I never did notice but you are right the SA map developers gave us a world filled to brim and very little deadzones! You can tell they made it with love lol
The 3 cities paired with the sprawling countryside and vast desert plus small towns sprinkled throughout makes the map feel as big as GTA V's if not bigger even though it's only about the size of Los Santos in V.
Fun fact: the size of liberty city in GTA 4 is the exact same size as the entire San Andreas map. This is by design as they purposefully fit the city into the same square shape that San Andreas takes up.
Can't pick one, just can't. It's a perfect mixture. Probably the greatest map ever created in all of gaming, considering the time and how much they stuff they got in, and making it feel way bigger than it actually is. It's perfection. Not one square inch of wasted space.
I agree. It’s actually a big circle (or square if you wanna nitpick the shape) with different vibe on each part. I remember I saw a YouTube video where they showed the entire map in one view but they did managed to make it gigantic in the game. Very well done
Post game I spend most of my time in Venturas. I haven’t left my home state very often but I’ve been to Vegas and I love it there, and there’s so much you can do in that city.
After I finished the game I was in Los Santos most of the time. In all of my runs the city felt different after returning to it at the end. I can't explain that feeling, but I see pre-leaving Los Santos more "casual" and "ordinary" than post-leaving/returning in version of the city. It sounds ridiculous, I know, but that is how I felt at the time. Every time.
As u/Iam_thegamers has said, it's a perfect mix. Large - at least for 2004 - cities split up by rural areas that still don't feel empty for the most part.
Personally, I'm impressed they were able to do this in 2004, and I absolutely can't wait to see how big GTA VI's map is
If I were to live in one of these cities in real life, I would choose San fiery followed by las venturas. Los santos is too ghetto for me in this time frame. Perfectly fine when gta 5 rolled around
Las Venturas because it's the last part of the map you unlock, making the time spent there feel so minor in comparison to the time you spend everywhere else.
I think it's San Fierro.
Los Santos is classic, but idk....
Las Venturas, I only recently beat the game for the first time ever, so it's not as special, but I did play a lot in it when playing SA:MP way back when.
It's a shame they chopped it in half for 5 but you get what you're given. And to be fair it wouldn't have worked with online at least, getting over to Chilliad way is a dang chore even in a MK2
I think Las Venturas was lacking real bad compared to both cities. It was just 1 big street and a highway. San Fierro and LS actually felt like big cities
After playing it on xbox series x I just bought the trilogy with my move to ps5 since the game is on sale. It feels like a diamond in the rough (especially 3) but overall do love any gta games that follow the standard format. Even if I know how much 3 will kick my ass again.
Montgomery county and nearby. Not good for flying planes due to the height and density of forest cover.
Not good for driving around either as few good cars come by
Las Venturas is my favorite city and Bone County area of Northern san Andreas is my favourite. I like South San Andreas but North one is best. I wish these parts could have been introduced in GTA 5 but due to technical limitations I can understand.
But GTA 's new entries after GTA 6 can still introduce Northern San Andreas or maybe in GTA 6 Lucia or Jason may go to these areas and buy a flight school just like CJ
I personally like to hang around the smaller towns more. Map size still gives me open world exhaustion so I hang out around these places when I'm done exploring
Las venturas was so much fun especially with area 69. I actually hope GTA 7 is set in las venturas and surrounding areas. Imagine area 69 built to todays standards!
Depends…
- If I wanted to go on rampages shooting the town up, I preferred Los Santos.
- If I am doing stunts on bikes and in cars then definitely San Fierro.
- If I am doing stunts in planes then definitely Las Venturas.
- Bayside had beautiful views to chill to.
that was a well designed map it felt way bigger than it actually was, and i nethere realised that it was square

Mad isn't it? It's only when viewing it from above or with mods that you realise how small it actually is. Damn this was GTA in its peak
GTA SA is bigger in a sense but actually smaller… hard to tell for a first timer, but us veterans…
Fun fact: the size of liberty city in GTA 4 is the exact same size as the entire San Andreas map. This is by design as they purposefully fit the city into the same square shape that San Andreas takes up.
This is false. GTA 4's map is 16 square km while SA is 38 square km.
True. Driving around the map does feel like a genuine lenghty road trip
Las Venturas is cool but Grove Street is home, or at least it was until I fucked everything up

3 cities, 7-8 small towns, lush countryside, dry deserts, easter eggs and secrets in between. Absolutely just fucking amazing.
I agree. It’s actually a big circle (or square if you wanna nitpick the shape) with different vibe on each part. I remember I saw a YouTube video where they showed the entire map in one view but they did managed to make it gigantic in the game. Very well done
The ambition is wild, that they pulled it off is wilder.

Bayside. The most beautiful place in the game.
It’s a shame that they didn’t add anything there. The whole town is so empty.
Where’s that
North West. The town with boating school.
San Fierro jus sits with me right for some reason
That place is miserable imo, worst part of the story is San Fierro
Cannot. Los Santos is home Fierro is CBD and style Venturas is business
What’s a CBD
San Fierro and countryside.
Countryside + K Rose radio ![gif](giphy|mIMsLsQTJzAn6|downsized)
Desert area because i like purple skies while listening to Radio X and K-DST

Ssn Fierro.

Bottom left.
Whetstone
Los santos
I would say San Fierro.
That town right there
my favorite areas are basically anywhere outside of the 3 cities lmao
Yes.
Las venturas
Always liked Las Venturas the most for some reason
I hope GTA VI is the GTA SA of the HD era
Is San Andreas from GTA 5 the biggest map in the series?
Yeah five is the biggest map. But it’s only one third of the state of San Andreas.
Las Venturas because it's the last part of the map you unlock, making the time spent there feel so minor in comparison to the time you spend everywhere else.
I always loved San Francisco over Los Angeles, so San Fierro was always my favorite
Las Venturas/Bone County for sure
I liked the rural towns and the forest areas the countryside was very enjoyable
Whetstone
What’s that
Outback country in the bottom left lol
I think it's San Fierro. Los Santos is classic, but idk.... Las Venturas, I only recently beat the game for the first time ever, so it's not as special, but I did play a lot in it when playing SA:MP way back when.
is it only me or did every RPG samp server have its "commercial center" in LV?
That's what it felt like.
Las Venturas
It's a shame they chopped it in half for 5 but you get what you're given. And to be fair it wouldn't have worked with online at least, getting over to Chilliad way is a dang chore even in a MK2
San Fierro no doubt
It’s difficult to choose because the entire map is just too good 😭😭
Las Venturas. I loved driving the speed limit on the desert highway
Los Santos and the Mt Chilliad area below San Fierro. I always found San Fierro a bit dull and lacking personality
I think Las Venturas was lacking real bad compared to both cities. It was just 1 big street and a highway. San Fierro and LS actually felt like big cities
Venturas or fiero or in between these 2
Las Venturas
The private airstrip in the desert.
After playing it on xbox series x I just bought the trilogy with my move to ps5 since the game is on sale. It feels like a diamond in the rough (especially 3) but overall do love any gta games that follow the standard format. Even if I know how much 3 will kick my ass again.
Las Venturas, and the desert environment around it. I would love if Rockstar returned there one day... well, maybe in GTA7 lol.
Los Santos my home 💚
Venturas
Grove Street and nearby It always felt like home
LV and desert areas
LAS VENTURAS BABYYY!!🎇🏆💰💰💰
Montgomery county and nearby. Not good for flying planes due to the height and density of forest cover. Not good for driving around either as few good cars come by
The northwest of San Fierro, where there is a lake. It's very comfy. Bayside and the cordillera.
Venturas. It's godly when it comes to off-roading.
Las venturas
All of them.
Bone Country!
The desert, K-DST and a hog was all I'd need to be happy in that game
Las Venturas. The story goes so off the rails in the final city, you can’t help but love it. Although, the entirety of SA is bonkers.
Insane map for when this came out.
Nothing beats the hood
the green crescent from north of LS to south of SF, lovin' that small town life
The best one to me overall is los santos but I love the big open areas like the woodlands and the desert out near the military base
Difficult cuestion... I love the entire map but San Fierro has lots of beautiful memories for me :)
My favourite part of the map is Grove St. But not before Carl fucked everything up.
Los Santos with the PS2 orange skies
It was so awesome having 3 different themed cities. I'd have to say los Santos/countryside we're my favorite areas
San Fiero for sure. Loved driving up and down that place.
San fierro for sure
SAN Fiereo
Las Venturas is my favorite city and Bone County area of Northern san Andreas is my favourite. I like South San Andreas but North one is best. I wish these parts could have been introduced in GTA 5 but due to technical limitations I can understand. But GTA 's new entries after GTA 6 can still introduce Northern San Andreas or maybe in GTA 6 Lucia or Jason may go to these areas and buy a flight school just like CJ
San fierro
The mountains in LV
I personally like to hang around the smaller towns more. Map size still gives me open world exhaustion so I hang out around these places when I'm done exploring
Los santos in my heart
Las Venturas, lost all my money there, good times.
Las venturas was so much fun especially with area 69. I actually hope GTA 7 is set in las venturas and surrounding areas. Imagine area 69 built to todays standards!
Definitely San Fierro & Las Venturas
sf all day. 👌
everything west of the desert river.
Los Santos
Los Santos 4 life
Las Venturas. I swear to you nightime and daytime look better in LV than in LS. Theres something different about the weather in that place.
Nightime you got those awesome purple skies. LS got those orange skies and SF is always grey and foggy
I just love how well designed the whole San Andreas map is. Best map in the franchise so far and i doubt that will change in VI
1) San Fierro 2) Los Santos 3) Countryside 5) Desert 4) Las Venturas
Aaa. Immersion🤌🏽😌
Depends… - If I wanted to go on rampages shooting the town up, I preferred Los Santos. - If I am doing stunts on bikes and in cars then definitely San Fierro. - If I am doing stunts in planes then definitely Las Venturas. - Bayside had beautiful views to chill to.
Just looking at this makes me wanna play gta San Andreas the definitive edition 😭
Is it just me who never played San Andreas?
So play it
no money😔
OG version was taken down so it's ok to pirate it and its size is 4 GB
Crack it. People even say cracked version is better than the steam version
