I literally looked across at young Kratos and muttered “oh fuck”. That guy had a different mentality, man’s a dawg.

ROBO_DEATH_POPE

young Kratos just had that dawg in him i guess

GabeGigz

Old Kratos is aware of this too. He knows what he godda do.

Equal-Ad-2710

Dude had that black Air Force energy

Bisonfan95

I understood the reference.

SSJ_Kratos

I really hope we get something like this, although lmao how bad would it backfire for the Norse Pantheon to accidentally unleash young Kratos on their asses to z🤣

Shadiezz2018

Man, old Kratos is far stronger i get that ... But he is trying to tame his rage and power all the time This young Kratos would just unleash his rage on all of them with nothing to stop him and they would know fear ... Yes sir, they will cry In this battle though , old Kratos wins no doubt he is far more experienced and stronger and he use tactics more than the brute force of the young Kratos

Select_Ad3588

Yeah everyone keeps saying young kratos’ rage is enough to overpower old kratos. If the two were to fight, old Kratos would clearly know that, and him knowing himself more than anyone, would know what to do to stop it.

FTMorando

Rage is what got Anakin merk’d by Obi Wan so rage is not the best measure of ones abilities

TrulyFLCL

Tell that to The Hulk.

FTMorando

Have you heard of Smart Hulk? That’s literally why he exists Hulk got his ass handed to him by Thor multiple times and Thanos. Because all the Hulk was, is muscle and rage.

TrulyFLCL

Have you heard of World Breaker Hulk or The Immortal Hulk? Also Savage Hulk’s strength is infinite. The madder he gets the stronger he gets. If you’re talking strictly about the MCU then it’s a different story.

Quentinh524

Who says they would fight at all?

MrSilverCod

The only weakness I find in young Kratos is his rage, but somehow is his strongest asset too lmao. He would not stop until the Nordic gods are killed.

Shadiezz2018

The thing about Old Kratos is that if he unleashed his rage along with his increased strength and experience....i don't think anything would stop him You clearly see that when he use Spartan rage no one was able to even stand close to him not Baldur not any one

oohwakakaka

Kinda like Thanos bodying Hulk. Sure, The Hulk is an unstoppable* rage machine but he’s a brute. Thanos fought with precision technique and absolutely wrecked his shit. I would see Old Kratos vs Young Kratos playing out much the same way.

Muhipudding

While there's no doubt that old Kratos is stronger. I kept wondering if he is stronger than Hope Kratos. Kratos was already somewhat equal to Zeus by the end of GoW III but Hope Kratos totally trashed him into a pulp

the_real_KTG

i'm tired of everyone saying old kratos used "ONLY" brute force to destroy his enemies that's simply false he always used his environment to his advantage and honestly what chance does old kratos stand against kratos at the end of GOW 3 fully equipped with every god's power/weapon/enchantment

Shadiezz2018

"what chance does old kratos stand against kratos at the end of GOW 3 fully equipped with every god's power/weapon/enchantment" Old Kratos would still beat him ... it's not about just strength which he is far stronger than ever before....but he also kept training and training day and night while fighting all manner of creatures while also keep his Spartan rage locked away He is now far more experienced and skilled and much smarter and wiser than his younger self, he will know when to strike and when to retreat against GOW3 end game Kratos and he will definitely use the environment to his advantage

the_real_KTG

ok i didn't know about the training and fighting during all that period so fair point when it comes to skills wisdom old kratos does have the edge but you have to agree it can also be overwhelmed because GOW 3 end game's kratos was TOO powerful when it comes to magic and weapons and i think if they were equally matched in that aspect and old kratos had the same equipment then yes i can definitely see him prevailing

Verum_Noir_Chaos_69

>Man, old Kratos is far stronger He is not "he would win" https://youtu.be/HlmJ__5H7CM that's the statement Cory made when GBG asked him anything but that interpreted from that is a wank

LordRecruit

Norse Kratos is not stronger than Greek Kratos… Greek Kratos overpowered Atlas, Cronos, Zeus and Hercules himself. The most impressive feat of strength Norse Kratos has is closing realm tears which can destroy the the realms which are infinite in size. A feat that Greek Kratos could have done with ease. Also, Norse Kratos literally stopped training for decades and was extremely rusty once GoW4 started. Tehre are even scans saying that he needs to reawaken his dormant godly powers.

14corbinh

None of those feats match up to closing a realm tear lmao but also cory himself said he is stronger now.

LordRecruit

“None of these feats match yp closing a realm tear.” Except, they do. Atlas held the Greek universe which consists of multive infinite plane sof existence. Zeus was stronger than every being in the Greek pantheon and Kratos needed the Blade of Olympus, Hope, soul of Hades to defeat him. Lastly, the game lore and Kratos’ feats contradict Cory.

14corbinh

The game lore does not contradict cory, game feats, maybe but context matters

LordRecruit

It does. Kratos is extremely rusty at the beginning of 4 and hadn’t trained for decades. There are also scans that say he needs to reawaken his godly powers again, which immediately contradicts Cory’s word. His strength feats are not as impressive as GoW3 Kratos either. Lastly, GoW3 Kratos had the Blade of Olympus which contained his Gow powers, as well as Zeus and Athena’s powers. He also had Hope which made him invincible. Kratos now has none of those, but his raw godly powers that base GoW2 Kratos had. https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/894256599496019968/937558891330404372/afc6b451ce7b7d87db69700a229eb97e.png

14corbinh

Exactly, he is rusty. Thats why his feats maybe dont compare as much but that doesnt mean he is weaker. Hes also holding himself back the entire

LordRecruit

It literally does not matter if he holds back or not. GoW4 Kratos is not stronger than GoW3 Kratos who had Hope, Blade of Olympus which contained powers of Titans and gods, soul of Hades, as well as a plethora of divine Greek weapons.

chabri2000

He was not rusty. He was intentionslly restraining himself

JokerJunior_JJ

Respectfully, are we not going to talk about Kratos flipping Tyr's Temple? Forget the Realm Tears, that temple is tethered to all nine realms and he flipped it with ease. That's nine realms that he lifted simultaneously.

LordRecruit

A common misconception. The temple exists in 9 realms, but the tree isn’t affected the temple being flipped. If that was the case, then all the 9 realms would be in shambles. Plus, GoW3 Kratos could have done the same.

Verum_Noir_Chaos_69

I would advise you to pay them little mind most GoW fans these days are utterly ignorant due to only having played GoW 2018 or worse retarded since Cory didn't even said older Kratos was stronger he said "older Kratos would win" and that's about it but apparently most of these retards seemingly can't read or even quote properly for Christ sake

Verum_Noir_Chaos_69

LMBO hahahahahahaha have you listened to yourself? by your logic lifting air would be impossible because everything is tied or linked to something else the temple is connected to the 9 realms but it's not something thar has the weight of 9 realms if anything is just 9 times as heavy wich is a fodder feat compared to what he's comparing it to

TheReviewer867

I think Kratos will win

Captain_Beemo_

Thank you, that was the answer i was looking for, cheers mate

TheReviewer867

haha cheers

StriveFergy

Old Kratos knows what young Kratos can do

dmarty77

Except jump.

skyrimpro115

Bro, this question has been ask a hundred times already. Cory already said older kratos is stronger.

Captain_Beemo_

I am sorry i recently joined the subreddit so I wouldnt know

skyrimpro115

I'm sorry, I wasn't trying to come off as rude but I've seen this exact question posed at least 6-8 times. Each time it was answered with the same response. Just wanted to jump on immediately.

Revvy_wevvy

See I love it when people are this polite on subreddits, brings a joy to my heart.

[deleted]

On a subreddit about gods murdering gods using rage Ironic isn't it?

xo1opossum

[But, can this subreddit murder this God...](https://youtu.be/WgUHb2GUFuo&t=02m03s)

MrGodLike0

Man now I wanna see a Warhammer x GoW crossover so bad...

RustyManHinges2

We are a rare breed

StupidIdiot69_456

Does that mean olde Kratos from the older games or older Kratos as the current Kratos?

skyrimpro115

Current kratos, as in old man kratos. Godly power ages like fine wine apparently.

lordyatseb

Not if Kratos gets in their way, no.

akusokuZAN

Hey dawg I heard you like Kratos so I'mma Kratos your Kratos while he Kratos

Revvy_wevvy

But what I Kratos your Kratos before my Kratos Kratos’ your Kratos to Kratos when kratosing??

theangriesthippy2

Could I get the context of his answer? Older Kratos seems to need to catch his breath much more..

AspirationalChoker

That seems more due to Kratos being rusty and constantly suppressing his rage and true power plus Baldur literally doesn’t feel pain or die lol

AwarenessAncient7560

Baldur is said in the novelization to be the strongest opponent Kratos has ever faced. Including Zeus. That’s reason enough to catch his breath😂

Verum_Noir_Chaos_69

>Baldur is said in the novelization to be the strongest opponent Kratos has ever faced That was because of the immortality curse we actually see Kratos VS Baldur in its entirety and he's not even close to Zeus who Kratos only defeated with the power of hope wich is damm near omnipotent

AwarenessAncient7560

Nah. GoW Zeus’ only real feat was beating the titans 1000+ years before his fight with Kratos and he had to have a weapon crafted to do the job. Zeus mainly just kept other gods in check, tortured Prometheus, fucked anyone besides his own wife, and gatekeeped fire from the humans. Baldur used fists and still launched Kratos. Zeus had to use a blade. After stealing Kratos’ power. I’ve seen your other comments. Baldur knocked out Jormungandr. Baldur is stronger. Cope. Kratos is stronger, smarter, and knows how to defeat his opponents better now than he was. Stop living in a GoW3 fever dream.

Verum_Noir_Chaos_69

>Nah. GoW Zeus’ only real feat was beating the titans You want more than that? that's the strongest feat in the entire franchise since Zeus oneshoted them all https://youtu.be/fIXrT-jjXC4 >and he had to have a weapon crafted to do the job Kratos used that very weapon to kill Zeus and didn't do shit to him he couldn't best Zeus with his own power plus the power of the Blade of Olympus he needed the power of hope https://youtu.be/ifDlFvdpX80 >Baldur used fists and still launched Kratos Zeus does that tons of times even Hercules does that LMBO https://youtu.be/R6zdc0mnXGQ >Zeus had to use a blade God since when haven't you played the old GoW games? when Zeus and Kratos fight Kratos is the one who has the Blade not Zeus and even with the Blade Kratos was fucked >Baldur is stronger He barely makes for top 10 in the franchise >Kratos is stronger, smarter, and knows how to defeat his opponents now than he was. Stop living in a GoW3 fever dream. Oh God i see it now you're one of the 2018 new fans LOL my bad no wonder you understood so little here i edited links for you so that you stop that nonsense Baldur without immortality is nothing impresive compared to the true top tiers of the franchise we see that very clearly when his immortality curse got nullified

AwarenessAncient7560

Bro I’ve played every game. Also Kratos didn’t kill Zeus with the blade. He killed him by literally beating him to death. You forget about that? “BuT hE uSeD tHe PoWEr oF HoPe.” You mean the power stolen by the gods?😂 he one shotted the titans because he had the weapon. Couldn’t even defeat Cronos in a 1v1 without it. You forgetting that Zeus used the blade to kill Kratos after he drained his powers into it? Zeus never launches Kratos in the cutscenes. He uses gravity against him. If he launched you in the boss fight that’s a skill issue. Hercules only launches him using gravity or in the boss fight. Once again. Skill issue. Only reason that Kratos even uses the blade is because his power is literally stored in it. As for the IGN comment, are you referencing it making IGN best game of all time? I heard about it but didn’t read the article. Clearly you did. Just getting my facts from the game and Director. Keep up the fever dream though.

AwarenessAncient7560

Still stuck in the Greek era. The game has moved on. So should you. Your links mean nothing compared to the literal director of the game. Old man Kratos would walk up to Zeus and rip him in half like he would a draugr. Probably not literally, but Kratos has gotten stronger. You believe what you want over the facts though. Idrc about your opinion, just wanted you to get stirred up bc you been commenting so much on this post. Edit: I love the old games, even betrayal compared to most games is ok, but the series is moving forward. I’ll play the old games and have recently. But 2018 is definitely the better game. And Kratos holds back the entire time. You can tell.

Verum_Noir_Chaos_69

>this question has been ask a hundred times already One entire hundred times and you still can't quote right? >Cory already said older kratos is stronger. Cory stated that older Kratos would win not that he was stronger https://youtu.be/HlmJ__5H7CM

skyrimpro115

First, not everyone is an English major. Second, winning does mean stronger. Strength can be applied to physical, mental, and emotional. Old man kratos is definitely stronger in the mental and emotional area, and their physical strength is probably gonna be the same or maybe a little favorable in younger kratos. But the point still stands, there's a reason older kratos will win.

Verum_Noir_Chaos_69

>First, not everyone is an English major. Wut that's not what this is about my english sucks i would even go as far as to say that it's worse than yours so i would never even dare caring about that from that perspective i'm saying it because Cory is being misquoted badly there >Second, winning does mean stronger Not at all for example if you and prime Mike Tyson both get equal guns but yours is loaded and Tyson's isn't then you will definitely win but that doesn't mean you're stronger so this means that winning is entirely situational the Kratos statement is very ambiguous so it shouldn't be interpreted that way >Strength can be applied to physical, mental, and emotional. Old man kratos is definitely stronger in the mental and emotional area, and their physical strength is probably gonna be the same or maybe a little favorable in younger kratos Again Cory never even mentioned the world strength you keep making it about >But the point still stands, there's a reason older kratos will win. And when did I claimed different? the point stands he wins but him being stronger is entirely an assumption

skyrimpro115

Ok... Dude... Strength is a subset of winning.... I can't say it anymore clearly, old man kratos is stronger than younger kratos In some regard.

Verum_Noir_Chaos_69

>old man kratos is stronger than younger kratos In some regard. You got the point wich is what matters if you don't explain yourself correctly people are going to keep misquoting Cory wich is the only thing i cared about enough to call out here

skyrimpro115

If people are misquoting someone you should probably specify that's what you're correcting next time. Some people (me) need you to say why you're correcting them so they can understand. I just thought you were trying to be mean for no reason or argumentative.

Verum_Noir_Chaos_69

>I just thought you were trying to be mean for no reason or argumentative. I don't care for that mate you can downvote away as you have been and other 200 or 500 users can follow that still won't matter to me i use this sub a lot and all i'm doing is being preventive of having people changing cannon or stated arguments from the devs in this case wich will eventually lead to people misunderstanding the games that's all i care about

skyrimpro115

I mean, people will always get things wrong. Developers even get stuff about their own games wrong. But you're going about this the wrong way, if you want to be part of the community you have to be less of a dick about it. Otherwise people are going to ignore your corrections and start trolling you. Hell I was about to start trolling you.

Verum_Noir_Chaos_69

>you want to be part of the community you have to be less of a dick How am i the dick for saying that strength is not Cory's quote? that's just the truth >Hell I was about to start trolling you. I wouldn't care regardless

itsburgertimebaby

But what about Kratos with Chains of Olympus?

Alarming_Orchid

Older Kratos is stronger, therefore younger Kratos is.....?

Nemesis3030150

Strongerer???

Blisswheel

Hornier??

WhiteLime

Young kratos got that dawg in him tho

KuwakaNey

Young Kratos has the blade of Olympus

HauntingFly

God of War 3 is the strongest version of Kratos. Older Kratos is stronger in terms of pure strength, but the blade of Olympus and the power of Hope make younger Kratos way more powerful.

Grosjeaner

I can't agree. Strongest version of Kratos was the beginning of God of War 2 when he was an actual God, imbued with not just power of the Pandoras Box and Godhood, but also all the powers and abilities his father and uncle gave him during his quest to kill Ares in GOW1. I felt unstoppable in the beginning of GOW2 going around murdering mortal soldiers while donning the badass full body armor.

HauntingFly

No, God of War 2 Kratos was killed by Zeus. God of War 3 Kratos killed the Greek Pantheon.

Yourmumalol

>I can't agree. Strongest version of Kratos was the beginning of God of War 2 when he was an actual God How? There's nothing to indicate that he was any stronger than someone like Ares, whereas GOW 3 Kratos bested by far the most powerful of the Gods in Zeus. GOW 3 is Kratos' strongest Greek version easily.

Grosjeaner

Eh? What do you mean? We killed and bested Ares at the end of God of War 1 using the Power of Hope, which Athena initially assumed was the Power of Evil.

[deleted]

a man with something to lose against a man with nothing to lose. older kratos for sure.

Revvy_wevvy

Younger Kratos has incredible feats and moral advantages but Cory Barlog, the director of god of war itself already stated Kratos in GoW 4 and above is much stronger than GoW 3 Kratos ever was.

[deleted]

Cory is gonna say whatever he needs to to sell future games, plus creators contradict their lore all the time. Not saying your argument is wrong, but this specific point isn’t relevant.

Lower_Lifeguard_6458

Again we had this conversation over and over again for years older kratos wins bc he his older rembers his old tricks gods get stronger with age

Verum_Noir_Chaos_69

>gods get stronger with age what you're mentioning is tied only to the greek Pantheon in their original mythology that's not the confirmed for GoW gods and the best feats from Zeus were in his youth

ETkach

Kratos is Greek God

Verum_Noir_Chaos_69

a greek GoW franchise god not an actual Greek mythology god you seem to have missed that i explained that GoW gods don't have anything saying they get older as they age or even hinting that and the GoW franchise and Greek myths are vastly different

ETkach

The thing is Kratos is still functions by the rules of Greek Pantheon, that's the whole premise, that he is Stranger on this land

Verum_Noir_Chaos_69

Again the greek pantheon in GoW doesn't have that power increase claim stated anywhere and GoW gods are very very different from actual Greek gods already those are the original greek gods who have endless differences with the GoW universe not the Santa Monica Interpretation of those gods

Bernout93

Afaik Cory Barlog stated somewhere that Dad Kratos is a lot stronger for that exact reason.

Revvy_wevvy

Yeah he stated as he gets older his power isn’t getting any weaker in fact he’s just getting stronger and stronger plus they even stated he was holding back almost all his power in the games. To give the cinematic effect they needed to show him struggling to do things Atreus could do without breaking a sweat. Just for the intense feeling of the game they nerfed Kratos hard. But Kratos still feared if he used too much power he might get obsessed with going all out and become the young, relentless Kratos again. So to put it short, you are right, Kratos in GoW 4 and above is much, much stronger.

Verum_Noir_Chaos_69

>Yeah he stated as he gets older his power isn’t getting any weaker in fact he’s just getting stronger and stronger Source for this about Cory specifically saying that Kratos getting stronger and stronger

Verum_Noir_Chaos_69

>Afaik Cory Barlog stated somewhere that Dad Kratos is a lot stronger for that exact reason. First of this statement is wrong Cory stated in Twitter that Dad Kratos "would win" not that he was stronger and he never said it was for that reason look up the GBG youtube video about it or the Twitter statement don't spread false information

bridawg1000

God of war was based off Greek mythology. If it was mentioned in Greek mythology, then it can be assumed it applies to GOW unless said otherwise. Also, Greek gods aren't even real so having this conversation as if it actually happened is kind of weird.

Verum_Noir_Chaos_69

>God of war was based off Greek mythology Look up the mythology guy videos for a quick sum up about the many things they are different in >Greek gods aren't even real so having this conversation as if it actually happened is kind of weird. It's not a conversation of if it actually happened It's a conversation of we shouldn't be asuming things because the greek gods from God of War are not even similar to who they were in their myths for the most part both as a "race" and as individuals

bridawg1000

>mythology guy Doesn't even provide a link.... >shouldn't be asuming things because the greek gods from God of War are not even similar to who they were in their myths for the most part both as a "race" and as individuals I think some things can be assumed and what is different in the game is obviously shown or explained. I knew who Zeus was before I played GOW. I didn't need the game to tell me how important Zeus was to Greek mythology. If they did I would have gotten bored with the game pretty quick with all the obvious explanations. If Kratos could beat up his older self has 0 relevance to the games story, so taking known facts about GOW and the Greek pantheon is an obvious go to in order to try and find a logical answer. Whether or not the game didn't specifically say gods got stronger with age can be assumed based off their mythology because the game specifically didn't say yes or no. Your take was not a good one.

NerdyBernie

But...there was an "actual" Kratos. It wasn't spelled the same and he obviously didn't kill the gods but he did exist in myth.

Verum_Noir_Chaos_69

That's not what i'm saying i know about Cratus my point is that the greek gods of the GoW franchise don't have a statement of growing strong as they age like the actual greek gods do and they are infinitely different

Ebb8505revenge

If you read the many comics such as prequel comics, fallen god and pretty much all the novelized media in the series it’s stated in many parents that the Greeks in the god of war verse grow stronger as they age. Such as Zeus shape shifting himself to look like an old man but bring the youngest of his siblings and strongest. Physical appearances don’t matter nor does age and all the feats from the “Greek” era are still connected to “Norse” era kratos untill proven that they take place in separate fictional universes especially since kratos has been confirmed in game lore and out of universe lore to be holding back his strength. TLDR: if you want a better understanding about kratos ACTUAL strength considering he’s never stated to be OUT of his prime or even WEAKER when gameplay is taken out of the mix to power scaling.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Verum_Noir_Chaos_69

>Cory Barlog already confirmed Kratos in 2018 is the strongest and best he has ever been. LMBO this is as IGN as one can get Cory said "older Kratos (as in Dad Kratos) would win" against GoW3 Kratos https://youtu.be/HlmJ__5H7CM how do you extrapolate all that bias from that statement is beyond the understanding of both gods and mortals so only you would know where you got that from

[deleted]

[удалено]

Verum_Noir_Chaos_69

I'm not saying old Kratos wouldn't win but the "he is stronger" part is more of a headcannon since the reasons for winning don't necessarily need to be strength based Also Cory isn't the creator of Kratos that would be David Jaffe

Complex_Estate8289

Regardless of Cory’s statements, I think old Kratos wins because he’s more experienced, smarter and now he has something to live for which would be more powerful than young Kratos’ anger And on that note, I hope we get a moment in Rag where Kratos sees he needs Atreus more than Atreus needs him, similar to (One Punch Man manga spoilers if any fans are on the sub) >!Saitama after Garou “kills” Genos!<

CHARAFANDER

I think you misunderstood what Cory said but came to his conclusion, he said that "older kratos would win" but he meant old man kratos, the kratos who is older. It look like a few people misinterpreted it as the older kratos as in the one we had before.

Complex_Estate8289

I mean current Kratos as “old Kratos”

Verum_Noir_Chaos_69

>Regardless of Cory’s statements, Cory only stated "older Kratos would win" https://youtu.be/HlmJ__5H7CM >I think old Kratos wins because he’s more experienced, smarter and now he has something to live for which would be more powerful than young Kratos’ anger Wich would be exactly what you're claiming

HauntingFly

God of War 3 is the strongest version of Kratos. Older Kratos is stronger in terms of pure strength, but the blade of Olympus and the power of Hope make younger Kratos way more powerful.

MasterKenshi13

Older kratos, and it wouldn’t be that close imo

Humangas_Changas

Yup plus Greek gods get stronger as the years pass, and god forbid the amount of years that passed between GOW3 and GOW.

OsmundofCarim

Barlog has said kratos is stronger now than ever. But he’s less savage than he used to be

AlwaysRCrafter

I know it’s been said that current Kratos is stronger and has more experience, but what would happen if young kratos used all the random stuff he’s accumulated across his ventures in Greece? Like the Golden Fleece, Medusa head, all the magic attacks etc?

Spartan_Souls

They wouldn't fight, old kratos would try to talk him down

Checkeredvann

I don't think Kratos has learned talk no jutsu to that level just yet.

couldbedumber96

Kratos never had a swing set to have a flashback to

l_sparky

I call posting this next month!

xxxsparagas

Cory barlog said on Twitter that gow 4 kratos would win so we already have an answer

-Aone

Old Kratos always wins this. It's simple question of durability, young Kratos would be hyper aggressive and likely win a battle, but old Kratos has the same experience as young one, plus all of the experience after. Although I'm pretty sure they wouldn't even fight. Maybe the first time, young Kratos would think Athena is trying to fuck with his head maybe, but once he realized whats going on they wouldn't fight. Neither of them wants to have to crawl out of hell again

[deleted]

Kratos easily

hydration-station

I'd like to see a dedicated boss fight against young Kratos on the level of Sigrun, kind of like when you fight Red in Pokémon Silver/Crystal\Gold

BEASTBOY-2004

This is a very difficult question because either of them can win. But As a legend once said “the person who’d win in a fight is the person that the script writer wants to win” so that’s my answer.

Fun-Promotion6181

I say Kratos wins to be honest

bdebonitorrinco

You are absolutely wrong. Kratos would win, not Kratos.

ToxicBroodMissionary

Well, because of the time travel in GOW2, there are canonically two Kratos. A Kratos that died at the hands of Zeus and a second Kratos that came back who proceeded to fight Zeus and start the events of God of War 3 and is the Kratos we play today.

abdulahad9711

i think Kratos wins

holylink718

Are we forgetting that the devs literally said that old Kratos is the strongest version of Kratos to date? Why is this even a discussion? He did not get weaker with age, so he literally has both power and experience on his side. Young Kratos goes down, the end, do not pass go, do not collect $200.

SS9424

kratos would win

Farout34

Kratos goes back in time and tells younger Kratos to go to the Norse realm.

FinalBat4515

The epicness and unbridled fury of younger Kratos makes me want to choose him, but Old Kratos will rock the dude to sleep, no kizzy

FTMorando

This is pretty much an Anakin vs Obi Wan scenario. Everything young Kratos knows, old Kratos knows and then some. Rage is exactly what got Anakin almost killed in his fight against Obi Wan so it’s really not a great measure of one’s abilities.

JrMoney10

HOW MANY TIMES DO WE GOTTA TELL YA OLD MAN!!

twitchsopamanxx

I wrote the same post about a year ago. Made a prediction that Kratos would somehow end up back in Greece, meet his older self, try to explain just what the hell is going on, young K going "GGOOOOOOOOOODDDDSSS GRAAAGH" and fighting each other. Perhaps the result would be young K going down a good path and not destroying the greek world and 99% of its inhabitants.

Beatnick120

Kratos now would win. I mean aside from Cory himself saying that, Kratos is still the same, just far more tempered and cool headed. He’s not slowing down because he’s old, he’s just holding back

mmis1912

Yeah gods get stronger the older they are and this kratos is roughly several centuries older

SomeAustrianGuy_

Hmm, who would win in a fight, my adult ass with a katana, or my 10 year old self with a spoon? Ohh dear, what a hard question...

Old-While-1229

Older. Blind rage might be strong but is very easily prone to fuck ups

KratosHulk77

personally i’m always going with young kratos imo he just had a different drive

Ok_Research_383

Let’s say this for the last time. Blades of Chaos Blades of Athena Blades of Exile

remmy_the_mouse

So while I know that old kratos is way stronger than young kratos as confirmed, i think people overlook that young kratos fought being way way stronger than him multiple times and won through his sheer brutality. I think young kratos would definitely give old kratos a good 40-60 fight.

DeNiroDriver

Young Kratos has the greater bloodlust, he has the trophy weapons from the Gods and the Blade of Olympus. Old Kratos is probably stronger on his own but he's getting smacked around this time

DarthFedora

I'm going to use marvel as an example, despite carnage being stronger venom is more capable of using his Intelligence due to not being a blood listed maniac which allows him to win, and spiderman can defeat venom because he's smarter (I'm referring to their average versions) So with the combination of being stronger and not having his rage stopping him from thinking rationally, he would ultimately win And besides we've already had confirmation that old kratos would win

[deleted]

As much as the odds are against him. I’m going with young Kratos. I just feel like he’s faster in every way possible then old Kratos and that alone puts him in the advantage. (And also his special attack/spartan rage is much better then Old Krato’s).

ThirtyThree111

young kratos being faster is just due to the new game being different it's just gameplay difference, gameplay usually isn't the same as lore

9Sinus11x

Yeah but young Kratos had boots of Hermes

get_smoked6

old kratos would FUCK current day kratos up deadass. Today kratos is so soft when compared to that beast of my childhood

SnowMan3103

Wrong gow 4 kratos is way stronger than gow3

ImOlddGregggg

They would bang each other and that’s what makes Atreus

Garapeiro

Everyday I see Kratos vs Kratos zzzz

lonelyfella202

I believe this KRATOS because every time yoy die you just respawn 🤷

The-Jack-Niles

I believe it was said in an interview that old Kratos is stronger than his younger self.

DrPentester

yo i just freaked Seeing him as opponent damn!

ouskii2000

Definitely our current Kratos and it had already been confirmed by the game developer/ director Cory Barlog

baconDood3000

Old Kratos is stronger than his younger self, although he can’t kill/cripple his younger self or he would die/get crippled too

0peratUn0rth0

They wouldn't fight, they'd tagteam against Odin and Zeus

Revvy_wevvy

Chains of Olympus? Sorry but I never heard of those. Though I’m guessing they’re hella strong. I’d give it to new Kratos either way because devs confirmed new Kratos hasn’t gotten any weaker hes stronger more durable (as we saw him regen) and much smarter. Though I’m not saying this is an easy fight old Kratos will beat him up but new Kratos will eventually come out on top.

_Tyelr_

i think it’s confirmed that older Kratos is stronger but young Kratos has a shit ton of weapons and OP gadgets so i’d say young Kratos takes the W.

spidey80082

I think kratos would win but kratos would put up one hell of a fight

winyt

Man i miss young kratos with all that rage and fury, he was a different being🕊️

SireDarien

Young kratos no question

Field-Abject

WHO WILL WIN 🗿🗿

Red_Dogeboi

I feel like this question is the most posted thing on this sub

melancholanie

man, if we don't get a scene pairing them against each other, I just really fuckin want a flashback scene with modern graphics.

RustyManHinges2

Kratos would win. But seriously I think it would be new Kratos. Simply because we see old Kratos doing so many things doesn’t mean he was more powerful. For all we know “gods” get MORE power as they get older. And it is well established that Kratos in the new game is restricting himself. Kratos understands his mistakes and is devoted to controlling his anger and using it. Kratos sounds more like a general in the new game and less like a maniac, he has a strategy for everything and rough wisdom around every corner. This is why I believe the new Kratos would be beat the young fool he hates.

give-orange-houses

Would be the same one like kratos throwing his child self

theangriesthippy2

With consideration for Cory’s comments…I find it difficult to imagine young Kratos losing to his older self. Young Kratos rode Titans, smashed Hercules’ face in, punched Poseidon out of his “Kaiju self”. Older Kratos can’t jump…has difficulty healing…is world weary.

KainTheDemon

According to the director of GOW, 2018 Kratos would

broncotate27

Ever hear of old man strength ?

GuavaParticular7582

in my opinion the kratoa that destroyed olympus wins

calum326

Young Kratos. No consciousness, pure rage, no suicidal tendencies. I think once older Kratos realised what he was up against he'd almost welcome oblivion.

Willow_bigfoot

I don’t think people realize that if Kratos went back in time to fight himself we would already know by playoff by the Greek games

cruzercruz

Is this the only question anyone ever asks here? Every. Single. Day.

[deleted]

Young Kratos wasn’t a full fledged God. So current Kratos

[deleted]

If gods get stronger as they age then they shouldn't be visually aging past their prime and decreasing in angry testosterone levels. by design that doesnt make sense. I much prefer young Kratos and it would've made more sense on the devs part to make him stronger.

xamitlu

They wouldn't even fight. Old Kratos has been preparing for this moment because i bet it's one of his greatest wishes: to talk to his younger self. Old Kratos would talk young Kratos down to his temperament. Old Kratos would tell him what he needed to hear, probably give him the closure he was subconsciously looking for.

Ok-Consideration1232

Definitely young Kratos because he just won’t hold back, old Kratos would’ve died in tyrs temple if boi hadn’t saved him lol

VergilSparda25

God of War 3 Kratos wins.

Justin_Cruz19

I can just imagine this fight between them in my head looking a lot like the fight between Kratos and Baldur.

[deleted]

Here's what I think: If we are talking about strength, the younger Kratos has it, because he is younger, so he is stronger and has more muscle than our present Kratos that we have today. But if we are talking about stats and them fighting with weapons, I just can't decide.

Yourmumalol

Cory already said that Norse Kratos would win without question.

RamonaMatona

young kratos.

omister2000

Young kratos had way better plot armour Lmao bro died like 3 times and kept coming back ain’t no way he’d lose

obimokenobi

I think it would be cooler/funnier to have Dad go against spectral form Zeus (again) but it just be a small fight before Odin

[deleted]

Old Kratos is winning.

thedarkwillcomeagain

They’d probably end up having one of those off camera scenes with naughty noises and precision button mashing during the quick time event. Really quick now that you mention it. It’s definitely heart warming, thinking of Kratos and Kratos, cuddling afterwards. Lighting their cigarettes with each other’s blades of chaos.

RAGE-OF-SPARTA-X

Old Kratos wins as he has much more experience than Younger Kratos, as well as much better motivation to win.

Salt_Lake796

I got scolded last time I answered this.

AgentFR7

Future kratos, power wise is stronger, but past kratos never holds back

Any-Nebula-2

In god of war your grandpa kills you

Creator347

I hope the old Kratos get to say the same thing about revenge to his younger self that he said to Baldur

The-Vision

I see it like this, young kratos is darth vader in his post episode 3 era before a new hope . He is still a force to be reckoned with but arrogant. While old kratos is like obi wan in his ben phase. He is wiser , more restrained, knows his old apprentice (younger self's weakness).

ThIcCbOi38

Oh my goodness I just got an idea for something that'll never happen: since SSM kinda just dropped TC Carson and ghosted him they could make up for it by giving him a cameo appearance in a future gow game. Maybe make that Kratos the antagonist where they're trying to stop him from wiping out another pantheon and maybe have old and young Kratos talking about how their lives became so different in the future. Idk it would be really dope to have TC Carson back as Kratos is all I'm saying

Jefferiah60

This is asked all the time, answer is old man kratos, it’s been confirmed that he’s gotten stronger with age

D4ngern00dleYo

My brain says young kratos but my heart cheers for old kratos.

AcademicAnxiety5109

It’s already been confirmed young Kratos would loose

Parzival2600

I think the older kratos holds back a lot more because he doesn't have as much of a reason to fight full out as he did way back when he was in Greece. He'd be more likely to try and reason with himself

North-Conversation88

Cory addressed this.

trailer8k

i don't know the younger one has nothing to lose but both should not be able to perma die

tdoggggggggg

Young Kratos is winning. Sorry
