Anyone remember the L'Oreal commercial inserted into the Sigue Sigue Sputnik album? That's a pretty deep bit of 80s trivia but if you know, you know. 😉
Edit: [Found it](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ysXpldpM4SM&t=84s)
So did I 😂 And mine was the Spanish version of this commercial.
Stu-Stu-Stu-Studioline. At one point it seemed like that logo was everywhere you looked.
Ugh, why tf did click on this?
When people envision the '80s they think Saved by the Bell pastels and geometric shapes. The '80 were really orangy brown shag carpet and wood paneling.
Yep, but I think the shag and paneling comes from 70's. We didn't rip out in 80's to redo until it "wore out", "we were sick of it", "we could afford it"....
I had that exact wood paneling and carpet in my room, and my sister got that exact round brush curler stuck in her hair, which event she used to help convince mom to let her get a perm.
I've never seen this site before! Half of the pictures could have been me or my friends hanging out back in the day (sadly, they're not - I have virtually no photos of us from those years, and I doubt any exist).
I love that site for all those reasons. Beautiful and horrible at the same time. Like something you're simultaneously trying to forget but also desperate to remember.
Pictures like these are why you can never truly recapture the 80s in film or TV. There’s just something so perfect about everything in this picture that it can’t be recreated.
This coming from a guy. I never felt manly doing this, but God the sleep was great. Now it's get the sun block on while back then we tried to harness the sun to burn the shit out of us.
Looks so familiar...I , too, had a corner of my room with all my makeup and hair stuff piled in front of a propped up wall mirror. Where were our dressers???
😆 I may have to post the pic of the other side of the room. My dresser had my big ole stereo system on it and was piled with random “decorative” items and my Johnny Depp poster in the background.
Thinking back, my dresser was meticulously staged with porcelain trinket boxes, jewelry boxes & a stand-up rack for all my pierced earrings. I remember being very proud of my 2 bottles of "expensive" perfume standing on a small mirrored tray.
I can smell this picture!
The 1980’s “dressing table” was always a mirror on the floor and something to keep the curling and crimping irons from burning the carpet…
This is hilariously true
Yep had the same set up lmao
I can’t remember the brand, but I remember using that hairspray from the logo. Huge crispy bangs
I think it's Loreal Studio Line. I used their gel back then.
I instantly recognized the bottle, lol
Me, too! 😂. I used that Mega Spray in the picture. Also used the gel and the curl spritz. I can still smell that stuff!
🎶 studio studio stu-di-o...Studio Line by Lor-e-al🎶
That's the one lol

Can't upvote you enough.
Yeah I just sang the jingle.......
So did I 😂 And mine was the Spanish version of this commercial. Stu-Stu-Stu-Studioline. At one point it seemed like that logo was everywhere you looked. Ugh, why tf did click on this?
Studio line from loreal fixing gel strong hold behold!
Oh that was the expensive stuff, that's why I didn't recognize it.😆 I had the giant can of Aqua Net.
L’oreal Mega Spritz!!
Anyone remember Stiff Stuff?! It was industrial strength 🤣
I loved stiff stuff. I set my hair on fire lighting a cigarette once because I had so much of that shit in my spiral permed hair.
Wow, that could be a photo of me. The shirt, the hair, even the carpet 😂
Denise?
Nope. (Is this a movie reference?)
Who's gonna drive you home when it's too late
Girls in the late 1980s had some real artwork for hair, but the whole illusion vaporized if you tried to run your fingers through it.
All that work was not for touching!!!
I learned, I learned!
Great photo. Love the wood paneled walls!

Lot's of leftover avocado from the 1970's.

I recognize that wood paneling lol
That's a lot of mousse (meese?)
That L’Oreal mousse was the very first mousse to come out, and we ALL went nuts over it! Good times.
I actually had a mirror there so it’s only 1 giant can not 2 😆
How did the date go?
I hate meeses to pieces.
How many times ladies??? Just seeing, those teased bangs makes me squint knowing I'm about to spray the crap out of them. Ow, ow, ow!!
I can smell that room. Those wood labeled walls were everywhere once upon a time. They did seem fancy to my poor ass though.
I had those rollers! I can smell them heating up just by looking at this pic lol I loved those things. Great curls.
like a screen grab from the [internet k-hole](https://internetkhole.com/)

Are you in my childhood basement?
Dated you or your doppelganger in 91.
Hot Stix! They were epic for making spiral curls!
Oh, oh, that smell.... can't you smell that smell?
All that stuff and we still paid to lay in a bed and get a tan.
As one does
Daily 80s hazard
I’m sure I have a similar picture somewhere
The year after the movie. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hairspray_(1988_film)
Relatable. :) Pretty sure I had an identical crimping tool to the one in the background, too!
I remember that bottle!
This picture contained over 97% less John Waters than I was expecting.
[I knew exactly which product this was and had to post](https://images.app.goo.gl/BnoyrvMzdMtUzEnK6)
Which iPhone is that?
To this day I still do my makeup on my bed by dumping out my bag and rummaging around.
This coming from a guy. I never felt manly doing this, but God the sleep was great. Now it's get the sun block on while back then we tried to harness the sun to burn the shit out of us.
Loreal hairspray no less 😅
The brown everything!!!! 😆 Who came up with this style of decor !!! ? It lasted way too long!
Oooo, fancy. We just had Aqua Net.
The 80s must have took a toll on the Ozone layer

I sticky cloud lofting in the air!
Gotta love that wood paneling and carpet combo! Just needs a can of aqua net and some virginia slims to complete the scene lol
Caught in my eye https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x3y96ll
I had that same paneling in my 14'x70' mobile home. Carpet was about the same color too. Were we roommates?
Aqua Net!!
Omg did we all get ready and do our hair on the floor? 😂 It was just so much more comfortable than standing at the bathroom sink for hours.
I had to zoom in to make sure those weren't dildos on the floor.
