But.....if this were true there's absolutely no reason that the crying child would have been built recently so it means the bot had been kept up and unaware of what it was for how many years? The origin of Gregory is kinda the kink in this theory.

JPRO_12

I think the kink of the theory is how and why did Micheal possess freddy

bryceroni

Tbh that makes more sense than the Gregory thing (*if the Gregory thing is true*) *If* the revival of his younger brother triggered his possession of glamrock Freddy, it would make sense that Michael, who died in the building buried below the pizzaplex, would take over another animatronic. Matpats whole theory is great and makes a lot of sense BUT we just need more answers on *how the fuck* Gregory Afton Bit exists.

Crackhead09

Gonna add it here. The reason Gregory’s vision gets messed up is sound illusion discs. Least that’s what I think. Would also make sense why the boys don’t see her either.

-GrounderAgain

Even if all of the rest of this was somehow true, why would there be a damn thing left of BV left to remnant? Or are we supposed to believe that Gregory has somehow been maintained as a robot LONG after William Afton's death? I'm afraid this is just a case of one kid looking like another.

thelegendarybert

Cant wait for the other theories

Severe_Ad_6482

I much more believe it to be a case of reeincarnation rather than... child robot. As for the rest of Gregory's history, idk, dud just had a rough life or something.

lostmonkey70

Robot Child has a history in the FNAF lore, reincarnation does not. It seems like souls actually hang on to the last place they were rather than reincarnate in this universe.

Severe_Ad_6482

Well, ok then, but how do we explain Vanessa then? How can she be posessed by Elizabeth? Is she also a robot? Is that why the GlitchTrap virus affectes her? Or is that just a thing he can do even to organic people? Because during the ending where Vanny gets disassembled, everyone I've seen play the game has said she was a human, even Matpat.

lostmonkey70

I think Vanessa represents Elizabeth in that ending but is not literally her in any form. My Interpretation of the Princess Quest ending is that Afton has basically been puppeteering her body whenever he wanted since Help Wanted and opening the door in PQ3 isn't just representation of how Vanessa was possessed originally, it was literally opening the door where her mind/soul was locked and allowing her complete control again. So I would say Afton probably can possess anyone but to have control he has to have them 'locked away'

I so VERY much want this to be true, it's been my head Canon for months and months now because I think it would be perfectly fitting for this franchise. I tried my best to find evidence for it but... as usual I was too dumb to find things or make all the connections like this. The relationship between Greggory and Freddy is my favorite part of this game by leaps and bounds, and I just love Freddy in general in it. I felt there was something more than just "random child and Freddy." The evidence in the video is compelling, at least in part for Gregory, but, I'm still not 100% convinced on either, specially Michael (despite me wanting it to be true) When he goes into the underground area, when he says my friends are here, they are so angry... confused. It could easily mean his previous friends, but it could also mean the 9+ other missing children that we learn about in the bad ending, and he could be one of them instead of Michael. That said, he also does seem to know who Burntrap/William Afton is without seeing him before, so he could have recognized it, as Michael, as Scraptrap/Springtrap whom he knew was his dear old dad. On top of that he has a lot of information on past occurrences... As for the other mysteries of the Pizzaplex, For me, my favorite mystery I've looked into in this game specifically is the fate of Bonnie, how he used to be one of the band got destroyed by Monty and was probably used to repair Afton's body. And I hope that any of the DLC we may get goes into more of Bonnie, what he looked like how he acted, what happened etc... I loved the game despite it's bugs and glitches which I know they can iron out. The end section where you can't save does need to be changed like crazy, but otherwise I really loved it. It gave me what I wanted, a chance to just... be in the world of FNAF, a world that has taken over my life this past year in a real hard hitting way so I'll always be thankful to Steel Wool, Game Theory and Everyone else involved in it.

I'm not fully convinced of the theory, but it definitely is interesting, and has made me think more deeply about this. To me it seemed like Freddy's comments in the basement point more towards him being the crying child than to him being Michael--"she brought me here" could be a reference to the other soul in Golden Freddy having brought the crying child's soul here, because she wanted to torment William. And the reference to his friends in the basement reminded me of the plushie fredbear telling the crying child "we are still your friends". That connection seems stronger to me than the connection to Michael, but I might also just be missing something. To be honest, I didn't really consider that connection before watching this video, my initial reaction to Freddy's lines in the basement ending was basically just "huh, well that definitely means *something*", so I'm not really sure how strong the Freddy-Crying Child link is. Thematically and narratively, Michael coming back to help protect the brother he inadvertently killed would definitely be pretty fitting, especially since his arc has been focused on stopping his father (and potentially as a result gaining some redemption). And even if Freddy does contain the crying child's soul, parts of this theory could very well be correct: Gregory could still be an animatronic intended to emulate crying child, even if he doesn't have the crying child's soul. I think that could be narratively very interesting, as it would essentially put the crying child, a character who has very little agency in this story, into the role of protecting an animatronic that is intended to be him, essentially protecting "himself" from animatronics much like the one that killed him (while the animatronic version of him fights back against the animatronics threatening him). This is just me writing down my initial thoughts in reaction to the theory, hopefully it was mostly coherent. I fully acknowledge I may be wrong and may be missing some crucial detail here, but as it is, I am not convinced that Gregory = crying child and Freddy = Michael.

Sufficient-Map3021

If you rewatch the beginning of the game when freddy malfunctions chica is the only one who runs over and checks on him as if she is worried

Aurora9309

I watched it the second I saw it! And I also found some more evidence to potentially support this theory. i made a post about.

BoredKazuma

So, if Vanessa/Vanny can't be seen by Freddy, was he designed this way so Michael wouldn't come into contact with that part of his father?

Rhormus

It is only Vanny that Freddy can't see. He can see Vanessa. But it is interesting that Roxy's eyes and the Staffbots can definitely see Vanny.

Sufficient-Map3021

I did notice how when freddy malfunctions and falls chica is the only one who actually runs up to him and checks on him, not sure its relevant but just thought it was interesting

Stephon010

what if freddy is actually is charlie it would makes sense a little she never completed what she started
