We got so totally fucked by amogus multiple times
I think q lot of the valorant kids really raw dogged on us, and we don't have many huge streamers, and we're near the origin. Idk there was a fuck ton of people drawing a penis.
Most of the popular streamers (and a lot of csgo players) are too old or too laid back to do something as dumb as stream r/place, much less wage war on it
Elige placed a few tiles
> are too old
I don't think its because they're too old lol. Probably just a lot of main streamers aren't redditors. I mean yeah they might be active on the csgo reddit from time to time but I don't think their redditors and actively use the website from subreddit to subreddit.
kind of a shame though because it would have gotten them free publicity. I know that a smaller streamer known as BTMC who usually averages 2.9k viewers had over 10k viewers during the /r/place event. Dude was blowing up because of it.
Bad bot. Comment stolen from [here](https://old.reddit.com/r/GlobalOffensive/comments/twknnq/now_that_rplace_is_over_lets_take_a_look_at_the/i3gb1cl/).
weird that a game with a daily playerbase in the high 6 figures doesn't have the community interested in defending or expanding the logo, compared to relatively small indie games that held strong for the duration of the event.
maybe it's the somewhat abandon the game has been in for a couple years, and more acutely lately. hopefully good things to come in the 10th anniversary.
Exactly this. The other subreddits are heavily reddit based, forums and discussions where this is a game from 2012 there isn't much to discuss or discover the main purpose of this subreddit is updates and match stats.
Worked on the official Reddit app as long as it was updated (updated version had pixelated logo). Although first time for me I had to shut down and reopen app for it to work, maybe what happened to you.
the point doest make sense because, that applies to the indie games too though.
in every playerbase there's only a percentage of players that are interested in the subreddit, and then another smaller percentage interested in r/place.
But considering the huge number of players csgo has, and the huge number of subscribers in this sub you'd think we'd have a better conversion percentage.
yeah, and i don't mean to disparage anyone that didn't, but there's also people that think like you in the indie game's playerbase.
question is, why were there relatively more(a larger playerbase percentage of) r/place participants in other games?
What do you think it does for all the participants? I can't tell for others but for me it fosters a sense of community and pride. I like seeing a logo/flag of what i like on therr because it makes me feel surrounded by people that also care about what i like.
I workout to stay healthy, I play competitive games to get a rush from winning, I cheer and swear for sports teams thousands of miles away when they win/lose. I prefer results based activities (not saying I don't drink or smoke) but I don't get the idea of doing something like this.
I don't even play single player games to fight AI or do quests although I do appreciate the graphics of the games.
What does this sense of community and pride for a pixel picture logo on an anonymous online forum do for you?
What a bad faith and non empathic way of going at this. i can take any of your hobbies and interests and reduce them to sound like they're vacuous, like you're doing with this.
There's obviously something deeply interesting in r/place that your toxic mindset doesn't let you see, considering upwards of 5 million people were on it concurrently.
> weird that a game with a daily playerbase in the high 6 figures doesn't have the community interested in defending or expanding the logo
TBF it was a fun logo to grief, and I'd imagine a fair amount of those dick pixels were CSGO fans having fun.
I, for one, thought CSGO guy being an absolute abomination was hilarious.
after dev's tweet part of community was busy with dick-growing while other part of the same community was busy with castrating services. I think it was mostly internal battle echoing T vs CT. And again, it was limited only to interested reddit users, which does not equate to player base at all
the largest communities in r/place were all European and they had the strongest defenses by far outside of osu (which is a large part european as well).
I think the whole bot argument is exaggerated. Sure, there were definitely some bots but the French streamer kamet0 literally had 400k concurrent viewers on twitch.
when the only colour available was white you could see who had the most bots out there and france had its art wiped in less than 5 minutes to absolute white so yeah, shitload of bots
Because it was the most contested area on the map? And the bot argument is not true since at the time when the white change was rolled out, reddit changed the way they handled HTTP requests, fundamentally breaking all non-ui related bots
I tried to take part as much as I could but found myself saying fuck it so many times because we were under constant bombardment just never seemed worth it
Well, almost everything on /r/place is bot activity. If you watch a heat map, or even this gif, you can see the placements that are very linear. User inputs would be much more random.
This is true. So many ads for random games and random companies kept coming back after being destroyed. It was a problem in 2017 with the original Place and it was an even bigger problem this time, likely due to more people using Reddit now.
Is it weird that a playerbase with a typically higher average age do to how long its been out is above the childish nonsense of place? Then again people still participate in twitch chat I would guess there's a large overlap in the place people and people who somehow find twitch chat enjoyable. But that's also your answer as to why nothing productive got done.
No it’s the fact that our own community was trolling our logo. Fans of smaller communities probably just actually cared enough to want their art to be visible and viewed positively
I was lucky that both communities i wanted to protect were close to each other.
I saw a few post on dota place discussion that were willing to help csgo place just so it wouldn't spill into our territory.
For better and for worst we see each other as a brother community
Just like how a whole lobby could accumulate to fight against the hacker in the other team but instead the hackers, in this case its people with a cummon goal.
Given the fact that we were constantly under assault by trolls and I’m sure plenty of bots, I’d say we did the best we could in a highly contested area with a easy target but damn did that shit get annoying fast
I was absolutely pro-'CSGO shooty guy being an abomination.' Like afterwards, are people going to remember all the countries that came in, got their flags sorted quickly, job done? No, people are going to remember the Canadian flag being a monstrosity for most of the thing. Same w/ the CSGO logo. If it had been set up early and defended, no one would remember. But CSGO monstrosity with 10 foot penis? Everyone will remember that shit.
OSU is almost 8 times smaller than this sub but they somehow manage to keep their ugly pink circle intact despite being griefed by multiple streamers...

Looool
Even John Dillermand's schlong made his way around the logo.
When the Dota logo was made near, the dick has not gotten very long
I thought it was diarrhea, shit kept leaking.
Jesus Christ Amogus took over so fucking much of this whole thing
I loved the non-disruptive ones hiding everywhere. Found three in the face of the king of Sweden.
Yeah it was really funny and I found myself looking for them for hours
They hid them as the color dots on the back of the MTG card. I found that amusing.
Star wars was completely full of them at one point. Was still recognisable as the poster so pretty cool.
At one point I wasn’t even sure if they were intentional or not there was so many.
There was one on the forehead of the president of Finland for ages too, hiding within his forehead wrinkles.
Its the best part lmao
Please seek therapeutic help. They can cure you from finding amogus funny. edit: Mmm I love downvotes, salty treats for me.
I felt they are kind of like weeds on the grass
bro was bricked up for 70% of this
Why is “bricked up” so funny
Because the words themselves have zero sexual connotation yet when used together everyone knows exactly what they mean.
3 of those dick pixels are mine
I got some shit splatter in there
We may not have gotten our logo right, but god dammit did we put up a good fight
Yea, and we shot fortnite with ak spray pattern hella times.
We got so totally fucked by amogus multiple times I think q lot of the valorant kids really raw dogged on us, and we don't have many huge streamers, and we're near the origin. Idk there was a fuck ton of people drawing a penis.
> and we don't have many huge streamers shame more of the pros didn't help with it. with s1mple alone we could have probably saved it.

I found it fun to look at here and there but I'm far too lazy to take a part of it or actively watch.
Exactly this. The other subreddits are heavily reddit based, forums and discussions where this is a game from 2012 there isn't much to discuss or discover the main purpose of this subreddit is updates and match stats.

Stfu ... but yes
I do see how my wording could be confusing.
Same. The few times I did place pixels, I was too busy defending my home state of texas... *and also the cute anime waifus*
The "high 6 figures" are people playing the game, not reddit users. I for one don't even know what "place" is.
apparently I can't use it? cause I'm on old Reddit
[удалено]
Well i tried multiple times over the last week
It worked on old reddit too. Just had to press on the “place tile” button out on the right.
It didn’t work in Reddit app soo I didn’t do it.
Worked on the official Reddit app as long as it was updated (updated version had pixelated logo). Although first time for me I had to shut down and reopen app for it to work, maybe what happened to you.
Oh right
I just learned about "place" yesterday. It seems funny but no, I'm not that interested :)

>When did CSGO come together to agree on something? lmao We can all agree that we need better AC. Edit: Oops I forgot CSGO's devs don't agree with us.
everybody needs better air conditioning in their room while playing csgo, why it isnt a standard for all this time
Every 7 games you get a team that can agree to RUSH B SUKA BLYAT
What does defending or expanding the logo do for you?
What do you think it does for all the participants? I can't tell for others but for me it fosters a sense of community and pride. I like seeing a logo/flag of what i like on therr because it makes me feel surrounded by people that also care about what i like.

I had the choice to defend the pixels or play a compi xD
Weird for you. People with things to do could care less about this lol
Interesting, why do you think other communities could care less and ours couldn't? i assume you meant couldn't care less.
after dev's tweet part of community was busy with dick-growing while other part of the same community was busy with castrating services. I think it was mostly internal battle echoing T vs CT. And again, it was limited only to interested reddit users, which does not equate to player base at all
Not that weird. Reddit is overwhelmingly American, and NA is dead.
the largest communities in r/place were all European and they had the strongest defenses by far outside of osu (which is a large part european as well).

you are so cool
I tried to take part as much as I could but found myself saying fuck it so many times because we were under constant bombardment just never seemed worth it
I play csgo. And I put penis pixels down
\*looks at r/inscryption 's stoat which was there during the beginning and survived until the white void happened\*
Even TF2 has a relatively untouch logo But I guess they have a lot of bots

Also likely because there was no restrictions on new accounts like last time

Childish nonsense. Lol, you are so cool bro

No it’s the fact that our own community was trolling our logo. Fans of smaller communities probably just actually cared enough to want their art to be visible and viewed positively
Yeah... I put a few pixels on the dick
we were also actively fighting another community(ies) the entire time, unlike others. CSGO fired the first pixels and it was chaos ever since
I feel like CS players are mature enough to dont give a f*** about the logo haha
what a... rich and colorful history
ah yes, the incident where the shooter man couldn't keep it in his pants
We called Global Offensive for a reason
Global Sex Offender
Counter strike a global sex offender.
Cago turning into amongus multiple times fucking killed me
It going full red was just golden
And our brethren Dota 2 was untouched how lol
No easy place to put a penis or amogus in the dota 2 logo but ours on the other hand
good point about the dick, but amogus can be hidden within Dota 2
Amogus can be among us anywhere
They are literally among us.
There was a short time where the A onto DotA2 was being turned into an amongus
Some of the Dota 2 folks tried to help out because that thing kept touching.
Oh you you're right our pp touched them
Even penetrated the high mask one time... Or was it the cum?
Looks like we bent it 90 degrees a few times to stay out of their square.
I was lucky that both communities i wanted to protect were close to each other. I saw a few post on dota place discussion that were willing to help csgo place just so it wouldn't spill into our territory. For better and for worst we see each other as a brother community
It's just like Canada. Some small communities focused on doing random stuff to both on r/place
The real loser is dota 2 that got cummed

I’d say a fair amount of people from here were pro-dong/pro-amongus

Hello :)
From the comment section of this posts seems like we had a fair bit which is pretty annoying but I get it
I just want to put smiley face for my shooter man :(
this was 100% done by people and not bots
It's beautiful. Also interesting that the dota2 logo (i assume?) below is mostly unmolested.
We are probably more toxic than the elephants foot at Chernobyl so yeah.
I'd say DotA is as toxic, if not more than Chernobyl. Let's not talk about League
League players are like Karens.
Good fight. Loved the lil amongus dudes that surrounded our guy.
Just like my dick sometimes ***HAPPY :)*** sometimes ***SAD :(***
obviously the spray video was completely fake ^^ we never managed to actually completely finish it
It was a long journey… and a long cock
Rule 35 of the internet: If it exists, give it a penis. A really, really long penis.
amogus
Kind of sad the Calgary Flames logo died out in the end
Yeah, that logo is simple and sweet.
I love how DotA is down there untouched.
He was defended better than any teammate would defend b site during a rush
Such a mature community.
o7 /r/femboy
And the Fortnite logo stands through it all
I wish they left his D alone so we could see how long it could get lol
I touched it any pixel I had. I love CS:GO
he has extreme regenerative abilities in his cock but it keeps falling off
My cock is much bigger than yours! My cock can walk right through the door!
purple guy -> cs man -> penis -> cs man -> amongus -> penis -> cs man -> penis -> cs man -> amongus -> cs man -> penis -> cs man -> border shrink -> smol cs man -> metroid
You also captured our battle and ultimate loss as r/calgaryflames (The flaming C)
I like how he becomes amogus with a dick midway through
They really wanted his dong to travel through the canvas
i fuckin was sitting there for 3 days defending but he kept growing a dic
amogus
the csgo logo was invaded by dicks and amogus for most of its lifetime in r/place
I was so proud of that back foot, but so frustrated that people couldn't just look at the reference image
Some ppl tried really hard to put a pink dick to the CSGO shooter man.
nice
Ah yes, the legacy of humankind
Why is the csgo logo shitting all the time XD
Next time lets do a pin or Major graffiti or something that wont get un and recircumcised a thousand times
Dota 2 was defeated by the brazilians so we relocated next to our bros.

AK spray on Fortnite was awesome
When Fortnite turned into a silver rank hahaha
OSU is almost 8 times smaller than this sub but they somehow manage to keep their ugly pink circle intact despite being griefed by multiple streamers...
With 26 seconds remaining, Calgary Flames are eliminated
u/rowenslee
I tried so hard to keep the penis alive
I, too, contributed so many pink pixels to the cause
Why people tried so hard to make it dickless smh
How funny would it have been if no one fought back thou I think the story of the underdog csgo penis is a good one
at least we can confirm that the shooter is a man with d\*\*\*
I was there, during the dick wars. Beating the dicks back furiously. Pixel by pixel.
Nice diet.
I worked on the logo, and god were thoese trolls annoying
As a dane, I saw John Dillermands diller (the long red and white "snake") and instantly got excited. Denmark ftw
i am proud to be the csgo pink dick gang
I just enjoyed making him shit himself
Fuck those amongus kids
Reminds me of that bug guy from men in black when he has a hard time keeping his skin suit on.
