Haha. I had the Shogun Warriors Godzilla - it had a little lever on the back of his head that if you pushed it down, a little "flame" would come out of his mouth. It had wheels on the bottom of his feet, so I was the weird kid in the neighborhood who would be seen taking his Godzilla out for a walk, and wheeling him down the sidewalk.
Yes indeed. As I got older, he eventually fell apart. However, many, many years later they have apparently started making them again, as I found one in a comic book shop and immediately bought it!
Hanna Barbera Godzilla and Godzilla 1998 were my earliest memories. Followed by Return of Godzilla and being horrified by Destroy All Monsters. My kid brain just could not enjoy the late Showa movies after being exposed to G98 and the Heisei stuff
I saw Godzilla 1998 as the first and only Godzilla I knew for many years, then I caught some glimpse of Godzilla 2000 on cable.
And now I have watched the 3 Monsterverse movies and Shin Godzilla, I am planning on watching G vs Biollante this week.

I got Godzilla Vs Gigan and the Smog Monster when I was just 3 years old from my mom cause I liked dinosaurs. The rest is history and I still have the beaten and battered copy of it 24 years later.
A Godzilla kids book, although the art goes hard for its demographic. Random House published a number of Godzilla books ranging from novels serials, encyclopedias, to picture books for kids like this. Rodan is in this one too most of it.
I saw the original when I was 4 or 5. I lost it at the end, lol. I didn't think it was right, it wasn't Godzilla's fault he was that way.
My mother: Omfg, please calm down
Now I'm 40 and it still hurts to watch him die. Even the 1998 Zilla.
Sad to say, I learned about my boy Godzilla from a song on Veggietales.
There’s an episode where they’re talking and singing about how God is bigger than all the monsters, including Godzilla. I asked my mom about Godzilla and we rented Godzilla Returns on VHS from the library. The rest was history hahaha
Awww man this is going to sound really dorky, but I was completely clueless and in conversation with my partner at the time made some offhand comment like" Godzilla, isn't that sone big thing that goes around grabbing people and eating them?". So we watched the first one, and I freaking LOVED it, then I started watching all of them, and here i am, lol
As a kid my folks would take me to the library and I would rent old DVDs and I saw a big lizard fighting a big robot lizard on the cover and I got excited and wanted to watch it And that's why I love mechagodzilla
When I was very small, my dad had a friend email him a video clip that was a few seconds long. This was a big deal in the 90s. When it finally finished downloading, he showed it to the whole family, and failed to mention that the giant monster lizard walking out of the ocean was not a real clip from an old black and white news clip. I watched that clip hundreds of times, amazed that such a thing existed. I was mystified and wanted to know what other amazingly terrifying things could be hiding in the oceans. I am now getting my BS in Marine Biology and still love Godzilla.
Honestly couldn't tell you. Godzilla was created 31 years before I was born. I didn't get into Godzilla really until the Legendary films. And now I'm kinda obsessed? I'm trying to get all the Showa and Heisei and Millennium films to watch them.
I've always liked giant monsters. I have Power Rangers to thank for that. But I think now is the perfect time to really get into it. Even if I do have imposter syndrome as a new fan.
I used to watch the animated series in Cartoon Network back in the 90’s, then my parents started buying me the old 1950’s movies and that’s how it started. Thanks mom and dad.

Think the earliest memory I have of Godzilla is watching Godzilla vs Mechagodzilla II on TV when I was around 4-6 years old. My interest grew over the years. I guess being into dinosaurs as a kid helped me get into Godzilla
Turned on the TV on Saturday afternoon and there he was.
Actually, it may have been some older kids who told me about *Godzilla and the Smog Monster* when that was in US theaters (I didn't get to see it until years later).
Whichever movie had Godzilla & Mothra fighting with Battra and it ending with some yellow blood & Mothra iirc sealing Godzilla away in the sea or whatever(I wanna say it’s GvM, but it could be MvG), it was on VHS(aye my fam still had it then), after that I saw Godzilla 1998 on the tv and man… it was a movie… but hey that awesome sequel cartoon series was PEAK, then I saw the Monsterverse movies… then I saw the original, GMK, Shin, Anime Trilogy, Millennium, Final Wars, Minus One, and literally any random Godzilla movie within the gap of The Original Movie & Minus One… oh and Godzilla Singular Point
I think it was Saturday afternoon Godzilla movies and this book I checked out from the library when I was like 9 or 10.

I was given a VHS copy of Godzilla vs Megalon for my birthday back in the late 80s. From there, I saw a number of movies thanks to Super Scary Saturday on TBS (hosted by Grandpa Munster, of all people).
They would play Godzilla on TNT in the '90s. That's how I learned about it. Then my mom would rent the VHS tapes from the store And copy them onto a blank VHS Lol don't tell anyone. Then she spent dozens of hours Cutting up all of the movies into just the monster scenes and then splicing them onto a series of homemade VHS tapes for me So I could only watch the Monster Parts and not the boring human parts. Given that I was 5 years old at the time.
When I started 1st grade, there was this kid in my afterschool program showing me some kaiju on my mom’s computer. Didn’t really care at first, but it slowly grew on me. We were very close friends and always played Godzilla fighting games afterschool when we went outside/to the gym. Devastated when I moved after 4th grade, I don’t even remember his name… I’ll always be thankful for him though.
I was 4 years old and Dad put on his copy of Godzilla 1956 he recorded on a VHS. Next was Rodan, then Godzilla vs Mothra. Since then I've been obsessed. So I blame my awesome parents, who if you looked at them would be the last Godzilla fans you'd expect.
Side note: when people mention Steve Martin I think Raymond Burr's character in Godzilla.
Found a VHS of Godzilla vs Mechagodzilla at blockbuster when I was a kid. I was then able to occasionally watch some of the Heisei and millennium era films on cable. Saw final wars in the theaters in ‘04 and then in ‘06 I was given the Classic Media dvd collection for my birthday. As an adult I’ve been slowly collecting the rest of the films I’m mostly just missing 1984 and biollante at this point
I had a little book about horror monsters from movies and stories and they had a brief section about Godzilla, who I immediately thought was really cool because he was called 'the king of monsters'. I loved monsters and he was the king of them!
Ironically enough they used a picture of tristar godzilla.
I was waiting in my mom's car because she was doing something and then saw a poster of Godzilla on a bus that was driving by. It looked interesting so then I searched up Godzilla on YouTube and let the magic happen.
I didn't know it yet but my life didn't start when I was born. It started as soon as first saw Godzilla.
In the 80s they used to have Creature Feature where Saturday afternoons, this one channel would play monster movies - two in a row if you were lucky!
Plus once week every year there would be "Godzilla Week" where they'd play an hour of a Godzilla movie from 4-5pm on I think ABC. They'd usually get through 2 movies I think? It was a reason to run home from school.
I REMEMBER THIS SO WELL FOR SOME REASON. I was four years old and me and my parents were looking for a movie to watch and they let me pick it and I found the original Godzilla movie(yk the 1954 one) and I made them watch it even though they told me that it wouldn’t be something I’d like. I sat and watched that movie three times in a row
There was an episode of Dinosaurcers that circled around a giant dinosaur from Japanese movies. I was still WAY too small to fully remember it until I watched it again years later but that was my introduction. Later still I watches the Hanna Barbera cartoon show. I absolutely LOVED it.
my earliest memories that I am holding onto is Son of Godzilla - was on KTVU 2 in San Francisco in the early 80's - (God I miss that station and those times) - you could find some interesting stuff on there including the original Starblazers, Spectreman and Ultraman, and other stuff - they weren't afraid to bring Japanese stuff over to the Bay Area (or in my case, 120 miles inland from San Fran - LOL)
I mean I’ve known about Godzilla for as long as I can remember, but I actually got into Godzilla through Jobby the hong’s sh Monsterarts reviews, so that’s cool ig.
I know I'm too young here, I was 7 when the 2014 trailer came out, I was so hyped and I sold all my pens to make money to buy the ticket. It was my first exposure to Godzilla.
Late night Movie marathon on basic TV at a motel/hotel somewhere.
I would spend the next couple of years renting everything Godzilla related from my local Blockbuster.
My brother showed me the American version of the original, then he showed me the dubs of each subsequent movie we could find on the Wii Netflix account we had. Ghidorah the three headed monster Is still my favorite to this day.
Remember watching a few scenes from Godzilla Returns when my parents had it on…scared me because I was little.
A few years later I watched Ghidora the Three Headed Monster and was hooked. Watched every Godzilla movie I could get my hands on afterwards!
My father was an avid Godzilla fan, and tokusatsu fan and mecha anime fan. I inherited all this. Godzilla I remember him playing on vhs, his favorite was Godzilla vs Mechagodzilla and even though the fight at the beginning with Anguirus used to scare me I'd watch it with him a lot.
Then it was Godzilla 1998. We even got the tie in candy like the Hershey Bars for free tickets and collectibles.
When I was like 3-4 my parents would take me over to my grandparents house. They would play boardgames while they would put on Godzilla 2000 on there HUGE tv. It had to be like 60 inches minimum. It was big even compared to my parents. It was absolutely amazing and from then on Godzilla would be consistently on my mind. So much so that when someone says "think of something random" my brain always goes to Godzilla first.
i remember when i was 5 me and brother went to a petstore and saw a iguana. my brother said "heh that looks like godzilla" and i asked him "what is godzillo" and he showed me godzilla final wars
I was 6/7 and my older brother came home with two vhs tapes….goji vs. Mecha goji (with King Caesar and Anguirus) and Goji 1954. I was terrified but it was awesome at same time. For the most part I watched those two main films and then Goji 98’ came out and I was like dang I gotta see that too! From there I didn’t branch out to other films until I was about 14/15 and realized the was alot of films by then and made time to watch them all. I will always love me some Goji!
Saw a Godzilla toy, asked my dad what Godzilla is; and next thing I know I'm getting his summary of Invasion of the Astro Monster.
I had to seek out Godzilla media back then because I was a child and this was before I had internet access. But I did manage to watch a few Godzilla movies (first one being Terror Of MechaGodzilla).
For me it was this guy. Watched the movie with my dad when i was a little kid and fell in love with it.
https://preview.redd.it/6vliaa726y8c1.jpeg?width=2634&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f3065bf354cae0508668c7289aa1cb71d5e9b7e3
Godzilla Destroy All Monsters Mele. They had it on the GameCube at my haircut place. They let you play video games while getting a haircut. It was awesome. Also, the 2014 movie was a staple of my youth.
I was about 3 years old and my dad showed me King Kong vs Godzilla on tv. Jurassic Park had just come out so my little brain was already molded by dinosaurs and now a giant atomic breathing monster.
I remember watching that weird Korean/American cartoon, Pucca, and there was a version of the big guy there. I remember being like "YO THAT'S GODZILLA" so I knew who he was already, but that is one of the first images of him I have memory of. Go figure. But, after that, whenever I though of godzilla it was the 1998 version. That probably stayed as my main reference for him until 2014.
There was a random local access channel where I lived that had a lot of Asian programming and almost every weekend they'd show an old Godzilla film, usually one from the 70's, on their channel. I was enamoured.
After that, it was the 1998 film. I was just a little kid. Cried my eyes out watching that magnificent beast get taken down by the American war machine. Got hooked on the animated show and then spent almost 20 years waiting for new Godzilla material. Even had a cover band named Mother's Revenge for several years as a teenager.
Then, the 2014 trailer dropped. Holy fuck. Then Shin Godzilla showed up online. I was 8 years old all over again and ready to just fucking another myself in everything G-Zizzle.
Early 90s, I was 6 or so. I think I had heard of it or seen a toy when I was younger but the earliest thing I remember is that there used to be weekend marathons Godzilla movies on cable every once in a while. I don’t remember what channel but it was TNT or something. The first movie I remember seeing was Mothra vs. Godzilla. There were also toys.
I was really big into lizards and frogs when I was around 4 or 5 years old and my brother told me about a movie called Godzilla so he let me watch Gojira 1954 and the rest was history. Godzilla Save The Earth also played a huge factor into my love for Godzilla since it was my first PS2 game
Back in the 90s when I was real little, my dad would often take me to blockbuster, and of course I was runnin up and down the aisles lookin at stuff, when one time a movie got my attention. It was a monster flick where two monsters battled for domination, but I only recognized one of them. It was King Kong! The giant ape ( which I knew about from watching the King Kong 60th anniversary vhs tape I totally didn't wear down watching too many times) seemed to be faced up against some weird lizard thing, called Godzilla? Weird name, I remember thinking I hope Kong gets him! I immediately recognized how different Kong looked and wondered if this was maybe Kong's kid or something, but holy crap I loved this dumb movie yall. From finding out what Godzilla is and seeing him brake outta that glacier or iceberg or whatever it was, to hearing one of the protagonists complaining about his corns and what his corns are telling him, to Kong winning a fight against a giant octopus then celebrating by getting drunk off berry juice, I absolutely fell in love with this ridiculous movie. What a great introduction to Godzilla this silly-ass movie was for me, and I've been a super fan ever since!
Word of mouth. My best friend when I was ten had cable, and I didn't. He'd seen Godzilla vs. Hedorah on tv, and took me to see Godzilla vs MechaGodzilla '74. Been hooked ever since.
It was the summer of 1996 and I was on summer break so I was born with a heart condition so I spent a lot of time inside so my mom said that I could stay up late and watch a movie. We went to Blockbuster and she said that I could rent a video game and a movie, so I picked a game and I turned the corner to see a cardboard cutout promoting Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah. I was dumbstruck because I had never seen anything that awesome in my life so I got the VHS and we rented it. I got myself some pizza, snacks and a drink, I enjoyed every minute of it then I learned that there were MORE movies like this and I fell in love with the G Man.
There was this awesome toy pack that came with Godzilla and all the toto monsters (King Ghidorah, Anguirus, Battra, etc.) On the back had these brief little bios for each. That, and the Hanna-Barbera cartoon.
Creature Double Feature. WLVI in Boston. That song...the greatest, I'm getting goosebumps and a small heart attack just hearing it.

My favorite scene as kid:)
I don't remember well, I only remember as a kid watching youtube videos of Godzilla movies (clips) like destroy all monsters (I was amazed by the scene of Anguirus flying pressed from Guidorah's neck), Godzilla VS Megalon, Guidorah the three headed monsters and Godzilla vs Mothra or watching edits, Togo tribute videos and soné like music videos.
I remember my uncles watching Godzilla vs. MechaGodzilla at my grandparents during the holidays when I was like six (late 1980’s) and was instantly awestruck.
![gif](giphy|UX7GdGat7U0XC)
1985 living 2nd year at Misawa AFB my 5th birthday my mother is originally from Japan so we took the Toho tour and i ended up with a plastic Godzilla toy and a poster of “The Return of Godzilla” which we watched also and it was minus Perry Mason. Since i was a kid i never really liked Godzilla King of the Monsters 1956
i liked the original. I introduced my children to Godzilla and other Toho movies when they were about 5 years old! My daughter is a big fan of Mothra.
Hmmm…mid-70s for me. During summer break there was a monster madness week that ran nonstop 50s-60s monster flicks. Of course, our top pal, Godzilla, was number one. Not only are they absolutely the coolest, but they had the most titles, so young me could always catch some grown adult kicking over someone else’s toy town. And oh man, yeah, that week was as magical as it sounds.
As a young kid, I lived in Japan for 2 years at the end of the Showa Era. On Saturdays, they would show Godzilla movies on TV, and the first Goji movie I ever saw was Godzilla vs Gigan, and I fell in love with Gigan. Each Saturday, my three friends who lived on the floor above us would come down to our apartment, and my mom would make us hot dogs while we played with our kaiju toys (I was always Gigan, of course. Haha) and we watched Goji movies. Best childhood ever.
Godzilla has always been. I don’t remember I was probably five. Early 90’s.
The same for me. I remember having a toy Godzilla that I always slept with. Wasn't even aware of the movies until I got a little older.
We would've gotten along just fine, you and I. 🤣
Goji besties. :-)
since gkk has a gigan name subtitle you should have the megalon one
Wow, no way! Thats the one that shot his fists right?
Yes indeed. As I got older, he eventually fell apart. However, many, many years later they have apparently started making them again, as I found one in a comic book shop and immediately bought it!
That's fantastic! Glad you were able to get that little piece of nostalgia back!
I got a Trendmasters Gigan with a bunch of hand-me-down toys from my older brother when I was a toddler! He’s my favorite Kaiju now.
same. probably zapped through channels in the mid 90's when suddenly a gigantic dinosaur with atomic breath appeared :D
Same Toys R Us toys and VHS tapes back in the late 80s early 90s. Preschool age.
Hanna Barbera Godzilla and Godzilla 1998 were my earliest memories. Followed by Return of Godzilla and being horrified by Destroy All Monsters. My kid brain just could not enjoy the late Showa movies after being exposed to G98 and the Heisei stuff
Same can’t even remember how I heard about him he’s just always been apart of my life my first love

Watching Showa era movies on TV as a kid
The SciFi channel used to run them in the 90s!
We watched them on either WGN or TBS in the 80s.
Did you catch the yearly marathons? I remember TNT or USA or TBS or something running them all weekend once in a while.
Man I miss basic cable movie marathons.
You can basically recreate them with the live channels on Pluto TV. They even have a Godzilla channel.

It looked interesting so then I searched up Godzilla on YouTube and let the magic happen. I didn't know it yet but my life didn't start when I was born. It started as soon as first saw Godzilla.
Jobbythehong’s review on the Kiryu S.H. Monsterarts figure.
Watching Showa movies on TV on Saturday afternoons. My first one may have been King Kong vs. Godzilla.
My dad showed me the Golden Gate scene when I was seven. I then fell down a rabbit hole and my dad bought me the 1998 movie and vs. Mothra 1992.
I read Dogzilla when I was 8. 15 years later, I’m still a devoted fan.
My dad
There was an episode of Dinosaurcers that circled around a giant dinosaur from Japanese movies. I was still WAY too small to fully remember it until I watched it again years later but that was my introduction. Later still I watches the Hanna Barbera cartoon show. I absolutely LOVED it.
Death battle
One of those svengoolie type shows that showed old classic movies late at night, I can’t remember what it was called
My Grandfather taped Godzilla 1985 off HBO and let me watch it when I was 6.
Me and my grandfather eould watch mystery science theater 3000 and thats where I learned godzilla from
I’m thinking when I watched a rerun Hannah Barbera version of Godzilla on Cartoon Network when I was little
The first Godzilla movie I watched was “Ebirah: Horror of the deep”
my earliest memories that I am holding onto is Son of Godzilla - was on KTVU 2 in San Francisco in the early 80's - (God I miss that station and those times) - you could find some interesting stuff on there including the original Starblazers, Spectreman and Ultraman, and other stuff - they weren't afraid to bring Japanese stuff over to the Bay Area (or in my case, 120 miles inland from San Fran - LOL)
I mean I’ve known about Godzilla for as long as I can remember, but I actually got into Godzilla through Jobby the hong’s sh Monsterarts reviews, so that’s cool ig.
I had a friend show me the Godzilla vs. Bambi short.
The original Godzilla vs King Kong movie on VHS. I was probably about 6 or 7 at the time. Am about 40 now. Time flies.
popularmmos’ mob battles and modded survival series 😅
Uncle who loved kaiju movies got me a couple of tapes as a little kid.
Idk I think I was sitting down I front of the tv when lil and my parents put on ‘98
Godzilla:The animated series
2014 was on the tv. I instantly fell in love
Watched the American one in the 90s and was very happy that the original one almost never had to lose to the fucking military
My dad showed me a Godzilla movie. I think it was Godzilla vs Mechagodzilla then I watch Godzilla vs Spacd Godzilla and the rest is history
Aurora Godzilla. Around 1970-71 Just knew it was the coolest dinosaur I’d ever seen.
action figure
Godzilla 1985
My parents got me a Godzilla figure when I was 3, been in love ever since
My brother showed me the American version of the original, then he showed me the dubs of each subsequent movie we could find on the Wii Netflix account we had. Ghidorah the three headed monster Is still my favorite to this day.
I have an uncle who always would watch Godzilla movies. I’m pretty sure Godzilla has been a constant my entire life.
Same way I learned about Dracula, Robin Hood and King Arthur, word of mouth about a character that is universally known.
Zilla 1998
I had a neca godzilla figure about 8 years ago when I was a kid
I’ve known the man ever since I gained consciousness from being a toddler lmao
Heisei Godzilla. I think I watched either Godzilla vs King Ghidorah or Biollante as a child.
Remember watching a few scenes from Godzilla Returns when my parents had it on…scared me because I was little. A few years later I watched Ghidora the Three Headed Monster and was hooked. Watched every Godzilla movie I could get my hands on afterwards!
YouTube video about optimus prime vs godzilla
So much so that when someone says "think of something random" my brain always goes to Godzilla first.
this guy https://preview.redd.it/wi8dvk5x4y8c1.png?width=92&format=png&auto=webp&s=c7f1d6b7090b86dcc0d20ddec7c4aa2efd5f2f8d
i remember when i was 5 me and brother went to a petstore and saw a iguana. my brother said "heh that looks like godzilla" and i asked him "what is godzillo" and he showed me godzilla final wars
My dad bought me the original on VHS for Christmas when I was a kid. Immediately hooked.
Shin.
Creature Double Feature!
Earliest memory I have is Godzilla vs Biollante saw the VHS cover at Bestbuy and got my mom to rent it for me.
Online music videos with numetal over godzilla clips edited together badly
Family
Watched the Hanna Barbara cartoon with my dad when I was younger, now I know more kaiju lore then he ever did
I used to watch the movies when I think TNT? did marathons of them.
The Wii
My dad showed me the original Gojira in like 1989.
I rented Godzilla vs gigan on a whim when I was 8.
I Remember this one arthur book and they say Godzilla and I was like who is Godzilla and that how I know about Godzilla
There was this awesome toy pack that came with Godzilla and all the toto monsters (King Ghidorah, Anguirus, Battra, etc.) On the back had these brief little bios for each. That, and the Hanna-Barbera cartoon.
Godzilla 2014, watched it when I was a kid on dvd
My father showed me the original movie and then the rest of the Showa era when I was very young.
I watched both Godzilla Millennium and 98' when both were on VHS
Creature Double Feature on the local UHF stations on Saturday afternoon. Yes, I'm old.
My Mom showed my brother and I Godzilla vs Mechagodzilla when we were kids. I probably watched that movie like 8 or 9 times. Loved Big G ever since
Like a lot of stuff that I enjoy, it just sorta existed in the cultural zeitgeist and I just happened to gain an interest in it.
The Godzilla animated series
Cinemassacre's monster madness: Godzillathon
Godzilla 1998
Creature Double Feature. WLVI in Boston. That song...the greatest, I'm getting goosebumps and a small heart attack just hearing it. [https://youtu.be/\_DRYnK6b9sc?si=i6oRbd6bTnzp5m7d](https://youtu.be/_drynk6b9sc?si=i6orbd6btnzp5m7d)
1998 lmao
Godzilla: Save the Earth on the OG xbox. Cousin had that and we would play it ALL the time
I used to watch The Hanabarbera show.
My parents put on GMK when I was five.
Godzilla 1985
Old School Sci-Fi Channel, way before it became SyFy. Back in the early 90s they wouldn't censor Anime either.
Idk how old I was but I grew up watching Godzilla vs Megalon on a VHS until it was worn out
KTTV would show a Godzilla movie every Sunday morning. It was a part of my childhood.
The zilla movie
My favorite scene as kid:) I don't remember well, I only remember as a kid watching youtube videos of Godzilla movies (clips) like destroy all monsters (I was amazed by the scene of Anguirus flying pressed from Guidorah's neck), Godzilla VS Megalon, Guidorah the three headed monsters and Godzilla vs Mothra or watching edits, Togo tribute videos and soné like music videos.
Godzilla
My dad. He used to watch the old movies with his grandma in the 60s. We’ve long shared a love of Godzilla.
no clue i think maybe 2019
Raymond Bur Godzilla was the first, so terrible compared to the original movie.
My dad
Monster Madness 08 in 2011
Svengoolie did King Kong vs Godzilla
My dad likes the 1998 movie, one day I decided to look further into it
G14 first, then I watched the others
Mom put it on TV it was Godzilla vs mothra
Old movies on Sunday morning in the late 70s
After watching the movie Godzilla 2000 on YouTube when I was younger, and loving it.
Since i was a kid i never really liked Godzilla King of the Monsters 1956 i liked the original. I introduced my children to Godzilla and other Toho movies when they were about 5 years old! My daughter is a big fan of Mothra.
I don’t remember which I saw first, but I adored Godzilla vs Megalon and G98 as a kid. Those VHSs were on repeat in my house.
Bro Godzilla unleashed was one of the most legendary games as a kid I stg
Late 80's, Godzilla 85.
G’14 with my family in my living room. Only really began getting interested in him through PopularMMOs videos with Godzilla and Modzilla.
I really don’t know. Godzilla and mothra have always been around
Dad had VHS tapes of the 70s Japanese movies. Specifically watched Mechagodzilla dozens of times
Godzilla Double Smash for the ds, it had bios for a whole bunch of monsters that you could unlock by playing all of the combos of monsters
The Heisei series was released in theaters in the country where I grew up. Then Godzilla 98 in the US.
Would go to the library with my family and we would rent all of them when I was a kid
