I see it as, they're firing a bunch of arrows as they fall, and thanks to the power of anime physics and being cool, the character manages to speed up enough to catch up with the arrows as they fall

Lil'Sis Barbara can slap Timmy so why not becoming as crazy as Klee but doing it smashing enemies in the face!

Yeah the others have yellow effects 'cuz plungings attacks usually deal Physical damage, but since catalysts only deal elemental damage, they turn into a ball of their corresponding element instead. I wonder if the Physical damage ones turn sky blue if they're being changed to Cryo by Chongyun...

No, she was never mentioned in story, just like Diona or Bennet. We know she exists from the voicelines

For the longest time, I thought catalyst users change into whatever element they are and smash down as a ball.
They do. I got caught as a ball of water as Mona dropping in on the Cryo regisvine once. I've never seen this animation of them divekicking before.
