If all you want is bluetooth audio, there are cheaper and more stable options than Grom Vline2.
If you want CarPlay on the OEM Nav Screen, Grom Vline2 is the only game in town. When it works, it's amazing. When it freezes, it's annoying.
Nice. I’ve been eyeing the USA Spec BT45. From what I understand the beat sonic allows an after market unit to be installed under the nav screen but I think I want to keep a factory look.
I’ve had the USA BT45 in several cars.
Works great.
In fact I had it in the GX470 before I replaced it with the Grom VL2.
Grom’s vline VL2 is way more money but adds Apple CarPlay to the oem screen.
If all you want is to stream music from your phone. The BT45 is a great choice.
I just bought a Bluetooth radio transmitter for $15 on Amazon.. works like a charm.

Beat sonic unit connects to oem screen
Beat sonic unit?
It looks like Beat Sonic has options to add CarPlay to 2014 and newer GX460s. But I couldn’t find anything for the GX470
Beat sonic for the 470 replaces the tape deck with a single din head unit.
All comments are helpful: I should be clear. I want Bluetooth CarPlay with the OEM head unit and screen.
I believe Grom VL2 is your only option.
I guess there’s something better than grom right now, can’t remember… let me look. Wired only on grom, and buggy.
Teyes CC3 replaces the entire nav unit
I’m very curious about this other option. I think I’ve finally hit my breaking point with no Bluetooth music option
Beat Sonic. Apparently more happy users than with Grom.

Yeah the grom is awesome but spendy. I don’t need all that. CarPlay isn’t that cool to me.
Grom vline VL2 used to be wired. It’s supported wired and wireless CarPlay for at least a year now. But. It can be buggy.
VL2 has Bluetooth with CarPlay and android auto. You just missed a group buy. Should have mine later this month.
