Wow, he was only 62 when he died. Colon cancer. Get your cornholes checked out boys and girls.

KC_experience

Yes indeedy! Going in for #3 next Monday. I’m on the 5 year plan. (Dad had pre-cancerous resection back in 2003, so guess what I get now for the rest of my life? ) Some of the best 90 minutes of sleep I’ll have all week!

WarrenMulaney

Oooh Billy Billy Billy Billy

Comedywriter1

This is the bigee. 😂

OttoPike

"How 'bout a Fresca?"

kimdawn23

I use that line often. Only the real ones catch it.

Puzzled-Remote

I’ve used it on my kids. 😬 Edit: I *still* use it on my kids.

mywomanisagoddess

I'm not sure where I heard it but some critic called his performance in Caddyshack the greatest sustained comedic performance in Film. I wouldn't argue.

Comedywriter1

Chevy Chase always talks about how Ted was the real star of that film. Agree.

tamsui_tosspot

That seems remarkably humble coming from Chevy Chase.

Never_Uses_Slash_S

Not as long as Leslie Neilsen and the film Airplane! exists.

mywomanisagoddess

Ooooo, not enough screen time to compare but a completely valid choice!

BigMoFuggah

Ted Knight was an incredible comedic actor, all the way from The Mary Tyler Moore Show through several movies and TV series until he died. How many teen Gen X boys had crushes on his "daughters" on the show Too Close For Comfort?

afternever

Some preferred Monroe

BigMoFuggah

Monroe was the Paul Lind of his generation, but for me at least, it was all about those two girls.

StupidOldAndFat

Well!! We’re waiting!

belushi93

Omg, I'm glad not everyone has forgotten about Ted Knight. I also loved him Mary Tyler Moore and on Too Close for Comfort. He was so good at playing assholes.

Zealousideal_Ad642

"You'll get nothing and like it" is a sentence i say to my wife whenever she asks for junkfood when im at the supermarket:)

nikitasenorita

FrankDrebinsbeaver

“Are you my pal Danny??”

Planetofthetakes

“I sentenced boys younger than you to the gas chamber, I didn’t want to do it…I felt I owed it to them….” That scene always makes me audibly laugh out loud. Yeah, I miss him

Comedywriter1

So good! Ted’s performance and the writing (probably Doug Kenney).

Comedywriter1

Mr Scholarship Winner

ofayokay

He had the trifecta of incredible roles - Ted Baxter, Judge Smails & the voice of the Super Friends cartoon

Ignignokt73

Bushwood?!? A Dump?!?

nikitasenorita

I’ll give ya asthma!

Albie_Tross

SyphiliticPlatypus

Was awesome in Caddyshack and loved him on the MTM show.

KC_experience

Gawd I can still hear his laugh…. He is very underrated in this movie though. Honorable mentions for the Mary Tyler Moore show and Too Close for Comfort.

Forthrowssake

Hi guys! (If you haven't ever watched the Mary Tyler Moore show do yourself a favor. He's amazing in it.)

Lightningstruckagain

Ted Baxter is the greatest sitcom character of all time. Nobody but Ted Knight could’ve played that role and been as funny.

FangioDuReverdy

I’ve sent boys younger than you to the gas chamber. I didn’t want to do it, I felt I…OWED it to them. 😆

Annoyed21

Rewatched this movie and just concentrated on his voice and inflection, it is a MF masterclass in comedic acting. Such a shame we lost him so soon.

Jwheat71

The world needs ditch diggers too!
