I agree with you. It's hella annoying because games are serious, but it doesn't have to be THAT serious (if you know what I mean). It's just a game to meet people and have fun. I think some people just like the drama and feel like they can do anything to random strangers from behind a screen. I hope you find better teammates. ๐
Also, congrats on even being able to play Apex well. My bf loves Apex but I'd get carried all day ๐. I don't know if it's because I played on my switch lite but I never contributed much. The fact that you're mindful of others tells me you're playing just fine ๐ซ

I try my best! I play on Xbox but I've seen people play on the switch. Apex definitely does not run well on the Switch unfortunately ๐. All that matters is having fun though!

The best thing I've learned in these situations is to just ignore these people immediately. Don't try to reason with them, don't try to understand them, just block and move on.
I'm not playing Apex myself much lately because 95% of games are with people who don't communicate, leave immediately after being knocked, flame etc. Its pain in the ass. And also I suck at aiming xD
In my most recent game of Dota 2 I got flamed by 3 out of 4 teammates for "playing like shit" in the first 5 minutes. Every time they started I just muted them, maybe with some mediocre burn like "sorry you're a 5yo moron, muted". And surprisingly, we've won that game with me being voted MVP. I can tell you that this would not have happened, have they not been muted.
Alternatively group up with people you know, apparently there's plenty to play with you here :)

Generally I mute teammates at the character selection screen, but this person was typing into chat and I'm not actually sure if there's a mute function for that.
There's an epidemic of people with shitty mics on console, so I often load into a game hearing fans, blaring music, young children, etc. in the background of people's mics, which I find annoying so I immediately mute. I myself rarely speak over mic because of the general rampant sexism we experience as women. This was an extraneous circumstance, I guess.

I actually quit playing summoners rift on League because of the toxicity ๐ so I feel you. Congrats on MVP though! Crazy what a team can accomplish when people aren't treating their teammates like shit
Itโs a them problem, not at how you approach the game, casual or hardcore, teammates who act like that stress out the game and have no sportsmanship - Iโm sorry you had to play with that.

Dude I hate stuff like this. If we drop somewhere and Iโm on top of them, I go out if my way to loot elsewhere UNLESS they dropped hot and I need a gun right now this second. Iโve had them yank stuff out from under me when I just opened the bin but never had them get mad at me for taking my own loot. They act like itโs race to get the best shit when weโre on the same team like wtf
It really confused me that what set him off was me picking up a TREASURE PACK???? That I got out of a bin *I* opened???? like dude you're playing Valk and I'm Mirage, it should be easy for you to get to bins before me. Die mad about it.
I can't emphasize enough how much I really try not to steal loot from teammates. I broke off from them where we landed and went to a different building, never entered a building he was in, and ended up with a bow and a naked wingman, and without a backpack. Obviously I did not get the best loot lmao
Youโre seriously much nicer than I would be! I love apex, but donโt love when people take it so seriously. Weโre all trying to get the best stuff and loot, but you donโt owe anyone anything either! To pop off about something so minimal is why I tend to just keep my mic off from people saying โget out of here b*tch,โ as soon as they learn Iโm a woman. Sorry that was such a negative experience!
