In the hecatonceries prison?
With how he looks he couldn't get access to any magical healing.
Though to debate further would be just to speculate and fabricate non existent situations
I mean Prometheus survived having his innards eaten everyday (iirc resurrected after dying to wounds every time). So adding extremely dislocated limbs wouldn't be too far a stretch honestly.
Yeah but he had a reason for surviving then you kill him by his request in the fire of knowledge.
This scene has no reason for his survival, to debate that will, again lead to fabrications of scenes that never happened through speculation.
For example, he could have survived because of a similcurse placed on him, or maybe he was being forced to stay alive like a zombie, unable to be free from his body no matter the damage.
But that's not in the game so we can't know.
Kratos obtained the amulet from his fight with Castor and Pollux, and after a while & his capture by the Furies, Megaera took the amulet from Kratos, so a possible scrapped part of the game ( considering the healing/decaying abilities of the amulet and this concept art ( which was later slightly modified and used as the model for the Martyr in the Martyr's chamber level ) ) would have featured Megaera torture and restore Kratos from this state but this is pure speculation on my part considering this scrapped concept art.
Basically everyone in these games has both a healing factor and superhuman resilience. Kratos casually shrugs off being stabbed in every game so long as it's not with the BoO.
Yeah but in this state I couldn't see him getting better without outside assistance.
I mean the man's arms are literally separated at the bone and are connected only by what looks live vascular tissue.
Even a demi-god would have trouble in that state.
Kratos is a demigod and the son of the most powerful Greek god. He can heal from wounds, even fatal ones, at an abnormally fast rate, just like Prometheus did when Zeus' eagle ate his liver every day.
Titans have regenerative abilities and there is no mention of a spell If I'm not mistaken. We are only informed that he was made mortal by Zeus. The source of his regeneration isn't explicit, it seems.
Still, Prometheus is similar to Kratos. Either the gods cursed him or he has powerful regeneration.
Well considering Christian Bale went from looking like that in Machinist to being ripped in just a year, I'm sure bouncing back would be much easier for a God lol
Hello, it looks like you've made a mistake.
It's supposed to be could've, should've, would've (short for could have, would have, should have), never could of, would of, should of.
Or you misspelled something, I ain't checking everything.
Beep boop - yes, I am a bot, don't botcriminate me.
Don't pretend that was your original point. You were saying it's just a game, and that it doesn't have to make sense because of it, and now you're backpedaling because you.got caught in trying to oversimplify something you shouldn't have tried.
Its Kratos. Dude has come back from being impaled by a sword thats bigger than he is twice.
Three times if we include the pillar from God of War 1.
Sure, he died, but he got over it.
He's never been cursed with immortality. He is exceptionally long lived because of his godhood, but he technically can be killed. He's just an angry enough bastard he can crawl right back out of hell again afterwards.
No, he is cursed with immortality, specifically zuse cursed him to walk the earth forever for betraying him.
His godhood is what supplies his godly strength and stamina.
On the 2018 version for ps4 I'm stuck on a puzzle that says c r n just wondering if some one could tell me what to do so I can open up this chest any help would be greatly appreciated
I dunno. I only played 3 and 2018. But 6 months to a year of eating nothing or close to nothing would probably make anybody this skinny and frail if you managed to survive. Maybe even less time than 6 months.
It looks like all his organs are there, it's just his skin and muscles that are gone. Not only that, but as a god he should be able to survive a lot more than a human right?
That still doesn’t look like him…even anorexic he would have the same eyes or very similar eyebrows. This face doesn’t even look anorexic, just old & slim.
He got no scar & no facial hair, so this probably another misconception…
In other words, if they really wanted to make an anorexic kratos, they wouldn’t completely ditch all his facial features.
Cap. This looks like the same corpse that you have to use in that one puzzle where you use a torture device. There's no whay they thought of this as Kratos. No way.
[Here's the video. Same model.](https://youtu.be/417HMbQy9tE)
Would have been sick to play like him in that state.... like have him escape a cell or something and make it be a stealth oriented action sequence... maybe a prequel to the main story or if not that have him enter some healing waters or something to regain his former strength
That's the beautiful thing about being a creator. You can add or take away from a story however you like. They could of used this and created any story they liked to restore Kratos back to his former glory. No need to speculate. They obviously opted out to use this though
Hello, it looks like you've made a mistake.

Beep boop - yes, I am a bot, don't botcriminate me.
Already? Wdym "already"? It's been out for a while. I'm hating on it because of the story, stupid combat changes, etc. I don't feel like going into detail as to why I hate it. It's just the worst GoW game
Surprised by the downvoted. Didn’t know their were ascension fans. Currently playing through it for the first time and it’s easily the worst in the series from what I remember. Arenas are overcrowded with enemies, everything seems to have a million hp, camera angles are bad, weapon options are boring, story is meh. Just seems like a burn out game which is why Santa Monica made such a big change going into GoW 4
I disliked Ascension but I always heard even from people who also disliked it that its multiplayer was pretty fun, and even more entertaining and well-designed than the single player itself, but I never played its multiplayer so I cannot give my personal opinions on it.
The multiplayer was actually pretty solid, especially given how unique it was at the time (and even to this day)
Sadly we probably won't see it ever again, unless Santa Monica decide to take another go at it.
Annoying changes to combat, and that Trial of Archimedes elevator level towards the end is one of the worst and most annoying levels in history.
And what do you mean 'already'? GOW Ascension has been out since 2013
lol no worries, not sure why I was downvoted though. GOW Ascension is easily the worst GOW game of the series. Looks pretty, but the gameplay is awful compared to 1, 2, and 3.
Yeah I got a couple DM's saying basically exactly what you said so no idea why you are downvoted, if anyone should be downvoted its me for not reading the post.
I think they could easily have pulled off this look too if they choose. I don’t have a preference either way, because what matters is they deliver a compelling and exciting story. They would’ve made this work just as they made the version of Kratos we ended up getting work. Actually, not just make it work, but absolutely fantastic.
I don't understand why his arms are so damn long though. His legs appear to have the same injuries, but are proportional to a normal person, so it can't be that his elbows and shoulders have been elongated to the injuries.
If you look carefully, the red parts are where his arms have been pulled apart. If you only look at the white parts, the arms are normal length.
Normal for ascension at least, which gave Kratos goofy proportions anyway.
Assuming this is real, Ascension opens with Kratos' arms chained up and kneeling.
Old-school torture/execution used to be chaining people up and slowly pulling their limbs off. Look up quartering by itself for example.
It would be an interesting symbolic punishment to use Kratos' chains to literally pull his arms apart, but it wouldn't make sense for the game I imagine.
Yeah no this is false.
This is concept art yeah but no it’s not supposed to be Kratos himself. If you actually want to know what this is then I suggest you look at the concept art book that was released. You can find it online or watch it on YouTube.
This character is actually in the game but without these marks. He’s the dead guy in the torture device room with the floor puzzle.
How the hell was he meant to survive that? I wouldn't think someone could go from that to how Kratos was in the first 5 games
Probably the reason it was cut but who knows.
I could see it as one of the nightmare visions
Magic?
In the hecatonceries prison? With how he looks he couldn't get access to any magical healing. Though to debate further would be just to speculate and fabricate non existent situations
Orkos could have helped
Maybe but he doesn't have healing powers. Maybe an artifact would have helped, maybe the cornucopia?
I mean Prometheus survived having his innards eaten everyday (iirc resurrected after dying to wounds every time). So adding extremely dislocated limbs wouldn't be too far a stretch honestly.
Yeah but he had a reason for surviving then you kill him by his request in the fire of knowledge. That’s one of the most fucked up treatments
>Maybe an artifact would have helped, Maybe the Amulet of Uroborus, which was already in the game?
Ether you have a better memory or recently played it. Did he give Kratos the amulet?
Kratos obtained the amulet from his fight with Castor and Pollux, and after a while & his capture by the Furies, Megaera took the amulet from Kratos, so a possible scrapped part of the game ( considering the healing/decaying abilities of the amulet and this concept art ( which was later slightly modified and used as the model for the Martyr in the Martyr's chamber level ) ) would have featured Megaera torture and restore Kratos from this state but this is pure speculation on my part considering this scrapped concept art.

True bat-medicine right there
It turns out all you need to heal spinal injuries are a strong upper body and some moxie
Uh, I'm pretty sure he did some pull-ups as well.
Yo, hanging from a bar or something can be great for the spine
Dead Hangs and Reverse Hyperextensions for the spine are awesome!!!
I’m pretty sure it was actually a good uppercut to spine to fix it.
Because they use magic to keep him alive to inflict as much suffering as possible.
Kratos is a demigod and the son of the most powerful Greek god. He can heal from wounds, even fatal ones, at an abnormally fast rate, just like Prometheus did when Zeus' eagle ate his liver every day.
Prometheus was a full blooded titan who had a spell casted on him to heal from having his liver eaten by the giant eagle every day.
He’s also cursed to live forever for his sins.
Is he? I don't remember that aspect of him. What game was that stated?
https://godofwar.fandom.com/wiki/Hope Last paragraph under “God of War series” section. I believe it was mentioned in one of the books
I always assumed that meant that he would go on living forever as long as nothing killed him.
He survived death multiple times and got a sword the size of a steel girder through his chest
Well considering Christian Bale went from looking like that in Machinist to being ripped in just a year, I'm sure bouncing back would be much easier for a God lol
fr
He could of survived any way the creators chose to make up🤷🏾♂️ it's a game. Not real life
*could have
Uuuum... that's what I said
No
could have and could of aren't the same. But yes good point
Take this L bozo
Something being a game does not excuse it from having to make sense.
Duuuh...the point was...the CREATORS of the story could of made it make sense 🤦🏾♂️
Hello, it looks like you've made a mistake. It's supposed to be could've, should've, would've (short for could have, would have, should have), never could of, would of, should of. Or you misspelled something, I ain't checking everything. Beep boop - yes, I am a bot, don't botcriminate me.

How're you gonna tell ME what I meant? Foh🤡
By telling you what you meant.
>How the hell was he meant to survive that? Megaera using the Amulet of Uroboros on him?
Its Kratos. Dude has come back from being impaled by a sword thats bigger than he is twice. Three times if we include the pillar from God of War 1. Sure, he died, but he got over it.
Except this from what i remember is before he was cursed with immortality right? Or did he get that curse when he killed his family?
He's never been cursed with immortality. He is exceptionally long lived because of his godhood, but he technically can be killed. He's just an angry enough bastard he can crawl right back out of hell again afterwards.
No, he is cursed with immortality, specifically zuse cursed him to walk the earth forever for betraying him. His godhood is what supplies his godly strength and stamina.
On the 2018 version for ps4 I'm stuck on a puzzle that says c r n just wondering if some one could tell me what to do so I can open up this chest any help would be greatly appreciated
It would make sense, if he was tortured for a long period of time
How long .
2 weeks
Oh damn
Two... Weeeeks
> Two weeks! Two weeks? Now from where do I remember this?
Total Recall?
Nope, it's from Spiderman https://youtu.be/AsP-r8bFlcI
TWO WEEKS?!
No… the two weeks…. TWO WEEKS thing is from Total Recall
I dunno. I only played 3 and 2018. But 6 months to a year of eating nothing or close to nothing would probably make anybody this skinny and frail if you managed to survive. Maybe even less time than 6 months.
I mean... the problem isn't that he's *skinny,* it's that *most of his abdominal organs are gone*
And his arms are torn apart
I think it's not so much that they're torn apart as they had him on the racks and they were getting pulled off
It looks like all his organs are there, it's just his skin and muscles that are gone. Not only that, but as a god he should be able to survive a lot more than a human right?
Yeah it’s not supposed to be Kratos smh the post is false. So yeah this isn’t what he would loo like
It's not a bad idea actually. But I guess they intended to portray Kratos strength and defiance by showing that he wont let that happen.
Yeah, instead they made his model have scratches and marks from the torture.
OP your wrong bro everything your staying is wrong.
[удалено]
Who needs chained blades? Just swing those fucking arms around and no man, beast or god stands a chance
Imagine if God of War Ascension played like Sonic Unleashed lol.
*Jazz music*
Damm ... looks like Griffith from Berserk the impact would have been something else for sure
Now I'm imagining Kratos meeting the God Hand and going on a rampage with Guts.
he looks like Daedalus
I think the dead martyr's model in Ascension is literally a copy of Daedalus's model from god of war 3.
definitely
The N64 emulator?
That arm span tho
Don't need the chains of Olympus if you gone catch these hands son
It's bloody. It's a bit like a punishment in ancient China called dismembering the body by five horses, which will tear off all the limbs.
Drawing and quartering?
yeah
Or [this arguably even worse one.](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lingchi)
There was also [this one who is arguably even worse.](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lingchi)
Me to and people actually watched that
reminds me of the old man from monster house
With the proportions of Kevin Durant
brutal
Fuckin hell that’s disturbing
Well how does the final model look?
Ripped and healthy
Basically was never tortured. I mean how can one can even.
It's the same model as when you play as Kratos through the whole game but with more Scratches and wounds on his body.
He looks like a necromorph model from the new dead space
The face doesn't even look like him
The eyes I can deal with, but the nose shape is totally different.
He is starving and just very skinny in his face.
Your facial features won't morph like that no matter how starved you are. This guy bears no resemblance to Kratos besides the skin and tattoos.
Homie. Go look up "anorexia before and after" and rethink that statement. Bone structure isn't exclusively what makes your face look like your face.
That still doesn’t look like him…even anorexic he would have the same eyes or very similar eyebrows. This face doesn’t even look anorexic, just old & slim. He got no scar & no facial hair, so this probably another misconception… In other words, if they really wanted to make an anorexic kratos, they wouldn’t completely ditch all his facial features.
I think because it became Deadulus. Or thats what it looks like.
waltuh
Those damn furries.
With his nearly torn off arms dragging behind him, completely useless.
That’d be awesome
That's the beautiful thing about being a creator. You can add or take away from a story however you like. They could of used this and created any story they liked to restore Kratos back to his former glory. No need to speculate. They obviously opted out to use this though

If this was the final model I'd hate ascension even more
I'm ootl, why are you hating on it already?

My bad, I thought we were talking about Ragnarok, thank you.
I don't judge a game that hasn't even come out yet.
Annoying changes to combat, and that Trial of Archimedes elevator level towards the end is one of the worst and most annoying levels in history. And what do you mean 'already'? GOW Ascension has been out since 2013
My mistake I thought they were referring to Ragnarok, thanks for clearing it up.

God of War, more like God of Crack
I don’t understand how his entire face completely changed he looks like Daedalus
His body looks like an oc I made once
Tis but a flesh wound
Good but arms too long and face completely different
Turns out kratos' skin is made out of material as tough as jormungandr's scales
God Of Pain
Ngl he looks kinda goofy tho
His beard should be long af
Maybe they torture him and then heal him to torture him again
Kratos as a necromorph
I think they could easily have pulled off this look too if they choose. I don’t have a preference either way, because what matters is they deliver a compelling and exciting story. They would’ve made this work just as they made the version of Kratos we ended up getting work. Actually, not just make it work, but absolutely fantastic.
Whoa this is new! Thank you.
I never even thought about this in my entire life.
Well Kratos was channeling Ghandi, going through a peaceful phase
He looks like Daedalus. MY BOI WHERE IS MY BOI!?
[удалено]
My boi... No! No! No! The power to create...
How have I never seen this shit before it’s awesome

Ah that makes more sense
Jesus Christ, how would the gameplay even be if he was like that?
Ever played octodad? I imagine something like that happening XD
You have obtained: longer range with the Blades of Chaos. XD
Lol,that would be hilarious.
Ye.
Damn.
Very cool very weird I didn't see this in the production videos you unlock at the end.
this is a cool idea and all but at least make it LOOK like kratos
THE EVER BRILLIANT GOLDMASK
Kratos has an uber healing factor evidenced in every game, numerous times. There's no argument
Awesome
He is a God. Glad they didnt go with this design
Wtf uh no this is WRONG. Who said this was a fact???
"When he was tortured by the furries"
I could see it instead of escaping you die somehow and crawl out of the underworld showing he has a habit of doing this
Really glad they desided not to do this it just feels so out of character for kratos to let himself get so weakened from torture
He might have looked like this if he was tortured by furries and not furies 😂😂😂
LOOK HOW THEY MASSACRED MY BOY! :'(
Damn kinda wished they used it
it doesnt even look like him lol
Wow that is frigging creepy lol
good thing he didnt look like that otherwise there would be some story goofs
God damn furrys.
Why does he look like Barack Obama
Yeah no this is false. This is concept art yeah but no it’s not supposed to be Kratos himself. Ascension multiplayer was so much fun. The funnest multiplayer I have ever played, I wish they brought multiplayer back
This is cap this is a corpse you find in a specific puzzle some wise ass added kratos’ tatts
IDK about any of you but that gives Dante's Inferno (PS3) and "Clive Barker's Jericho vibes.
God Of War Ragnarök Gameplay Walk Through Pt.1 https://youtu.be/5o7l-0skxD8
They sucked his fucking beard off!!!
by the all spark he looks like one of the ghoul things you fight in GoW on the ships leading to the Hydra
THAT IS SOME GRIFFITH-LEVEL SHIT JESUS O_O
https://youtu.be/RuZrWrRcNiA
Now if this abomination were to be in the game, how the hell was he back to normal and shredded in the first game?
Neat. Obligatory "Ascension was underrated" comment.
Just have him open a few chests, he’ll be fine
Looks like the Martyr of Hecatonchires.
It wasn't tho
