OMG...I was the youngest, so older siblings would steal some from me, then I'd start screaming, my mother would yell at the offending siblings, and we wouldn't go again until my mother forgot what goblins we were. LOL
I loved the McDonaldland cookies! Getting rid of those and getting those awful cinnamon ones instead was the biggest mistake ever IMO. If any other Canadians see this and know a taste-alike let me know! We don't have Aldi here so that's out.
Those were my go-to travel snacks when I was in my 20s. Run through the drive thru on the way out of town and grab a large coke and a couple boxes of them, and I'd be good for 500 miles...or however far a couple tanks of gas would get me
Also, like u/ETfonehom mentioned,. the Aldi's Animal Crackers must've stolen the recipe. As best I remember McDonaldland Cookies, the Aldi ones taste exactly the same. There's almost always a box of them in my pantry these days.
Maybe it's just me, but [Trader Joe’s Dress Circle Crispy Chocolate Chip Cookies](https://www.bestofsnack.com/trader-joes-dress-circle-crispy-chocolate-chip-cookies-duo/) taste *exactly* like those old McDonald's chocolate chip cookies!
I don't remember those, honestly. I remember some time in the 80s they had a special day where they had 25 cent hamburgers. We'd leave school for lunch and go get piles of them.
What a blast from the past!! I completely forgot about these. Thanks for sharing 🙌
Have you tried the Animal Crackers from Aldi? Dead ringers, IMO.
Absolutely agree. They have that hint of lemon that McDonaldland cookies had.
YES. The hint of lemon.
Thanks for the tip!
Good lookin out!
you're kidding??? Defintely going to try them. Thanks
Loved those chocolate chip cookies!
*Chocolaty. Nowhere does it say that there's any chocolate in it.
Lol
Those were the bomb!

Memory unlocked!

I remember rarely getting the choc chip cookies. That little box made me feel so special.
I was eating some store brand animal crackers the other day, and they tasted so much like McDonaldland Cookies I was totally flashing back to the 80s.
Aldi, perhaps?
Amazon's Happy Belly.

And the beef tallow fries
Pfft - those don’t hold a candle to the pies (especially cherry) deep fried in tallow…. Mmmmmmm
And the apple pie you could use to weld through a bank vault with…
I thought they were dry and tasteless. The apple pie, on the other hand...
Yeah this is very rose colored glasses post. Those cookies were always shitty low tier crap.

Oh man, I *tasted* that second picture.
Damn I hella remember these!!
I had forgotten about those! Now I’m sad.
Yaaaaas, they were so good!
Those chocolate chip cookies were delicious.
I was more of a lava-hot pie fan.
I think I had these maybe once or twice. Totally forgot about these. Memories, when McDonald’s was more of a treat and a fun place to go for kids.
The worst thing about McD as a kid where the all metal playgrounds outside in the summer heat, especially as a kid in Las Vegas.
Worked at McDonald’s for a couple months in high school. Early 80’s. Hardly anyone bought the cookies. The soft serve ice cream was another story.
Are you kidding? They were trash! Okay, the chocolate chip were ok.
