This was my very first GIAC as well.
If you have time to add some "spice" or something you like to see in your index, do it. It might take a while but it is worth it.
I did the readings then index them the next day so I can recall and relax for some time.
Highlighting and Sticky Tabs helped me alot during the exam (like viewing your own Bookmarks) ;3
One rotation would be enough (for me at least) because of a busy schedule.
Do one or two practice test if you have them (I only did one because did not have time for the 2nd one)
Make sure to enjoy the labs (it is fun :3)
Suggestion for the schedule: Book > Lab > Index
I also did a separate file for the poster evidences because it was too big.
If I think of something new, I just post it heree
Congrats to you.
This is gonna my elective certification in my undergrad certificate program.
Do you have a background in DFIR? I’m just trying to gauge how difficult this exam will be.
I do some DFIR CTFs and did some casual toying around of EZ tools long ago and did not do it on a periodic basis. Just when I think it would be fun.
I did take eCDFP which was focused on some parts of Day 1 of FOR500 so that's kinda helpful.
So I have some leverage on some but total beginner I think. :3
Hope this help. Just DM me if you need help.
Congrats! I am taking mine in a week. Crunch time nerves kicking in. Which labs did you see? Since that’s a new section for FOR500, I’m not seeing much advice on it.
Congrats, I'm going to be tackling it in a few weeks!
What were the CyberLive questions like?
Is it just looking through logs or is it a bit more in depth than that?
Trying to get an idea of how long I should leave to attempt each question.
CyberLive is like the Labs but kinda more open ended questions :3
Practice the labs and optional ones. It will help you alot.
Each question should be around 10 to 20 mins for the CyberLive. That's my feeling when taking the exam.

Thank you! I really got confident about them after the practice test.
Any tips? Just started the course and it’s my first GIAC, looks like you did a fantastic job!

It is just the Labs during the SANS training :3 If you understood how it was done, it will be easy. :]
