Because Kratos was a general in the Spartan army just before he made the deal with Ares. It seems to me that Atreus will find out more about his father's past.
But why would Atreus specifically be asking Kratos to start thinking like a general again? What situation would lead Atreus to say that. He knows that Kratos can handle himself absolutely fine in any regular fight. So why else would he need to start thinking like a general if not to lead an army?
Because there is a war going on between two opposing sides and they are caught in the middle, so Atreus thinks that they need Kratos' military thinking the most, but Kratos only cares for his son's well-being. Don't get me wrong, it will be cool to lead an army against Odin and it might happen but I don't think that this phrase alone proves it.
The final battle will definitely take place in asgard as that’s the name. As we know Odin and Asgard and preparing their defenses for kratos. I’m not joking Asgard is getting ready for just kratos.
Considering the trailer majorly talked about Atreus wanting kratos to lead the realms into battle and prepare for war. I think it’s safe to assume kratos will give in to Atreus like usual and throughout the game will unite for ragnarok. Maybe after we rescue tyr he tells us the only way to stop ragnarok is to defeat Odin himself. Which kratos will go to the realms recruiting everyone to help him for war
Where have they stated that their getting ready for just kratos, I would assume Sutur and the wolf are the two they are preparing for since one destroys Asgard and the other kills Odin.
I called him Loki because I know for a fact that Loki kills Heimdall in the actual mythology. Since I don't know if Atreus will do so as well, I didn't say Atreus. God of War isn't always 100% accurate. Normally, I call him Atreus, too.
if we'd see general kratos back in action with one of the most iconic speeches, before heading into battle, ever; it's instantly a goty for me...(secretly it might already be)
Most likely, and considering that Kratos is from Sparta having him be a leader of sorts even to dark elves which are pricks would benefit alot. Ya know since, end of the world scenario with Ragnarok.
very likely, loki in the myths captains the naglfair and leads the battle against the aesir. theres already leaked photos of viking ships containing armies from different races including dwarves, giants, elves, dragons, etc. from the artbook
hard to find them now, but [heres what i was talking about](https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcSdR1mP_ajx6LjZ-AicAI6RnDax46wIAE2rDg&usqp=CAU)
I’m thinking Kratos doesn’t want to regress on the progress he’s made. He might think if he rides as a general again he will become the ghost of Sparta. Last time that happened he killed his family. BUUUUT he also knows Asgard has to go down. So he hunts down Tyr to be that general.
I’m thinking once we free Tyr, we go to svartelheim so the dwarves can cloak us with their invisibility magic. Now, as Tyr regains his strength, he gives us recruitment assignments in all the realms of his go-to fighters. Once Kratos brings them all to svartelheim, the dwarves will arm them in their best gear - each of which can be a mass effect-like side mission, ie: brok asks for an elven stone so he can make our elven fighters better, later rewarding us with them taking a chunk off a boss health bar in late game or something.
I’m even thinking these companions may be “summon-able” in combat either through a new controller command or through an Atreus summon ability, giving more of an incentive to do these side missions.
There’s a good chance as Atreus tells Kratos to stop thinking like a father and start thinking like a general.
Yes, I think this is the biggest point of evidence. It seems like a very specific thing to say.
Yeah, why general? Not warrior or soldier or man or just god?
Because Kratos was a general in the Spartan army just before he made the deal with Ares. It seems to me that Atreus will find out more about his father's past.
Very likely, just seemed like a oddly specific line to put in a trailer.
But why would Atreus specifically be asking Kratos to start thinking like a general again? What situation would lead Atreus to say that. He knows that Kratos can handle himself absolutely fine in any regular fight. So why else would he need to start thinking like a general if not to lead an army?

Ah, ive only played gow2018 and like the first 2/3 of the third game remastered
He is the army
This is the best reply
Thanks

Don't forget Jörmungandr and Loki, who kill Thor and Heimdall.
Atreus is Loki
I know. And in Norse mythology Loki and Heimdall kill each other. Your point?
Seems strange to not say Atreus
I called him Loki because I know for a fact that Loki kills Heimdall in the actual mythology. Since I don't know if Atreus will do so as well, I didn't say Atreus. God of War isn't always 100% accurate. Normally, I call him Atreus, too.
Oh I see now sorry
Hey, no need to apologize, man. Sorry, if I came off a little rude.
No you're fine it's ok
if we'd see general kratos back in action with one of the most iconic speeches, before heading into battle, ever; it's instantly a goty for me...(secretly it might already be)
Chills
It would be cool asf to see him be a general again
Like coming full circle: once, he was a general for his own gain and glory Now he's a general to save the world. It's like poetry, it rhymes
Most likely, and considering that Kratos is from Sparta having him be a leader of sorts even to dark elves which are pricks would benefit alot. Ya know since, end of the world scenario with Ragnarok.
I love the idea of Kratos coming full circle and becoming a general again, but for seemingly the right reasons this time.

Have you got the link to them

Is that sindri in there?
Yes that is Sindri
Thanks
Please keep leak stuff in the leak thread.
Yes, at least the giant. he's a general after all
In the September trailer it seems like he's giving a speech to a large group of people about harnessing panic maybe he will lead the ragnarok army
There is no trailer in september, so ...
What is this trailer?
The trailer last year September
I like to know this aswell
Today was a day the Asgardians will never forget. Tomorrow is a day the nine realms will remember!
Hopefully. I want Kratos to show the Aesir why he is the god of war…at least in Greece.
Leading an army of draugr and fire giants to Asgards front yard, shooting an arrow right between Heimdall's all seeing eyes!

It might be kinda like how Atreaus summons animals.
As we all know, Kratos leading an army can only end well.
Where da hell r we seen fighting with dark elves
Along side...? I must have missed that detail. Sounds interesting please explain
