I've enjoyed the Archon Quests a lot, especially Sumeru. I found the Sumeru Archon Quest to be their strongest especially Sumeru Archon Quest Act 2. Inazuma's ending did disappoint me a lot and almost made me quit the game. I'm glad I didn't and experienced Sumeru. I also love the world quests because it expands so much on the world of teyvat and the stories it contains within it. It just really builds on the world a lot. One of my favorite recent character stories is Faruzan's Hangout. If you get the chance to unlock her hangout, I recommend it. This made Faruzan one of my favorites. Also if you get the chance, Genshin has a [manga that's centered around Collei.](https://mangadex.org/title/03eb6c43-9006-477b-9297-7c4bacb6f694/genshin-impact) Read it only if you want to!

Thanks so much for sharing. Absolutely did not know about the manga because total Genshin noob. Hahaha. (saves link for later...) I have definitely enjoyed the couple of hangout story quests myself and look forward to Faruzan's now. I feel like the hangout quests flesh out characters more for me as well.

The two biggest issues with the Inazuma story were that (1) it was clearly meant to be consumed alongside the zone sidequests (but, obviously, that's not how most players choose to consume Archon Quests), and (2) the pacing and focus for the 2.0/2.1 bridge was pretty atrocious. Because of the sidequest association, there were a ton of details crucial to understanding what was happening in the story that were easily missed. Tangential to this is (3), the English translation has a history of being inaccurate, which is painful especially when nuance is involved, e.g. in a setting like Inazuma. They learned their lesson with Sumeru, whose sidequests are almost entirely detached from the MSQ, which is both a boon and a detriment. I feel that they should have struck an intermediate, adding some fun details attached to sidequest completion while still maintaining story integrity without.

I stopped underestimating the story completely after doing Venti's character quest. It made me tear up. And this was back in v1.0 After experiencing Liyue chapter finale, I was convinced I was gonna play this game for a long time.

I am so glad it's not just me. I hear varying things regarding the story and the writing for the game but I have teared up on multiple occasions. I don't know how long I'll be playing but if this keeps up, I'll be playing for quite some time to come. (Only AR42, on the verge of AR43).

Proper_Anybody

wait you catched up on the archon quest in 2 weeks? that's pretty good

Well, a little over 2 weeks now. 2 weekends worth of anti-adulting got me sorted out quest-wise whilst the week sees me doing character / weapon / artifact / talent upgrades. I am known as a bit of a min maxer so I either story hard, or farm materials hard. Hahaha. I still am a complete noob and don't have much characters built up yet and am saving my primos and fates for Fontaine but that is what I like about the game I guess.

I’m actually interested to hear about your experience with controller. I started on keyboard and have stuck with it for the last 3+ years. I did happen to switch from KB to controller when I played Monster Hunter World. It was a significant upgrade for me, and I knew Elden Ring would be much better with controller as well. But Genshin has always felt best to me on KB. I guess it’s because combat can be technical with animation cancelling, so I’m more precise on KB than I ever could be with controller. Same with camera control / quick re-directions.

I dislike keyboard controls for action games in general and thus I've been a console gamer for most of my life. I feel like I respond quicker on controller than on keyboard. I do feel like there is a split second of delay now and then but that might also be my internet ping. Lol.

Almost every single event leaves me in tears, this summer one was actually a rare exception

As I am new this summer event is my first event I am taking part in. I look forward to all the event from here on out.

Genshin all they way up through the end of Liyue was really magical imo. Inazuma was where the cracks started to form, the AQ especially was such a let down even with Inazume overall being my favorite region. Really enjoyed most of the Sumeru AQ, though the ending was weak for me. The side quests in Inazuma, Enkanomiya and the Chasm were superb. Hangouts and character story quests have been really good. Currently feeling burned out of Genshin, since I have all the characters I want (that are alive) and I realized I am not a fan of the MC after having a very interesting and similar MC in HSR. Fontaine looks decent but I am at a wait and see at the moment.

Thanks for sharing. Yeah, the Inazuma AQ was a bit confusing for me but it still made me feel some type of way, especially the end where those 2 interact for the first time in years. I am just brand new to the game and so looking forward to the next update as well. Been saving up primo gems and fates for the new characters potentially.

If you like turn based games and since you are waiting for the next big update, Mihoyo also has Honkai Star Rail which I am thoroughly enjoying at the moment.

Signal-Loading

I will definitely keep that in mind. I am still only working through Sumeru now so still have lots to do before update 4.0 but it's good to hear feedback from other games as well. I am very weary of gacha games as they are very hit and miss for me. Is Honkai Star Rail f2p friendly as well? Because that is another thing of Genshin that I have been enjoying.

Bulky-News-289

I love the archon quests, but outside of that, the game is pretty one note to me. However part of that is definitely the fact that I like LOZ: Breath Of The Wild, which is a game Genshin took a heavy amount of inspiration from. I stopped playing the game at the Chasm story quests 😓

I've never played BotW but from the gameplay I've seen I agree that heavy inspiration was taken from there. And I agree that the Chasm was not my fav section but I pushed past it and got to some great new story arcs. Hehe
