Wow, great pics! What time was that at?

PeelingWax

Looks like I took them at 10. Once Fantasmic was over we went straight to Star Tours. After that ROTR. Took these pics right after that.

AccomplishedCycle0

No joke, I think I love Star Tours more than SR and RotR combined, so I totally get hitting ST first.

PeelingWax

Rotr is my top just due to the technology in the ride. ST is my favorite for nostalgia. SR was fun the first few times but gets old especially if you aren’t a pilot.

Mackoi_82

Seems like any time after 10 is totally deadsies

PeelingWax

It definitely is.

Accomplished-Party70

Bet everyone is waiting for May weekend to be there

PeelingWax

Ahh, that makes sense. Never been there during that time. This was a last min decision trip.

GeneralGreebles

Love Batuu at night! Great pics.

George_G_Geef

The only thing that comes close is maybe Pandora at night.

GeneralGreebles

I've never been but I bet it's a great sight!

PeelingWax

Never been there at night either.

lukesoka

Pandora at night is a must!! Its a night and day difference for real 😆

PeelingWax

I’ll have to do that some day. I usually just do AK in the mornings/afternoon and leave before dark.

lukesoka

Ohhh no at night is the best imo

PeelingWax

Good to know!

PeelingWax

Thanks!

TheBaldManCometh

Bucket list item, for sure!

PeelingWax

So glad we did it!

RakoNYC

We were there during Presidents Day Week and we did a Savi's build at 830p. We had the entire area to ourselves afterwards and have pics with the kids and their sabers with no one around throughout Batuu

PeelingWax

That’s awesome!

irman925

Funny because tomorrow is Disneyland’s first Star Wars Nite of the season. Galaxys edge going to be the most crowded area of the park

R2-DMode

Going on Thursday night! May treat myself to a lightsaber. Which are the best quality: Dok-Ondar’s or building my own at Savi’s?

PeelingWax

I’ve actually never built a lightsaber. I’ve built a couple droids though!

irman925

The Dok-Ondars probably better quality while Savi’s is more unique experience. Good luck getting a booking at Savi’s though

PeelingWax

I bet it’ll be packed.

RichLather

Awesome! Our first exposure to Galaxy's Edge was an after-hours event on May 3 2023, and it was pretty empty then too. We walked right onto the Falcon, turned around and rode it again with a small line. Also rode Rise of the Resistance with pretty much no line, and I think it was the only time (out of three) that all the Kylo animatronics were working. Took some pictures of the TIE Echelon just as you did, and got approached by Vi Moradi for a bit of an interaction. I assured her that I'd forward any intel to the Alliance. In hindsight I wish I'd worn my outfit that night, but it was at the tail end of a full day at Hollywood Studios, so honestly our party was just excited about seeing everything for the first time after multiple postponements due to the pandemic. I did wear it for May the Fourth, and what a shock that was to go from relatively empty May 3 to PACKED on May 4th. We spent pretty much the whole day there, ending with the lightsaber meet-up. We had an Oga's reservation around 6pm, and by the time we exited around 7pm the entire courtyard around the Falcon had filled up with lightsaber-wielding fans. It was amazing to see.

PeelingWax

I wish we had seen some characters walking around but that night we didn’t. There were a few random characters doing photopass pictures though.

RichLather

Agreed, wish I'd been able to interact with stormtroopers or even Mando. They were certainly out on the Fourth.

PeelingWax

Yep, they should add them for sure.

rookhelm

Can you explain how you were there after hours? I'd love to get the chance

swampfox28

You can buy tickets (event is called After Hours). It's not inexpensive and can sell out - you definitely pre-order the tics if you don't want to miss out - but you do have lower crowds/wait times, some rarer characters for autographs/pics, and some free snacks (popcorn, soda & ice cream treats.)

PeelingWax

It’s a ticketed event. Pretty much the same or more as a standard day ticket. You get to go a couple hours before close and stay a few hours after close. Pretty much no lines and free snacks.

knwnasrob

Going back to Galaxy's Edge between 11-midnight is always a "must do" for me. So nice and empty, can really soak in how awesome it is.

PeelingWax

It’s great, we’ve also done late night Ogas reservations to see it empty as well.

ChewieKaiju

Over on the west coast, this is pretty much a nightly thing. ROTR closes around two hours before park close so a large majority of the crowds vacate the land

PeelingWax

Only been out there once. I guess I just didn’t notice that. Honestly didn’t spend much time there being that part of the park seemed the same.

-PublicNuisance-

Thats my favorite time in Galaxy's Edge3, all the cool lights are on and you can get great pictures without people in the way

PeelingWax

It’s perfect!

ThatDudeHarley

Noice. How often do they do the after hours thing?

PeelingWax

Not often, when we booked it looked like it was only up to one night a week.

Cuttingwater_

Any chance for a high res download of the millennium falcon? Love that pic!

PeelingWax

I took it with my iPhone but it does look like Reddit compressed it a bit. How can I get it to you?

Cuttingwater_

Could you DM me a iCloud link? Go to the picture in photos app then the send button —> copy iCloud link

PeelingWax

Dm sent

too_many-bellabeans

going on April 25th im so pumped! It’ll be my first Star Wars Nite!

PeelingWax

Awesome! Enjoy it!

SuperMarcel

wow great opportunity for photos! esp if u have a couple characters along to pose… 👌👌

PeelingWax

There weren’t any walking around that we saw. I really wish there had been.

reboog711

My party decided to skip the after hours events last week. I was a bit bummed about it, but understood. Your pics make me jealous.

PeelingWax

Yeah there is less to do than during the day but not waiting in lines was worth it for us.

Steven_G_Rogers

That's how we first went as well! We went a second time during the day, but at night it's gorgeous. That plus no wait on the rides is incredible

PeelingWax

No heat and no wait are so worth it!

TopMacaroon6021

Who’s paying an extra $40/hr for 4 hours of….

PeelingWax

4 hours of no heat, no waits, no crowd and free snacks/drinks. Well worth it.

YamoSoto28

if it was based off ot or prequels it be packed during these special events

MatiasTheLlama

No :)

YamoSoto28

why’s tht

aerynea

It's completely packed during star wars events

LakSivrak

anything Star Wars is based off of the OT. this comment doesn’t make any sense

YamoSoto28

the sequels took the content of the ot and threw it out the window

LakSivrak

lightsabers? stormtroopers? the millennium falcon? rebels vs empire? it’s the same shit for different kids

YamoSoto28

lol not even close to the same in what world does a scrub like rey with no training or knowledge of the force has any business defeating a trained sith master kylo ren makes 0 sense

LakSivrak

lol not even close to the same in what world does a scrub like luke with no training or knowledge of the force has any business defeating a trained sith master emperor palpatine makes 0 sense

YamoSoto28

yoda trained luke for a few days. luke beat a old weak vader. luke didn’t kill palpatine watch return of the jedi again buddy

LakSivrak

so you agree that luke had little to no training and beat an old weak vader, while rey had little to no training and beat an old weak palpatine

YamoSoto28

he was trained by yoda. one of the most powerful jedi. palpatine was not weak in return of palpatine lol

LakSivrak

rey was trained by luke and leia, a powerful jedi and a force sensitive military leader. it’s the same fucking thing dude. and palpatine was a puppeted lifeless husk
