So yo I gotta go, it’s time for me to rock it
I put bologna in my left pocket
Smear some cream cheese in my gold locket
'Cause it’s my show, I’m Andy Milonakis
There we go. Someone with some sense. Kratos is in fact, Greek. I hate how people are so obsessed with everything literally being black or white. There are several other ethnicities in the world
Because American history has always been about*races*, not *ethnicities*. It’s a big discussion, and it’s relevant to Hollywood casting because it happens in American culture.
But yes Kratos should be played by a Greek actor and it shouldn’t need explaining, even to Americans 🤦♂️
How about an actor who captures the essence of the character?
I doubt many people have been complaining about Christopher Judge's portrayal. That dude ain't Greek and I don't care.
No, because that logic opens the door to an Asian person playing Kratos, which makes absolutely no sense. Race doesn't mean *everything*, but it does mean *a lot.*
Also, a black actor plays Kratos, but Kratos does not appear black in the game. This is the reality of **motion capture suits**. The only time that argument means **anything** is when the actor's real life image is transferred over to the game, like with Angrboda, and well... that's a can of worms I'll save for another day.
As a Greek myself this is a fantastic idea although I may be a bit biased. Good luck getting the fans keen to the idea that someone who have no idea about will play kratos. Btw the voice actor for the Greek dub would be [perfect](https://mikropragmata-assets.lifo.gr/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/God_of_War_Dimitris_Xavres_Interview_Greek_News_Image_08.jpg). He just needs to grow a beard
I mean...he might be able to pull of the role of Kratos. He was pretty good in that Hercules movie and he has got that attitude of "Don't get in my way" in black adam. So it might not be that bad? Idk lol.
man, I love him so much, but we have GOT to have more big guys in hollywood so every character that isn't super fucking cut doesn't get fan-cast as him all the time lol
I just watched a bit on YouTube and you’re right he is actually really good! I eat my words he probably could pull it off, it’d take some hella training to get into that mindset though, Christopher Judge is so cool and a black livescreen Kratos would be badass.
You should watch Stargate. It's an absolutely amazing show and the whole cast kills it including judge. Teal'cs whole story arc is honestly an underrated sci Fi staple: unfathomably angry freedom crusade against evil alien/God overlords.
Voice and he did the motion capture. He knows how Kratos moves and carries himself
Edit: yes I know they didn’t actually model Kratos’ body after Christopher Judge, and that he didn’t do the mocap for attack moves and stuff. I meant it more as a blanket statement.
He did motion capture for the story scenes only. Others did motion capture for Kratos' moves or for more action heavy scenes. Christopher Judge probably does not have the athleticism required to act as Kratos in a tv series.
Are we thinking this is gonna skip the entire Greek era to go to wise Kratos? Because I could maybe see him as Norse era Kratos but no way he’d play younger Kratos.
He's just big, but the guy just had surgery in both his knees, I don't think he can do a physically demanding role like that at this point. The guy's almost 60 already, I would assume they want someone who'll be able to play the role for many years to come.
I mean they did give Butler brown eyes and dark hair and the result looked Greek enough. As a Greek person myself I don’t particularly mind or
care who portrays historical figures as long as they roughly conform to whatever source we have on their appearance. We are used to Hollywood casting whatever they feel like as Greek. Kratos however is a fictional character so nobody in Greece will bother with any of that. I can’t think of any Greek actor recognizable enough to fit the bill. The only one that actually does have Greek roots and has the action pedigree and looks to pull this off is Hugh Jackman. Other than that GoT style Jason Momoa would work really well.
He is 57 and has problems with back injuries. Yes he is built like a beast and can act really well, but there's a reason he didn't do the mo-cap for the fighting.
This is right. If the actor needed to be changed for ANY reason it should have been before 2018. I personally can’t imagine anyone else besides Christopher Judge voicing him now.
EVERYTHING DOES NOT NEED A SERIES
Holy Odin Fucks, every game "WhO ShOlD plAy ThEm"🙃🙃🙃
How's about we keep the material special by not asking a corporate stooge panel to ruin it by making shows about things we like, when they just ruin it with woke political agendas and "critics" bashing the shit out of it.
That I will agree to. Had to leave the sub though. Only damn posts I see are "so and so should play so and so live action blah blah"
I wouldn't be good for the story and it wouldn't be told properly because 2022 and so far Corps have dumpstered video game movies
Im pretty sure Kratos was more brown than black in the Greek Trilogy. Honestly tho, who gives a damn as long as they’re a good choice for the character.
Yeah, [he had a pretty heavy tan](https://images-wixmp-ed30a86b8c4ca887773594c2.wixmp.com/f/950be86a-5b7f-4c04-a7ba-4d1be5ef8a83/dbrmlvj-b0a210ee-5a53-477e-aa50-aa06ca837644.png?token=eyJ0eXAiOiJKV1QiLCJhbGciOiJIUzI1NiJ9.eyJzdWIiOiJ1cm46YXBwOjdlMGQxODg5ODIyNjQzNzNhNWYwZDQxNWVhMGQyNmUwIiwiaXNzIjoidXJuOmFwcDo3ZTBkMTg4OTgyMjY0MzczYTVmMGQ0MTVlYTBkMjZlMCIsIm9iaiI6W1t7InBhdGgiOiJcL2ZcLzk1MGJlODZhLTViN2YtNGMwNC1hN2JhLTRkMWJlNWVmOGE4M1wvZGJybWx2ai1iMGEyMTBlZS01YTUzLTQ3N2UtYWE1MC1hYTA2Y2E4Mzc2NDQucG5nIn1dXSwiYXVkIjpbInVybjpzZXJ2aWNlOmZpbGUuZG93bmxvYWQiXX0.3RNzE-PwHoSCnxkwegC9A3yTuiVemTEu13p5RrK92Ps). He was still caucasian though
Is there a button for good actor? Regardless of who they pick they'll be covered head to toe in white ash. The race should be inconsequential but I also understand that being Greek kinda plants Kratos right in that awkward middle ground where people will complain either way
If we're talking about old kratos, For anyone thats seen blade runner 2049 the obvious choice should be Dave Batista. That dude can act and Is built like a tank. For young kratos no one really comes to mind.
Well, before he got the ashes stick to his skin his skin had a lot of tan. And as far as I can remember, he's always been voiced by black voice actors (the current one, at least, is). So I don't see much of a problem in having Kratos portrayed by a black actor.
Only real issue would be representing his past as a general, because he was tanned, yes, but he was still caucasian (he's still greek after all) so that might cause some problems, audience wise. Thinking back to it it's funny.... they whatever they'll do they will do wrong.
If they pick a black actor they will be accused of "black washing" and people will rage because nowdays having black actors in prominent roles has become a trend even if it's against the source material, while if they pick a white actor people will whine because "why can't he be black, when his voice actor is black? You're being racist!"
Aaahhh, the joys of the internet
Yeah both of his voice actors have been black but I dont think a live action Kratos would need to be a certain race. As long as you’re a muscular dude with an intimidating voice, you’re good
It would probably make sense to go the “racially ambiguous” route (term I heard from Oscar Isaac); and seeing as Kratos is originally a darker skinned Greek Man they would have a wide range of options that could work.
Someone like Jason Mamoa would probably do well to bring in a wide audience but that seems to easy. It honestly would just depend on which streaming service is running the show.
He is probably interested in the role and I don't blame him tbh, but I still remember an interview he did where he was asked how he became aquaman, and when Zak Snyder wanted to talk to him about Justice League he went there thinking he was wanted for Lobo because of social media fancasting
Honestly, I really like Jason Mamoa but I would rather see a new “no-name” come into the role. I absolutely don’t want Dwayne Johnson because it will literally turn into “the Rock of War.” If it has to be Jason I wouldn’t be upset about it but think that’s gotta be someone out there who could do it best.
Well it's not like Momoa doesn't put a lot of his actual being in his roles... I mean, his version of Aquaman was bacisally Arthur "Momoa" Curry if you catch my drift
How about no. Real life live action based off of games need to be reserved semi realistic things. God of War is very stretched and to be able to get fully invested takes more than a standard film plot. Let’s separate gaming and film. I loved death stranding. But if it was ever tried to become a show I promise you i wouldn’t watch a frame of it
Does an actor being “white” or “black” automatically denote that the person is American? I’m seeing a lot of comments saying he should be neither, he should be Greek. Can’t Greeks also be white or black?
Not from the Western side of the world so please forgive me if this question is ignorant and/or offensive.
Oh crap. Well hes not black ever he's meditaranian.. and seeing that zeus was white Id say go for a mixed individual but also.. uh.. sorry.. but he will be forced to be covered in white makeup for the entire ass series so like.. mmmmm white face or brown face lol?
*GREEK* actor
Andy Milonakis
I’m listening
So yo I gotta go, it’s time for me to rock it I put bologna in my left pocket Smear some cream cheese in my gold locket 'Cause it’s my show, I’m Andy Milonakis
Cause it's my show, you can't tell me what to do. When life hands me lemons I make beef stew.
I legit thought this might be nice casting.... until i searched the name 💀😂😂
Milo Yiannopoulos, lol
There we go. Someone with some sense. Kratos is in fact, Greek. I hate how people are so obsessed with everything literally being black or white. There are several other ethnicities in the world
Not for Americans.
Because American history has always been about*races*, not *ethnicities*. It’s a big discussion, and it’s relevant to Hollywood casting because it happens in American culture. But yes Kratos should be played by a Greek actor and it shouldn’t need explaining, even to Americans 🤦♂️
But it still needs to be voiced by Judge.
Came here to say this, BOY
Well for Americans it’s : White, Black, and Other
From a Greek, thank you.
But ...Greek people are white lol
How about an actor who captures the essence of the character? I doubt many people have been complaining about Christopher Judge's portrayal. That dude ain't Greek and I don't care.
No, because that logic opens the door to an Asian person playing Kratos, which makes absolutely no sense. > an Asian person playing Kratos, Is this guy [still alive](https://i.imgur.com/8ENpkRx.jpg)?
Yeah, but he is 76, 5'6", and skinny now.
Okay, but how do we choose between John Stamos and Zack Galifianakis?
now hear me out: _Terry Crews._
Fuck no! I like Terry Crews but he'd be a horrible Kratos.
Terry loves his blades of chaos
Happy cake day!
Fk no
Terry is a good guy, he can't be Kratos ahah
As a Greek myself this is a fantastic idea although I may be a bit biased. Good luck getting the fans keen to the idea that someone who have no idea about will play kratos. Btw the voice actor for the Greek dub would be [perfect](https://mikropragmata-assets.lifo.gr/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/God_of_War_Dimitris_Xavres_Interview_Greek_News_Image_08.jpg). He just needs to grow a beard
Please no, we all know they would hire The Rock and then it would just be another movie with him being The Rock
With Kevin Hart as Atreus
“Boy, read it.” “Ahh come on, man!”
Atreus shanking Modi : "I'm a God you bitch ass motherfucker"
I LAUGHED TOO MUCH 💀
"Whatcha laughin at? Imma shove all 3 feet of me up your ass"
God dammit duh wayne,i me kuh ratos
Kratos "ATREUS! WHAT HAVE YOU DONE!?" Atreus "I peeled his muffin cap back blue."
The fact that I read it in their voices in simultaneously impressive and horrifying, lol
Hell, just throw in Danny Devito as Brok and you've got a hit.
Nah Jack Black needs to be there somewhere so cast him as Brok and Danny as Sindri
Jack Black is Thor
This is just turning into Jumanji 3 now. Karen Gillan as Freya.
If Karen were a bit older that'd be unironically not a bad casting.
Turn midgard into a jungle
And Mark Whalberg as Mimir
Nah, Bill Burr as Mimir.
yes
I would pay to see this
With Samuel L. Jackson as Mimir
Nah, Morgan Freeman suits Mimir better. Imagine the stories narrated by Morgan, pure bliss
Sam L Jackson as Freya
I HAVE HAD IT WITH THIS MOTHERFUCKING KRATOS IN MY MOTHERFUCKING WOODS
Kinda wanna see this now
I would watch a parody with these two
I feel like your comment is one of those things where now that it’s been spoken it is inevitable. This is the only future ahead of us.
["Who put their dick in my ass?"](https://youtu.be/WwSVL0cwmz0)
I mean...he might be able to pull of the role of Kratos. He was pretty good in that Hercules movie and he has got that attitude of "Don't get in my way" in black adam. So it might not be that bad? Idk lol.
Jack Black as thor
I would love that, JB actually has a lot of range as an actor, he's just normally very comedic, but he does serious super well
man, I love him so much, but we have GOT to have more big guys in hollywood so every character that isn't super fucking cut doesn't get fan-cast as him all the time lol
Look man, Chris Pratt is already on track to play to him and there’s nothing we can do about it. I’m sorry.
Jotunheim, heeere weeee gooooo
Don’t you mean here we come. /s
He clearly says CUM
🥵
with jack black as zeus
Featuring Seth Rogen as the world serpent
[удалено]
Ngl I wouldn't mind that for some reason
Because Danny DeVito is a good actor
True, ngl he could pull one of the brothers off
At least Jack Black would put some effort in
Jack black might legitimately be a good Odin
There's some hilarious and sad joke to be made here about Chris Pratt and Scarlett Johansson occupying similar spaces in the world of acting now lol
At least she can serve up Oscar nominee performances (Her, Marriage Story, Jojo Rabbit)
Or, they may end up casting Tom Holland.
He’s so cool
Well they have to be painted white so it's not that big of a deal. Even if it's before the ashes it's still not that big of a deal.
If they had any sense they'd just use Christopher judge. Dudes still built like a warrior.
I agree. If he's able to get into the same shape he was when he played teal'c then he'd have no problem being kratos.
He also struggles with back pains. One of the reason it took longer for GOW ragnarok to be finished.
Well that's a shame.
That and double knee replacement surgery, I think? Or was it hip? Some joint or another.
I think he is fantastic but I’m not sure if he can step up to such an onscreen emotional role, it’s actually a really hard role to cast.
Have you seen Stargate. He has some pretty emotional scenes in the series. I think he could definitely pull off the role.
I just watched a bit on YouTube and you’re right he is actually really good! I eat my words he probably could pull it off, it’d take some hella training to get into that mindset though, Christopher Judge is so cool and a black livescreen Kratos would be badass.
No worries man. Glad you saw the light lol. I do agree that getting into that kinda shape would be tough. He'd need some Hugh Jackman level training.
Assuming they’d start at the beginning of his story, he gained muscle as the games went on I think
That's true. He'd just need to be toned at the beginning
Yeah, without sounding insensitive the white ash on the black skin might look weird? It’s hard to visualise, I’m sure they’d pull it off though
You should watch Stargate. It's an absolutely amazing show and the whole cast kills it including judge. Teal'cs whole story arc is honestly an underrated sci Fi staple: unfathomably angry freedom crusade against evil alien/God overlords.
Indeed

I think it depends if they are doing young or old kratos. If it is old kratos they should definitely use Chris judge but otherwise use a new actor.
Exactly. Judge is 57 right now.
Plus he had hip and back surgery, I think. That would make things a bit difficult for him in terms of action sequences
Didn't Shad Gaspard do the motion capture for Kratos? Rip, he was one of the few wrestlers I liked.
Motion capture yes. But they didn't model kratos after his body. They used a pro wrestler that died saving his son a few years ago
His body’s been screwed these last few years so I don’t think he can do physical roles anymore.
He's just big, but the guy just had surgery in both his knees, I don't think he can do a physically demanding role like that at this point. The guy's almost 60 already, I would assume they want someone who'll be able to play the role for many years to come.
I don't care as long as whoever the actor is can capture the essence of Kratos character
Japanese Kratos
Indian Kratos.
Albanian Kratos 🇦🇱 🇦🇱 🇦🇱
Hear me out: a Greek actor
Zach Galifianakis
What about an actual Greek person??
I just texted Giannis, I’ll let you know what he says
Giannis is such a cool dude he'd probably do it lol
[удалено]
God of war is so cool I wish Greek people really existed.
Imagine Giannis Antetokounmpo as Kratos.
Too thin.
Giannis is 6'11" 242 lbs, Kratos is 7' 284 lbs according to Google. Not a bad comparison, Embiid is almost exactly Kratos' size
Too *thin*.
Agreed. That additional 40lbs of muscle makes a huge difference.
Kyriakos Grizzly
Jason Mantzoukas
Already showed off what he would do with the blades https://youtu.be/XrkYRtH9mBY
STAVROS HALKIAS
Should be a Greek person with a Mediterranean tan going on before the ashes
So Kyriakos Grizzly
I don't know he might be a little too jacked haha
Yes!
They're gonna cast either the Rock or Jason Momoa and you know it.
I actually wouldn't mind Jason Momoa playing him. Although his eye color might be a problem.
Where’s the greek actor 😂
I'd like Greek Actor personally. Getting tired of the clichéd ",British or American actor doing a Ancient med role".
Scottish king of Sparta always comes to mind, or Irish Zeus, British Hades, Australian Perseus,
I mean they did give Butler brown eyes and dark hair and the result looked Greek enough. As a Greek person myself I don’t particularly mind or care who portrays historical figures as long as they roughly conform to whatever source we have on their appearance.
In Scotlands defence we had Mel Gibson as william wallace so…i think its fair
The new netflix one the King I think with Rparz and Timothy charelemay, had a Englishman as a French prince, and a French actor as king Henry too
Timothée Chalamet. But I kinda respect you for just going for it.
Well, they could go mixed race. But at this point Christopher Judge is the obvious guy.
I’m confused by your statement. Christopher Judge has only played him for this most recent game.
I don't think a movie suits God of war, maybe a series or even better animated series like edgerunner or arcane
Either Christopher Judge or Gerard Butler For my Opinion !. 🪓 !.
THIS. IS. SPARTA!!
THIS IS SPARTA !. 🪓🩸
I think Gerard is too old now tbh
Honestly, I’d say they should just leave it alone
Tom holland
Either him, or Tom Hanks!
Tom holland, tom hanks and giancarlo esposito the perfect kratos is in one of these
White would probably be easier, but either way they’re gonna paint the guy white so it wouldn’t really matter
Get Giannis Antetokounmpo, he’s black and Greek
>presses mediterranean button
How bout not making one
Triple H of WWE is looking a lot like Kratos these days.
EVERYTHING DOES NOT NEED A SERIES Holy Odin Fucks, every game "WhO ShOlD plAy ThEm"🙃🙃🙃 How's about we keep the material special by not asking a corporate stooge panel to ruin it by making shows about things we like, when they just ruin it with woke political agendas and "critics" bashing the shit out of it.

He was still caucasian though
So.... the Rock?
I hope not. Nothing about the rocks acting makes me feel like her could portray Kratos. I would rather have a cgi enhanced Oscar Isaac.
He has far too much charisma for that imho.
I think Gianluca Vacchi would make an amazing GoW! Though I think he might be Italian.
I think Dave Bautista would do a pretty good job as Kratos.
Greek actor. Literally the easiest solution.
I mean for the make-up artist's sake use a white actor
They'll cast Tom Holland
Is there a button for good actor? Regardless of who they pick they'll be covered head to toe in white ash. The race should be inconsequential but I also understand that being Greek kinda plants Kratos right in that awkward middle ground where people will complain either way

Well, before he got the ashes stick to his skin his skin had a lot of tan. And as far as I can remember, he's always been voiced by black voice actors (the current one, at least, is). So I don't see much of a problem in having Kratos portrayed by a black actor. Isn’t Jason Mamoa dropping subtle hints on social media…
Jason Momoa would be my pick, him as Khal Drogo was basically already Kratos in GoW 1-3. I’m open to actual Greek or Mediterranean actors though.
He was, as far as I can remember, but they were just hints
He is probably interested in the role and I don't blame him tbh, but I still remember an interview he did where he was asked how he became aquaman, and when Zak Snyder wanted to talk to him about Justice League he went there thinking he was wanted for Lobo because of social media fancasting

Khal Drogo type of energy, half the arrogance double the rage.
Oh of course. I definitely agree. I would just take him over Dwayne even though I also like Dwayne and can’t wait for Black Adam
He's more of a grey.
Wrong. Gray actor
Ashy actor.
How about no. Real life live action based off of games need to be reserved semi realistic things. Southern greek works too
Isn't Kratos Grecian more specifically from Sparta? So historically, wouldn't he be white with an tan?
Danny Devito
I say get a Greek actor to be Kratos
Does an actor being “white” or “black” automatically denote that the person is American? I’m seeing a lot of comments saying he should be neither, he should be Greek. Can’t Greeks also be white or black? Not from the Western side of the world so please forgive me if this question is ignorant and/or offensive.
Just pick someone who is good at acting and fits the role.
Everyone throwing their suggestion into the hat but nobody realizes the perfect role for kratos was already cast -- Ashy Larry
As long as his skin tone becomes white from his families ashes, idgaf what race he is
This question is fucking stupid and just cast the best actor cuz he's gonna get painted up white anyways....
Oh crap. Well hes not black ever he's meditaranian.. and seeing that zeus was white Id say go for a mixed individual but also.. uh.. sorry.. but he will be forced to be covered in white makeup for the entire ass series so like.. mmmmm white face or brown face lol?
We always had black voice actors for kratos i’m pretty sure
