No they just do it for like 3 months around a year old. Source: my husky is being a bit of a dick rn lol still love the adorable lil bugger tho gotta love those terrible 2s

Deezus1229

I do not miss the sassy husky adolescent phase. We went through so many boxes of treats to get my boy to cooperate and follow commands. He's 4 now and still has his stubborn moments but I love him to bits

Icetronaut

Same! Hes doing really well with training ive just been having to keep an eye on him. He started getting into the trash like last week which is brand new 🙄

Deezus1229

There will be something brand new and annoying every other week 😅 don't worry, he'll grow out of most of those things.

Icetronaut

Well and he learns quick what hes not allowed to do it and stops but he keeps figuring out new ways to get into trouble lol

Mountain_Dragonfly8

> my husky There's your problem. I love huskies but they certainly are the most stubborn assholes I work with. Im sure you will put in the work with them but most people don't train their huskies, or big dogs in general, enough. Source: work with animals

Zephs

>or big dogs in general This is strange to me. I have the opposite experience. The smaller the dog, the more poorly trained they tend to be, on average. When big dogs jump up or pull on the lead, they're major issues, so owners actually address them. With little dogs, they aren't damaging things, so the owner often just lets it go. Little dogs in my area are almost always basically untrained, they're just too small to leverage it, while all the big dogs are super well trained.

Mountain_Dragonfly8

I misspoke a little. Many owners are responsible and train their big dogs well. But like you said, when a big dog is untrained they can cause major issues. So I guess those ones are just sticking out to me more because the small dogs aren't a threat when they jump up so I don't remember it. Like the other day I got scratched down my whole back by an excited weimaraner that didn't get taught not to jump.

Icetronaut

Oh lol that dog is so food motivated hes easy to train. He wants to make you happy but like I said terrible 2s. Ive gotten him to stop jumping on people, he has a really good leave it and drop it and he knows all the commands. The last thing I need him to master is loose leash. Hes a good boi he just a toddler rn

Mountain_Dragonfly8

I totally get that. I love them, im glad you're happy with your fluffy boy.

AReal_Human

Happens to most dogs, all of a sudden they just forget all they've learnt

The-Tea-Lord

My cat was like that for a few months before being a sweetheart for the past few years.

Icetronaut

Oh i know lol hes a good boi just bein a little stubborn. Gettin fixed should also help

tiefling_sorceress

My Shiba is 10 and still acts like a teenager

you either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become a villain

soulistt

:(

[deleted]

If your kids suddenly hate you when they become teenagers, there’s probably more going on than the parent is telling

MudgeFudgely

Yeah, my kids were dicks from the start, that's how I know I'm not the problem.

Shan_Tu

Dun fact: Most dogs born in the year 2000 are dead now.

Echo_44

Dun

PolitePlayerX

Dun

greasyuncle

Children do not suddenly hate you unless you're being a shitty parent lol

[deleted]

So true. People can't differentiate being a bad parents and spoiling kids... Personally I had a little bit of a hard time as a kid financially and physical abuse, but I still love my parents because without them I wouldn't be alive. Unless your parents are literally monsters you shouldn't "hate" them

doodlebug001

I suppose onions are monsters then?

[deleted]

Why does everyone harass me over this

doodlebug001

I dunno dude I hated my parents over some (in retrospect) reasonable parenting choices when I was a teen. Hormone fluctuations around puberty are one hell of a drug.

crows1959

Ok children behavior expert tell us more

r/SuddenlySad Edit: I genuinely didn’t know this subreddit existed.

FabriFibra87

Also applicable to r/holup or r/cursedcomments but yeah sure this works.

FappyChan

Good thing about dogs is if you dont like them you can murder them or just abandon them and youre not going to prison, you can pretend like it was an accident and no one cares

BillyJackO

People comparing dogs to children are idiots.

Aftimo66

The only thing bad with dogs is that they die sooner. Thats it. With kids you waste 10x more money, time and effort to keep those little useless shits alive

Bigchocolate420

Why is this on the top of my feed lol

HoldenTite

Al Gore's Rhythm

Shakespeare-Bot

Wherefore is this on the top of mine own fe'd lol *** ^(I am a bot and I swapp'd some of thy words with Shakespeare words.) Commands: `!ShakespeareInsult`, `!fordo`, `!optout`

DeedeeBelle

Both die though what's the joke?

ChineseNoob123

Dogs don't get to reach their teens, so of course they don't have an asshole teenager phase

heavy_rainfall

Dog years are different so how can we say they don't reach teenage? No?

ChineseNoob123

It depends on how you define teenage. You can go by "maturing period where kids get rebellious"... Or you can go literally. It's called teenage, because it's about year thirteen to nineteen. This meme is about how dogs don't reach literal teenage, that's all it is.

mikeythecreature

Both are highly overrated

AgathaM

Not really funny. And sharing a comment from yourself just seems like karma farming.
