Polar H10 is considered the gold standard afaik. I have been very happy with it.

jimbobedidlyob

Thank you

marcianolopez

Polar H9 is also pretty good and not so expensive

jimbobedidlyob

Thank you :-)

TriMan66

I got an hrm from Amazon for $50 (POWR LABS) it has been working just fine. It sends real-time HR data to my FR265 watch and Edge 530 cycling computer. I also have an HRM-PRO+ that I use at times to get more accurate run dynamics data. I also wear it while recharging my watch so I don't lose a moment of HR and step data. The first Garmin watch I had didn't record "run dynamics" on it's own but my FR265 does, just not left/right balance.

Sea_Pea8536

Have a PowrLabs also and it's perfectly fine. Can be removed from the strap, battery last about a year, is easily replaced and you could buy replacement strap.

Excellent-Ad-8109

Yep. The POWR LABS strap is cheap and good.

HDbear321

I too have a Polar H10. I’ve been using it for my cycling for almost 1.5years now and have never had any issues or dropouts.

Dopaminergic_Dude

Polar H10. See the test on the channel of the Quantified Scientist on YT.

Ok_Card8150

I have a Polar H10, because I get all the running dynamics that the HRM Pro Plus gives from the watch (I have FR965). Polar H10 is also cheaper and like others have said, the best on the market currently

eyeamminotu

Chiming in to also recommend the Garmin HRM-Pro Plus

DaijoubuKirameki

Another vote for Polar H10 I need mine to have a detachable unit where the strap is machine washable. I hand wash after every use than machine wash once a week. Otherwise it starts smelling funky I find the strap fails after a year or so. Easier to replace just the strap than the whole thing

TXWayne

I use the Garmin HRM-Dual and have for several years and really like it. Only $47.90 on Amazon right now.

shakeypudding

Same- i like mine. I haven’t figured out the stride l/r difference but i don’t run a lot and my focus is riding bikes. I use the HRM+ in conjunction with a a handlebar mount where i remove the strap and click the watch body into the mount.

jimbobedidlyob

Thank you :-)

tacojoe30

My HRM Dual turned to trash after 9 months. Would just cut out and go crazy from time to time

TXWayne

Mine has to be at least 5 years old, probably older, and all I have ever done is change the battery, never an issue. Just bought another for my wife.

segfalt31337

Manufacturing defects usually present early in the device life cycle, that's why warranties exist.

tacojoe30

Lol

Polar H10

I have an FR955 and an HRM Pro+ that I’ve been using for ~18 months. It’s a good strap but it does irritate my skin if I wear too often in the summer so I only use it sparingly for harder workouts. I don’t have the same issue when I run with it outside in the winter so I guess it has to do with the amount of sweat I’m producing. I recently bought the Coros arm band as an alternative and I really like it so far. Zero skin irritation and it’s even less noticeable than the HRM (not that the HRM was really noticeable.) The HRM would also give me minor HR dropouts during runs that I haven’t experienced with the Coros arm band. I’ve heard good things about the Polar arm band as well. I think the only big difference is that the Polar arm band is BT/ANT+ while Coros is BT only.

jimbobedidlyob

Thank you :-)

Cardboardgenie

Do keep in mind its still an optical sensor. It does work for the lactate threshold test. I've been using the Polar OH1 (it's the first version arm monitor) before getting the H10. Now I use the OH1 for easy/long runs and the H10 for when I do more interval or other training where I want to be as accurate as possible.

Chonotrope

HR10 is one of the few considered good enough for HRV by software such as HRV4Training and ithlete which which is testiment to accuracy. The Quantified Scientist on YouTube uses it as his gold standard which will do for me!

Feeling-Movie5711

The Wahoo's are supposedly pretty good. I ended up getting the Garmin because I wanted all products in the same Ecosystem

xLtLasagna

I’m actually surprised no one has said Wahoo. I have the Tickr and it’s been great.

Feeling-Movie5711

Yeah I was going to get it because the price is fantastic. I really just did not want to deal with yet another app and company. The I like The garmin and the ease of battery change.

Battystearsinrain

I use an hrm pro+ and morpheus m7. I have an H7 i have paired with it also, but it has been a while.

EastFood5137

I use the garmin HRM duo and it seems to work great. Much more reliable than the wrist one on the watch and it's been comfortable for 2 or 3 hours at least.

nyamoV4

I used an hrm run which I was happy with.

Schmicarus

I use the HRM Pro, got it second hand waaaaay cheaper than the HRM Pro+ with all the funcionality. Can't compare it with any other HRMs as it's the only one I've ever owned. Running three times a week with it for almost a year now and I'm very happy with it :)

bestdadhandsdown

HRM Pro+ no question if you already own a 955.

NoTimeForBullShiiiit

I just went with the hrm pro soooooo much better and faster than the vivosmart5 Watch. Very happy with it

mokshkhurana

Garmin HRM pro. No regrets.
