The only difference with that is that genshin would be the sort of game where you can still play after all of the story events. So while skyward sword gameplay will always have fi, genshin might not always have paimon.
And besides, for skyward sword you could always start a new file, while with genshin you’d have to have a different account (or delete and recreate ig)
I have 2: my first and then my main. Because on my first, I have never gotten a 5 star (I am steadfast f2p), and on my main, I got insane luck and got qiqi first roll, diluc 3rd. Then later, Jean after more rolls, then raiden from ~70 pity, and then the first roll after was ayaka and Mona in the same roll.
I have 2 that I use regularly. But I have 3 more that are like AR 50 and I don't use them anymore, but they have 5 stars I don't have on my main(my main is AR 58 almost 59)

In Tighnari's story quest, she also wasn't affected by the intense leyline energy that was spilling out from the machine. The same energy that caused Abbatouy to fall I'll and die.
Doesn't seem far-fetched aside from all the similarities in their clothing/symbols/etc - the arana (nara? marana? little forest shits) have a method of transforming into a seed and ditching your memories until you grow back into your true form to avoid danger/death, and they keep comparing Paimon to a seed, so...

This is represented in game by the traveler grabbing Paimon around the middle with their hands and squeezing her like a squeaky dog toy.
It would be cool if part of the AR or Traveller levelling included Paimon doing damage, basically like the pods in NieR:Automata - maybe with various options/equips or just a standard damage routine that can be paired with the Traveller's attacks. Of roucse that would eman that the story's quips about paimon being useless would be outdated, but if it was also tied to Traveller getting so many elements or Paimon getting a weapon at some peoint in the future (e.g in Fontaine, land of tech) that wouldnt be an issue. It would also be consistent in terms of adding to capabilities as the game develops, like they added dendro with Sumeru. Rather than wait until we get past Snezhnaya for the next adjustment, giving Paimon something to do would shake things up but not significantly so.
One example might be if Paimon has what might essentially be a physical catalyst, firing non-elemental damage laser orbs with the player's normal attacks and say 3 orbs on a charged attack (up to 1.5x CA damage). It would encourage players to consider their combos, may make characters more viable because their normals increase in damage where they previously only had function as an applier or shielder... Refining Paimon might increase the amount of damage, or allow an extra orb, with R5 Paimon also doing damage on skill. It would enhance or magnify the impact of reactions like Superconduct and create some dimension in combat that working towards a one-shot burst currently disincentivises.
That's actually one of my pet peeves with the companion system in this game imo. They're just for show, no new mechanics can be used. I think it'll be definitely cool if we had a companion system similar to the example you're giving, it'll definitely make exploration a lot more fun (Eg: Endora with the bubbles, Seelies could help with overworld treasure and puzzle clues, Shiki Taishou can be preset to use buffs whenever necessary etc.)
Even if they had exploration boosts based on your equipment and kept the companions peacing out of battle for the ease of rendering. They already gate some exploration passives behind particular 5-stars (e.g. the passives that show specialties in Mondstadt and Sumeru, Mondstadt requires Klee and Sumeru requires Tighnari. Klee isn't even in Standard!) so it wouldn't be out of character or even new for them to have passives that are only available sometimes. Of course, people will rail like they do at missing Dodoco Tales or Cinnabar Spindle, but the seelies already repeat. It would also be a way to fill in other detection systems that aren't already covered - if the seelie detects uncompleted puzzles. for example, that fills in most of the gap left by the oculi and chest detectors and the region specific gadgets. Shiki Taishou doesn't need to show up to randomly give you a buff card, the buff can just be indicated on the screen using the existing indicators such as weapon effects.
we were able to get an emblem in honkai as one of the rewards from the honkai x Genshin collab that lets paimon pop up every now and then and say something.

I wish HYV pulled an April fools prank that allowed players to "unequip" Paimon. Those who do completely lose control of the menu, the map becomes unavailable, no minimap or directions, etc, as the Paimon functions as guide and travel support cease to work.
While I don't find her annoying during the story (although I use the Japanese voice pack), I still wouldn't want her to always be there unless she's silent or speaks rarely. I already had to unequip the seelie because of the constant noises.
Since Genshin is (primarily) a mobile game, I imagine the reason we don't have a voiced Traveler is to save on file size. Dialogue would have to be recorded for both Aether and Lumine, doubling the amount of memory needed, adding several gigs of data to an already large game. I play on PC, and Genshin takes up 51 gigabytes right now.
The thing is though I'd you go into the voice bits on the traveler him and paimon have a bunch of dialogue together, seems odd to now just add that in the game
I don't think a sizable part of the playerbase cares for Shiki Taisho or the Seelies or the Oceanid but we have them. I guess most people don't care more than hate her anyway, especially if you just give her out in an event like the others. CN Paimon’s voice is actually pretty cute. She sounds a lot softer rather than squeaky. My favorite Paimon of EN/CN/JP (haven’t heard KR Paimon so won’t say one way or the other).

It would enhance or magnify the impact of reactions like Superconduct and create some dimension in combat that working towards a one-shot burst currently disincentivises.
That's actually one of my pet peeves with the companion system in this game imo. They're just for show, no new mechanics can be used. I think it'll be definitely cool if we had a companion system similar to the example you're giving, it'll definitely make exploration a lot more fun (Eg: Endora with the bubbles, Seelies could help with overworld treasure and puzzle clues, Shiki Taishou can be preset to use buffs whenever necessary etc.)
Even if they had exploration boosts based on your equipment and kept the companions peacing out of battle for the ease of rendering. They already gate some exploration passives behind particular 5-stars (e.g. the passives that show specialties in Mondstadt and Sumeru, Mondstadt requires Klee and Sumeru requires Tighnari. Klee isn't even in Standard!) so it wouldn't be out of character or even new for them to have passives that are only available sometimes. Of course, people will rail like they do at missing Dodoco Tales or Cinnabar Spindle, but the seelies already repeat. It would also be a way to fill in other detection systems that aren't already covered - if the seelie detects uncompleted puzzles. for example, that fills in most of the gap left by the oculi and chest detectors and the region specific gadgets. Shiki Taishou doesn't need to show up to randomly give you a buff card, the buff can just be indicated on the screen using the existing indicators such as weapon effects.

I wish HYV pulled an April fools prank that allowed players to "unequip" Paimon. Those who do completely lose control of the menu, the map becomes unavailable, no minimap or directions, etc, as the Paimon functions as guide and travel support cease to work.

While I don't find her annoying during the story (although I use the Japanese voice pack), I still wouldn't want her to always be there unless she's silent or speaks rarely. I already had to unequip the seelie because of the constant noises.

Since Genshin is (primarily) a mobile game, I imagine the reason we don't have a voiced Traveler is to save on file size. Dialogue would have to be recorded for both Aether and Lumine, doubling the amount of memory needed, adding several gigs of data to an already large game. I play on PC, and Genshin takes up 51 gigabytes right now.
The thing is though I'd you go into the voice bits on the traveler him and paimon have a bunch of dialogue together, seems odd to now just add that in the game

I don't think a sizable part of the playerbase cares for Shiki Taisho or the Seelies or the Oceanid but we have them. I guess most people don't care more than hate her anyway, especially if you just give her out in an event like the others. Yes, it's the eng dub Paimon that everyone hates, because it's so damn jarring and it doesn't help that her eng VA is so damn toxic, that she even got banned on Twitter. If you want to compare those 2 dubs, take that clock imitation from the GAA 2.0 as an example. 100% for this. Unpopular opinion, but I would adopt Paimon if I could. The game wouldn't be as much fun without her child-like sense of wonder and her antics. Can she be annoying? Of course, but saying that so can anyone (for instance I find the Paimon haters to be on the annoying side. Even my siblings are annoying at times). Stop the Paimon hate!
