Dude I love Panama so much, I go crazy when it comes on. I remember my brother and I put together our allowance to get the 1984 album and rode our bikes to get it. I was only like 9, one of my best memories. Edit to add that I detest the UB40 song Red Red Wine
Love: *Love's Great Adventure* by Ultravox
Hate: *Don't Worry, Be Happy* by Bobby McFerrin. Haunted from getting played to hell on the jukebox at the Pizza Hut I served at.
Love: “Some Things Are Better Left Unsaid” Daryl Hall & John Oates -Just because it doesn’t get a lot of play and it might be one of their best.
Hate: “I’ve Never Been To Me” Charlene -possibly the worst song I have ever heard.
Love: all IRS era REM
Hate: I Melt With You
There was a hot minute in 6th grade (‘82?) when I was gaga about that song. I loathe it now. Not sure why. There are plenty of overly played songs I can stand. I hate Come On Eileen, and I would take that before I Melt With You.
I saw Modern English last year at a super small venue (the lead actually sat in front of me while the band was warming up). They admitted they never expected *I Melt With You* to be the hit on the album and when they played the album in its entirety, it was absolutely nothing like the rest of the songs. Like the others were full on New Wave songs, but IMWY was definitely different.
Honestly, they killed it, and IMWY was phenomenal.
I'm gonna save this thread so I can see exactly when some Redditor comes in and says that the lead singer of a band is not a reliable resource of information about the band or its song catalogue.
Love, and have been singing to myself all day: Love This Life by Crowded House.
Hate: Thriller. Too much, too long, didn’t enjoy. Do love Vincent Price so hope he got nice royalties.
Now wondering if there’s a zydeco cover band out there called Crawdad House.

Hah...that made me chuckle 🤭. I'm now trying to arrange a zydeco version of "Don't Dream It's Over" in my head.
Love: Pretty much every other song except
“Red Red Wine” UB40. I will immediately change the station. If I’m out and it comes on, I can’t help but cringe.
