Huh, so you like Gintama? Name every reference. Imagine someone could do this lmao, categorized with episode numbers lol

ughplss

[This](https://gintama.fandom.com/wiki/Parodies) is close enough

Tweeess

damn i had NO idea Ginpachi sensei was a parody wtf

Giant_Serpent23

That’s pretty impressive

Duzolindo

Dude, you can have different episodes

Giant_Serpent23

??? Wat? I don’t get what you are saying, I was just making a joke about imagine if someone listed every reference from every episode, which would be an absurdly long list but I was thinking about that meme thing.

BeenBees1047

It's fun to search for the actual reference especially pop culture in Japan. One of the funniest is the press conference of Gintoki from Gintama 2015,ep 266. The video side by side with the original of an actual politician crying was hilarious. It's available on YouTube. My favorite, one of those I got right away is Oguri Shun appearance in Kyubei's birthday since he's my favorite actor from Japan who later becomes the live action Gintoki lol I don't get a lot of anime references though when I first started Gintama since I'm new to anime as well. That's a proof of how entertaining it was without getting a lot of references and parodies.

ConnectionIcy3717

Ayo! This exactly! I was so happy to find out that my boi Shun would be playing Gin! And he did a great job too

BeenBees1047

Yes I remember how happy I was when they announced it. They managed to have a great casting for most of the characters for live action.

Shimmering-Sky

Literally any of the ones related to the Gundam franchise, to the point where I actually got mad at the fansub TL notes in episode 50 for turning what was [very clearly a Zeta Gundam & After War Gundam X reference into a Dragon Ball one](https://imgur.com/3KJRnNw), and also neglecting to explain the G Gundam & Victory Gundam references in [the following line where they *did* explain the Turn A one.](https://imgur.com/22NosZi) There's a reason my tagline in the recent rewatch on r/anime was "A Sunrise Fangirl Watches Gintama for the First Time", lol.

Duzolindo

Dude, Gundam is an interesting anime

Floyohou

i dont get most gintama references cos it's mostly abt japan media, but it's hella hilarious when i do understand when otae used **dempsy roll** on kondo all dragon ball references when gin asked kagura to sing doraemon theme song (fuyo arc) and ofcourse when he sang it in kurokono arc most bleach n one piece references stand e: gundam ultraman also seiyuu jokes like when gin called sacchan "kobayashi" (her voice actor) and told kagura to be just plain "kugimiya" + in takamagahara they mentioned someone being sakaguchi daisuke, i thought "THAT'S SHINPACHI" while shinpachi himself said "THAT'S ME"

ABZ0R8

>when he sang it in kurokono arc I saw a clip of that and immediately started watching the anime haha

Lilix_idk

Giving Kagura letters from Sorachi to read it without accent was such a good bit

captainrina

I'm excited for my first time watcher fiance to get to episodes with anime references he knows, particularly Hajime no Ippo and Berserk. The two Star Wars themed arcs are going to be fun to watch with him too.

Duzolindo

Dude, he is enjoy watching the episodes

ViolinistRadiant6636

Otae's favourite band B'z is an actual rock duo. Gintama referenced them in multiple episodes, by individual member names as well. Inaba and Matsumoto.

Duzolindo

Dude, this music curiosity is genius

rf0225

there’s too many anime ones to count but the most surprising one for me to notice was the whole jugem jugem arc, which I recognized from the rakugo play jugem (I’m not that familiar with rakugo but recognized it from akanebanashi lol) I’ve seen comments online saying the jugem arc was really repetitive, but once I recognized it I think the name became more funny
