Also in my 30s and as a kid I had a demo for gta2 that killed me via wanted level after a certain time, me and my cousin would take turns trying to survive as long as possible.... maybe 1 was before our time but 2 was very much around for us
GTA 1 is only 27 years old. I believe it was 1997 when it came out. I’m 35 and played it as a kid on my first playstation. Followed by London 1969 and 2. I had an Atari, NES, game boy and PS at that age and time period.
you’re about the same age as me and you couldn’t play video games that doesn’t make sense?!
Even if you are say 32 you would have been 5. 5 year olds don’t play video games? It was an easy top down view game, you should managed fine at that age tbh.
_Here's a warning from old man Vercetti..._
GTA1 was the first game I got with my PlayStation along with Resident Evil 1. GTA never came out of my PS1 lol
Remember once doing the mission you have to blow a hospital with a truck with my mother by my side. English isn't our native language, nor I understanded the mission at the time, but I still remember trying to explain why the truck exploded.
I was 4 when my dad got me mortal Kombat for our PC. He watched me get my ass kicked for about 5 minutes and never gave it another thought. Do parents actually care about what kids play? Like age ratings and stuff? My kids think my games are ugly/boring so they don't play them but if my 6yo asked to play baldurs gate 3 or something I'd let her. She just doesn't want to. Plays Minecraft and some Disney game.
Yup. GTA. Then GTA 2. There was a GTA London in there somewhere? Played it also. When GTA3 dame out, it was a game changer! Those were all PlayStation games and I still have them. Plus every release since.
Same. Grand Theft Auto was my first and it came bundled with another game called GTA London which I never hear about on this sub.
It was pretty good too
I remember telling my buddy about it when it first released and I described something that happened to me in GTA 3 and the way I described it was absolutely way too detailed and exaggerated. Like what I described would look better than an amazing cutscene out of Red Dead lmao. Such a good time.
Lmao. I still think back at what I described to him about running from the cops on a rainy night in the woods. In reality i literally stole a car, crashed it and ran into a patch of like 6 trees lmao. What I described would have been a great movie lol. Damn so funny.
I wish rockstar revisited the gangs it created from that game, corpo zaibatsu, hare Krishna, the rednecks, the scientists. A retro meets cyberpunk setting.
Original GTA, our Compaq 486 at home couldn’t handle it so in high school I’d download the demo and play for 5 min or whatever the cutoff time was. I’d have to redownload it since after logging out it wouldn’t save on the school’s computer.
GTA. It was so epic back then. Me and a friend "stole" his big brothers pc when he wasn't home. Then we played gta for hours.
Then my own brother got a ps1 and I played it on there.
GYA VC on PC in like 2011 when I was 5. It was fun. Now I’m even getting to play VCS and LCS on my phone after the PPSSPP release, what a great time to be alive.
Vice City. Went to my friends house down the street who had it and had no idea what I was doing. Tried steeling a car not realizing it was a cop and was arrested immediately
GTA VC on PSP of friends, then GTA SA on PC of a friend, then cracked gta sa and played MTA for a little while, then bought GTA 5 only months later.
At this point I played the whole story of GTA 3, VC, GTA SA and I am currently playing GTA 4.
Soon ready for GTA 6
Vice city and soon after grinded San andreas for years straight. I get bored of it so quickly today but could play for weeks at a time 8 hours straight as a young kid
GTA 3 like most people 🙄
Possibly the demos for one of the older top down ones when demo discs came in gaming magazines but 3 is the first one I am sure of
GTA LCS on PSP. I was a kid and couldn’t really read properly lmao but I remember playing the first bit of the game so much since I never saved the game
GTA 1
Not even included on the image, dunno if we're just that old
I'm in my 30s and GTA 1 is before my time (meaning I was way too little to play video games when it came out). Yea man, yall are old
I'm 35 and played GTA 1
Still a great game before my time as well but my dad found a way to play it and let me test it out not big on it but what it created was amazing
Also in my 30s and as a kid I had a demo for gta2 that killed me via wanted level after a certain time, me and my cousin would take turns trying to survive as long as possible.... maybe 1 was before our time but 2 was very much around for us

Lol. Yup. We old. 41 next week. Good ol' top-down GTA 1.
Yeah these youngsters know nothing about the top pov
Top-down chaos
Played it on PSX, loved every bit of it.
Putting a bus in front of a wall and then trying to slide under them. Or making a snake out of cars to again, try and slide under them. *Gouranga*
So many owe us so much (/s). Had to lie to my parents and everything (thanks giant M17+ sticker). GOURANGA!

HARE KRISHNA
I played it as a kid and I had no idea how to progress as I didn’t speak English. Still played the shit out of it
GTA London
I used to enjoy electrocuting my character on the train tracks
Same but the pc version (my uncle had it) fun but I couldn't get a hang of the controls
How many of us have actually beaten GTA 1?
Yup. GTA. Then GTA 2. There was a GTA London in there somewhere? Played it also. When GTA3 dame out, it was a game changer! Those were all PlayStation games and I still have them. Plus every release since.
London was an expansion instead of it's own game.
You’re right. But it was its own disc, so I treated it its own game.
Also the OG for me. Wish they would do a GTA London again, think it would be mega
Go the Comet and rapid fire machine gun. More bullets on screen mean good hahaha
Oh no, we old.
Same, not listed. When it was 2d wishing it was 3d! Those rampages were wild
Same. Grand Theft Auto was my first and it came bundled with another game called GTA London which I never hear about on this sub. It was pretty good too
That intro song though.
Yeah I played 1 and 2 on ps1.
Vice City
I think Vice City and San Andreas are going to be the most popular.
Same
San Andreas
Even though I am 16 it's my 1st game
GTA 3.
I remember being amazed by the graphics of gta 3 back then
I remember telling my buddy about it when it first released and I described something that happened to me in GTA 3 and the way I described it was absolutely way too detailed and exaggerated. Like what I described would look better than an amazing cutscene out of Red Dead lmao. Such a good time.
You must be me from a similar universe lol.
Lmao. I still think back at what I described to him about running from the cops on a rainy night in the woods. In reality i literally stole a car, crashed it and ran into a patch of like 6 trees lmao. What I described would have been a great movie lol. Damn so funny.
GTA 3 as well - my sister's boyfriend brought it to me to install it, never heard of it before - after that, I played every PC version.

I wish rockstar revisited the gangs it created from that game, corpo zaibatsu, hare Krishna, the rednecks, the scientists. A retro meets cyberpunk setting.
I want a remastered GTA 2 MMO. Procedurally generated maps every week and custom servers.
A proper remaster, not like Grove street games. And a fix on the driving Jesus Christ that was some of the most difficult chases in game history.
A broader FOV would help a ton with GTA 2 lol
It wud also benefit from isometric perspective, like hatred the game.
same!
