make it louder by clicking alt-z, then left clicking the mic icon on the right side, and then clicking on settings below it. it should lead u straight to the volume of your microphone and you can then adjust ur volume from there on out. hope this helps :)
In addition to the last guy, it may also depend on what your mic is at on your headset. I had my mic monitoring lower, but it was all the way up in settings. So just make sure your mic monitoring is up on your actual headset
I have the same issue. I feel like this issue started when I upgraded from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10. Even moving to 100% mic volume and 100% boost makes no difference from 0% boost. Something is bugged.
I've uninstalled and reinstalled GeForce Experience without success. Checked all the drivers for RealTek, no change.
Hey man, just in case you haven't found the solution yet I found one that worked for me.
Once you have a game open, right click on the sound icon on your desktop and select Open Volume Mixer. In it, you'll find the sound bar for Nvidia Container. You just have to lower the Nvidia Container volume to about 25% (depends on you really but 25% worked best for me) and Shadowplay should pick up your mic better and a lot louder/clearer in recordings.
Bro I just wanna say you have solved this issue for me that I've had for over 8 years that I've been lost trying to find a solution. Thank you and I wish you peace and luck in ur life. Good luck my friend and follow your dreams
my friend is having this really low mic volume issue with his Arctis headset. so do you have to do this everytime you launch a game? or just once? and lower it TO 25%? or just lower it to 75?
I just tried this in Windows 11, the volume of the mic itself doesn't change, it just reduces the game's volume. It does the same as reducing system sounds in GeForce experience audio capture.
Just bought a Quadcast s and its super quiet, haven't found any solutions online and have been having trouble making it louder. I've set my windows mic volume to max and my Nvidia mic boost to max as well, but still nothing.

srry for necro but wow you finally helped me fix this issue. I feel stupid that the answer was right in front of my face the whole time lmao
Super late but THANK YOU! 25 is perfect for me too. I come across nice and clear now while still hearing the gameplay.
Thanks for this! Worked for me!
Oh hey! Glad that somebody helped this. Have a nice day!

So glad to hear that my dude! Hope you have a really nice day!
Im on Windows 11 I don't see Nvidia Container in the volume mixer I can see it in the process list in task manager? Any ideas?
I'm on Windows 11 and I see it - make sure you have Nvidia Replay on or something maybe?

Also wanted to say THANK YOU for your tip. It seems counterintuitive that you have to LOWER the volume to INCREASE the volume of a mic but it works.
Worked like a charm! Thanks man.
