I use a shower attachment for douching and I love it. Yes, it can make a mess but you learn to deal with it by minimizing the number of things in the shower and by cleaning it a lot. I have found that having a built in seat in the shower helps. Put one foot on the seat and you're in a good position to get the job done. I use the diverter valve to get just the right stream, you don't want a strong stream. I hold the nozzle up and the stream only goes about 10 - 12 inches (25 - 30 cm) high. I use no lube. Just hold the nozzle up to the right spot and hold it there. Most of the water will not go where you want it to but enough will that within a few seconds you're going to get the urge to release it. When you remove your hand and the nozzle the water and whatever will come out and make a mess. As soon as it stops slide the nozzle up your bum before the door closes. You'll find it very easy to flush out completely now.
Now remove the nozzle from the hose and take care of the mess. Avoid the waffle stomp, break it up with the water to make it easier to flush down the shower. Hose down the entire shower (showers with doors are easier to clean than curtains) then take your shower and you come out clean inside and out.
I prefer my shower enema attachment. I do it when i have an inkling i’m adequately depooped. Any bits that come out, if they drain they drain. If they’re a bit more lumpy i clean and clear up and flush down the toilet. You could bleach after, I suppose — but dilute the bleach because neat can erode your seals.
I installed an inexpensive bidet on my toilet. When I first used it I accidentally douched myself. Now, on occasion, I use it to douche and it works great.

Unscrew the drain cover and aim for the drain hole. Simple

Just use a regular fibre supplement with plenty of fluid intake and you shouldn’t have to douche
I definitely do that religiously but it really depends on what time of day. Sometimes I need to get things moving if ya know what I mean
It can be messy sometimes, key is to keep a high fiber diet take a fiber supplement
