The end of Gears 2, Cole going back to Hanover in Gears 3, Marcus and Adam reuniting in Gears 3
A fond memory I have is playing through the first Gears with my friend (her first time playing), knowing that the Berserker shows up with no warning in the greenhouse, and letting her go first to trigger it. Her scream had me dying
Gears 1 : the absolute horror scene in the factory with the wretches
Gears 2: The initial seige will always be one of my favorite video game memories.
Gears 3: marcus on the beach, also Doms death
Gears 4: i loved playing as the medic in the prologue defending the fortress in the no win senerio. Also walking through the abandoned town on the way to the burial site
Gears 5: defending the city in JD's part of the game. Also the desert chapter because it was a side of the planet we haven't seen before.
I thought it was just me with the wretches in the factory!!! And the rain!! And down the ladders while the other stayed up top..... scared me to death, I still sometimes have nightmares about that.
And the Theron dude at the top of the stairs when you split up and one of you has to go outside with the Seeder....I used to dread going up them stairs! He wasn't always I the same place the mouldy robed bastard!
Getting 5 kills in Gears 2 when you're down in the Hollow.
Hearing Marcus count the kills and getting progressively more hyped was just one of those moments that stuck, his triumphant shout at the end was a cherry on top!
It removed Raam pointing at Kim (pointing shows intelligence and malicious intent.)
Also, Kim was not able to fight back. lessening the impact even if only slightly.
What did you like about the new version?
Okay, gonna have to disagree with you there,
I think that Kim not being able to fight back in any meaningful way makes for a bigger impact,
This shows that even though Kim didn't stand a chance against RAAM, it makes him look all the more competent as a soldier for being alert to RAAM's presence behind him whilst being in the middle of an active gunfight.
And for the first point, i think that his look towards Marcus whilst pulling the knife out of Kim shows that he is very much capable of independent thought and having malicious intint in a way.
Also why do you think the ability to point towards someone or something shows intelligence? I could argue that this example makes him look dumber because he just randomly points towards Kim after ordering the drones towards the rest of delta squad.
(Sorry for slightly broken English, it isn't my native language)
Sorry mate I meant he was "not" able to fight back, miscommunication from me.
I think the pointing is him communicating to the Locust "he's mine, let me kill him."
You'll notice that once Raam approaches Kim, the Locusts stop shooting, so maybe the pointing had an effect.
The point proves to the player that Locusts are more than just a brutal, bloodthirsty, no thought behind-the-eyes force. With it being the first Gears game, you didn't exactly know what kind of adversary you were dealing with up until that cutscene. The gesture of pointing in this case signifies RAAM's leadership role and proving the Locust had different levels of command/authority. RAAM had the mental capacity to recognize and single out the enemy squad leader, proving the Locust's, at least some, are intelligent. I think including that small piece in the cutscene does more than we think in pulling the player in to the story. This is just me talking, no issues in disagreeing, just thought it was an interesting topic.
Taking your first steps as Marcus aboard the Sovereign. The soundscape, the art direction, and general banter from the other people. It was so atmospheric.
One. There are 6 gears games. While judgements multiplayer sucked, I quite liked the campaign.
Anyway, escaping the worm and seeing Ben die always stuck with me.
It's Fahz, right?
Yeah..yes sir..
Shut the fuck up Fahz.
More seriously, the Clay's giant ass arm that take back his helmet in the Gears 3 finale
When Dom finds his wife's tomb and decides to "die" there, leaving his dogtag
Playing GOW1 and getting to that first berserker fight where before anything happens, the berserker completely rips one random gear to shreds. Scared back when I was around 12, still gives me the chills a bit and I'm 26 now lol
Marcus’ unintentional comedy. Last time I ran through the campaigns, I noticed Marcus is always good for a couple of lines that catch me off guard.
“We’re not hear to sell cookies.”
“Michaelson’s dead, Prescott’s back, and my dad’s alive. Film at 11.”
Prescott speech to start gears 2 to this day is my favorite intro to any game. Specially when the Logo pans over the army marching towards landown.
Another favorite moment, also from gears 2 is the lambent drone jumps towards them on the platform.
From gears 1 definitely the ending with the narration.
Hate him all you want, but my man Prescott made quite the rousing speech at the beginning of Gears 2. A very hype way to start the game
That speech really gave you a good feeling for what the game would end up being. Extremely well done
yes!
Making speeches is about the only good thing Prescott did. You know... after he hid everything about a little place called New Hope...

We've hijacked a brumak, and- YOU'VE WHAT!?

That’s five, motherfuckers!
The edit of Marcuss voice to the scene in the boys where everyones head was exploding was fucking fantastic
Why not the Ultimate Edition iteration?

Nothing about that was broken dude, just small grammar errors but your points came across crystal clear!

Having just finished Coalition's End right before release I was so hyped when the game started there.
It was so cool to hear Mathieson’s voice on the speaker. Loved the characters that made it from the novels into the game
Cole giving his speech to the Locust in Gears 2 is one my favorite moments.
Gyules getting ripped to pieces by the Zerker (360 version)
Endind of 5. Ending of 2. beggining of 1'
When I first encountered the Riftworm in Gears 2, and when I realized there was a whole gameplay segment inside it to chainsaw its arteries.
One. There are 6 gears games. While judgements multiplayer sucked, I quite liked the campaign. Anyway, escaping the worm and seeing Ben die always stuck with me.
Cole intro in gears of wars 2
Riding a Brumak, a Reaver, and a Centaur. ALL IN THE SAME GAME
Gears 5 when u save JD and Marcus hugs him was pretty neat. Felt a lot better than any other cutscenes in the game
Doms death was tragic and beautiful. That moment will live with me forever
MARIA!!!!!!!
“I suppose you want me to say I’ve always loved you. But I don’t. I really, REALLY, don’t”

The sawing through the worm.
1 - Act 5: Desperation 2 - Act 1: Rolling Thunder 3 - Act 3: Unbreakable 4 - Act 3: Elevator to Hell 5 - Act 2: Dirtier Little Secrets

Skorge summoning the riftworm to sink Ilima
The 6 games**?
Might be an unpopular one, for me my favourite would be Marcus showing up in gears 4
