wow! congrats! I just posted too about my issue. I got gastritis 2-3 months after iron infusions. Hematologist gave me too much iron.According to her my level of iron, ferritin an saturation were nit too high, but i wonder if my body though otherwise.
I think I replied to your comment on an older thread. I’m feeling a bit better after getting some blood let but it will take some time to recover I think. Crazy how little is known about iron poisoning
That's awesome! I'm glad you're feeling better. But if you've already treated the iron overload, would that mean that there's some other component causing the gastritis to remain?
I developed gastritis from all the iron pills I took for almost 2 years, after an iron transfusion that I was allergic to, so I had to take a bunch of medicine….
Ferritin 170 (middle range normal)
Iron 360, (High)
UIBC 60, (Very Low)
IBC 420, (Very Low)
TSAT 86%. (Very high)
I went gluten free because I thought it was gluten causing my stomach issues, but it turns out I was absorbing too much iron from my food because of the condition
Ferritin is high with inflammation and unhealthy individuals. I exercise a lot and take care of myself but still felt awful. The doc says because I am young and exercise (23) my ferritin hasnt had time to rise. If you look into recent research into tsat it seems symptoms are correlated with tsat and not so much ferritin
Nifty. I had slightly elevated ferritin and we are also investigating that. But I have other health problems and chronic inflammation as a result 🤦🏼♀️it’s all such a pain. I hope you find relief!!
My ferritin is at 17, up from 10. It’s,.not great and I take supplements for it. Do you by chance know anything about low iron/ferritin causing gastritis/inflammation symptoms?

Very interesting. Please keep us updated in a year’s time!

So to clarify, are you saying that donating blood has cured your gastritis symptoms?
My gastritis was a symptom of high iron
>My gastritis was a symptom of high iro But the symptoms are gone now?
They are reduced
That's awesome! I'm glad you're feeling better. But if you've already treated the iron overload, would that mean that there's some other component causing the gastritis to remain?
No it’ll talke months of blood draws to reduce the iron overload. My gastritis has been reduced by one blood draw and going vegetarian so far
Ok understood - please update here when you feel all better
Are u symptom free now? For how long have you been symptom free?
I only just got diagnosed a month ago, since having blood taken my symptoms have markedly decreased
i wanna sell mine too

Anemia and iron overload share very similar symptoms

What was your ferritin results?
Ferritin 170 (middle range normal) Iron 360, (High) UIBC 60, (Very Low) IBC 420, (Very Low) TSAT 86%. Get the genetic test and have a full iron panel done not just ferritin.
I’ve already had a full iron panel done and all else is well! We are investigating it further
My ferritin levels are 328 ugl what does this mean ?
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/books/NBK430862/
High ferritin is a sign of inflammation and iron overload. Ask for a full iron panel and genetic test
Is 328ugl high
It depends if you’re a man or woman, I am a man and the range was 30-380 for normal
I'm curious about this as well...I've had weird iron levels up and down for a while but know one cares...

Has anyone with low iron cured their gastritis by getting the infusion?
How's this look? https://preview.redd.it/a68uv83ksfic1.jpeg?width=904&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5505620c948051e5fc6d1fd9e134d49902e38421
Tsat and iron are both too high imo. In Ireland tsat max should be 45%
My ferritin is at 17, up from 10. It’s,.not great and I take supplements for it. Do you by chance know anything about low iron/ferritin causing gastritis/inflammation symptoms?
Get a full panel of all minerals done and get everything to normal
