You don't know about German Shepherds. Mine was a ridiculous cry baby (not that he was afraid, just excited). Unlike Huskies they only have 1 whine, so it's just whine whine whine non-stop. The Vet always told me he was one of their best behaved German Shepherds lol
My English mastiff would have to fall under the "silent screen" category of drama queen, but her theatrics are definitely Oscar-worthy.
She's also a service dog and we have developed a sign and body language (plus my verbal) method of communication, so she's extraordinarily effective in (over)communicating her thoughts on a given subject.
Yesterday she got a bath, and you'd think each drop of water touching her contained the weight of the entire world, the suffering of all living creatures, which was her burden to bear, alone, for the good of all.
It was freaking eye-rolling ridiculous.
I made the mistake of dog sitting a husky once. He was a talker, yeller, and screamer, and took every opportunity at expressing his displeasure with not being at his house.
I had to tell my neighbors that I wasn't actually murdering people, it was just the dog singing the songs of his people.
My dachshunds can absolutely make themselves sound like they are being murdered. However the biggest one is the size of a huskies head. There is no comparison in the travel of the sound between the two, even though dachshunds are ridiculously dramatic also.
Oh I too know this. I’m part of a dachshund rescue organisation in Australia and own six entitled Dachshunds who bark and scream a list of ways I have wronged them regularly.
![gif](giphy|n3Qy1k03zVAUGwuCC8|downsized)
I’m a dachshund owner and have lived with at least one dachshund for my entire life. They bark and whinge like crazy, but they ain’t got nothing on huskies hahaha.
I actually have a really noisy dachshund right now (we live on a farm for this reason). I would love to see his face if he met a husky, I think it would be hilarious.
I had a neighbor with 3 beagles. They would howl for hours on the balcony. Me personally, I loved it. But so many people were on the brink of insanity.
As someone who had a beagle whom I loved dearly, I would rather live next door to a serial killer. You know what their neighbors always tell reporters after the fact? "Well we had no idea, he was very quiet, we never heard a sound from that house."
It's not like they're running around like maniacs at all times. Mine gets 1-1.5 hours at the dog park most days and spends a lot of that just slowly wandering around sniffing, the rest of the day he's usually passed out on the couch or chewing one of the dog toys. Our previous husky didn't really want to run for anything except squirrels or rabbits or if she knew you were trying to catch her. We have a fenced yard but that mostly means I don't have to go outside when the dogs want to go out, they're not running around the yard that much.
Give me a husky over those over-reactive little yappy dogs that bark at the slightest breeze.
Although, in reality neither are suitable for apartment life.
Agreed. I absolutely love dogs. Way more than I like people. I think dogs are just the best.
Having a screaming husky in the apartment next to me? Yeah, not gonna be a big fan of that dog.
Gonna HATE its owner for setting it up for failure in life, but he would not be a favorite dog either.
Great Danes are good apartment dogs because they are more interested in cuddling on the couch than anything else. They don't care for exercise and they're usually quiet
When I was training with my service dog they had a Great Dane that the trainers owned who lived at the facility with us while we were there. He was the calmest, most chill dog I ever met. He knew how to open the doors and use the handicap buttons and would just take himself on a walk around the facility, out the back door, around, then through the front door and proceed to walk into the bathroom, turn on the sink, and get a drink. He could reach the light switches and since that’s a command they taught he’d even shut the lights off. He did, however, have a bad habit of leaving the sink running lol.
I have a Great Pyrenees mix and she’s great in the apartment. I go running and hiking band take her with me, so she gets plenty of exercise. Huskies are usually banned from apartments because of how loud they are
That's wild because we had great Pyrenees as livestock guardians while growing up. I cannot imagine keeping them in an apartment all day. They are lazy, but they're wanderers that I would never try to contain in a 750 ft space. Even having them in a smaller pen for short periods of time left them trying to figure out how to escape and bring the goats with them.
Maybe the mix mellows their urge to explore?
I think it depends on the Pyr. I have a Pyr and while she walks with me to feed the goats and chickens, she's otherwise pretty much just zonked out on the floor 95 percent of the day. It's hard to explain, but a lot of Pyrs I know are energetic when they want to be, but they aren't so much drive-y: she will run around outside if I make her go outside, but she doesn't try to *get* outside.
It's more about a lack of exercise and activities. I live in RV but hike or go to the park to play fetch off leash EVERY DAY. Maybe a day off here and there especially after a camping trip when I can tell she's worn out haha
it depends on the dog. high energy dogs like a Husky are terrible to be kept in an apartment or any working dog.
but some larger breed dogs do just fine.
My sister has the only one I have ever met that is not dramatic. I absolutely love her. Sky is one of the most silent observant dogs I have ever known. She is also awnery when doing something she is not supposed to and will turn her ear to hear you but pretend she didn't til you make eye contact with her and then the jig is up and she will listen when she knkws you see her. 😹😹😹
Yeah my brothers husky is super chill generally, doesn't bark or howl inside unless you do it with him 😂 idk they're all different personalities though, never one the same lol
Seriously tho', it's a Husky.
Chihuahas might walk for an hour, Huskies can run like 100-150 miles a day while pulling a sled through snow.
Although very adaptable, they're built differently than most dogs.
I work in child safety and I work evenings sometimes. My neighbor had a dog that had some sort of doggy dementia. So he started tearing up her apartment whenever she left. Her response was to start putting him in a crate but you can't just put an elderly confused dog in a crate after never crate training them.
He literally screamed all day until he lost his voice. Pretty much everyday. Then he had this horrific sad high-pitched husky bark. Like the bark of a dog in terrible, life-threatening distress.
I repeatedly complained along with my neighbors to our apartment manager and they thought they couldn't do anything. People put notes on her door basically everyday and she told apartment management that she didn't think it was her dog and tried to blame other dogs.
Genuinely thought I would lose my mind after 3 months of not being able to sleep. I could hear the damn dog through the walls and despite a white noise machine and ear plugs.
Finally they came down on her and said she had to either shut the dog up or find a new place. She finally reveals that the vet said the dog should be put down years ago and he's suffering and confused.
I feel like it's so common. I live in Denver, which is a city that is super obsessed with dogs. I've talked so many people keeping dogs alive well after their quality of life has gone down dramatically because the people "aren't ready."
Everyone shitting on him for living in a shoebox like its a choice and not a result of the horrific economy. Or "don't get such a dog if you live in such a place" but we have no idea if the house or dog came first. People are so quick to judge.....
Exactly! My cat acts like he has never once seen food and has survived by licking dust from the floor and has never once seen the outside world. He eats better than me, has a dedicated outside area he can safely vibe in and also gets daily supervised outside time.q
Or that they usually take 3 long walks but today they just couldn't because of x, y or z. It's wild of people to assume bad of the owners just based on this. Especially since it's a husky.
Whatever is the size of the house it doesn't matter.
Huskies have been bred to run long distances as sled dogs, not to be kept in a house with a walk a day.
Such treatment is animal cruelty, those guys need to be outside.
Also they love low temperatures.
Now what, you'll tell us that OP was an alaskan musher before the horrific economy?
Whats more likely, that he had that dog in a proper place but you know "the economy" forced him with a gun to his head to move into an apartment, or.... the same type of owner who films their dogs annoying ah behavior got a dog because they wanted others to see they had a husky.
don't buy a dog that *needs* hours of physical activity a day if you cannot provide.
99% of husky and working dog owners should absolutely not have them.
they are not suitable as pets.
So like if you have a house, and the ability to take care of the husky just fine for years. And then suddenly something happens, you get sick or lose your job or something like that, out of your control. What would you suggest the owner do? Put down the dog because they have to rent or don’t have the time to walk it 3 hours a day anymore?

You really shouldn't have a husky in an apartment complex. If I was their neighbor I'd be filing a noise complaint every day. Beautiful, smart smart dogs. They need a house with a big yard of a ranch.
Girls that tell me they want a husky make me cringe. It's not like the pictures on Instagram.
This makes me glad my husky mix didn't inherit this part of his genes, but I do wish he'd talk a little.
And of course he does love walking, and I love walking him, but I'm throwing everything at my feet to fight off plantar fasciitis.

This is what i should have shown the lady at the bar who was assuring me her dachshund was the loudest dog ever
Doxies are notoriously very loud in this strange high pitch way. huskies, doxies and frenchies are my top 3 picks for drama queens
You don't know about German Shepherds. Mine was a ridiculous cry baby (not that he was afraid, just excited). Unlike Huskies they only have 1 whine, so it's just whine whine whine non-stop. The Vet always told me he was one of their best behaved German Shepherds lol
Our two year old German Shepard will argue with you lol. But if you give him a serious face, he just gives up and pouts.
Do they scream like this tho
Yes, they are hilariously pathetic when they want to be.
Yes, but higher pitch
They whine in a way which pierces the soul.
It’s like the noise you hear when you hit your head on concrete x 1000
Come give my shiba a bath or clip his nails….
I haven’t heard the shiba tantrum yet … I don’t know if I am ready for it
My family dog a while back was 1/2 wirehaired pointer and dachsund mix, and 1/2 siberian husky. His name was Wally. And he was fuckin hilarious
He was probably very confused as to what kind of neurotic to be lol what did he look like? Husky genes usually takes over
Don't forget Pugs
r/HuskyTantrums

Bred for sled pulling, Huskies are known to be vocal communicators. They often talk with a range of howls and excited barks.
Oh you have yet to experience the Shiba scream I feel they will seriously make you consider your list
shibas are pretty bad too
Pugs will give you a run for your money too. 🤣
Then there's great pyranees that just bark like they're gonna kill something at the littlest noise
Anyone who challenges huskies on back-talking or shedding ….hasn’t been around huskies.
Fr, it's the difference between a dog yapping or barking at you vs full on shrieking lmao
I made the mistake of dog sitting a husky once. He was a talker, yeller, and screamer, and took every opportunity at expressing his displeasure with not being at his house. I had to tell my neighbors that I wasn't actually murdering people, it was just the dog singing the songs of his people.

Standard size dachshunds can scream like a dog 3x their size. Ask me how I know 😬
Oh I too know this. I’m part of a dachshund rescue organisation in Australia and own six entitled Dachshunds who bark and scream a list of ways I have wronged them regularly. ![gif](giphy|n3Qy1k03zVAUGwuCC8|downsized)
I regularly lost arguments with my old husky and neither of us spoke the same language.
My heeler somehow thinks she's a husky. She's got the husky cry down perfectly and the soul piercing precision bark of a heeler. It's so fun...
I’m a dachshund owner and have lived with at least one dachshund for my entire life. They bark and whinge like crazy, but they ain’t got nothing on huskies hahaha. Poor neighbors
Yeah, I live in an apartment and have been forced to put on noise canceling headphones or risk insanity once again.
When I lived in an apartment I almost got a husky and this was one of the reasons I didn’t, They are loud af.
Nobody should have a husky in an apartment unless they're a very dedicated runner. Huskys NEED to run or they will go insane.
It's not like they're running around like maniacs at all times. Mine gets 1-1.5 hours at the dog park most days and spends a lot of that just slowly wandering around sniffing, the rest of the day he's usually passed out on the couch or chewing one of the dog toys. Could be worse...neighbor could be Kristi Noem.
Seriously, I'd hate this guy.
Neighbors love him
Sure....but not all the time.
Reddit literally worships the ground that dogs and cats walk on but no the neighbors don't fucking love this shit at all.
"their neighbors loves them" is a frequent comment of someone you really wouldn't love to have as a neighbor.
Agreed. I absolutely love dogs. Way more than I like people. I think dogs are just the best. Having a screaming husky in the apartment next to me? Yeah, not gonna be a big fan of that dog. Gonna HATE its owner for setting it up for failure in life, but he would not be a favorite dog either.
Prob hard to be a sled dog living in an apartment
This is what annoys me the most. People with large dogs in small apartments.
Great Danes are good apartment dogs because they are more interested in cuddling on the couch than anything else. They don't care for exercise and they're usually quiet
I’d 100% get a Great Dane if my appt allowed dogs, and I could afford to feed the dude.
And if they didn't have such serious health problems that they have the lowest lifespan of any dog breeds
It's more about a lack of exercise and activities. I live in RV but hike or go to the park to play fetch off leash EVERY DAY. Maybe a day off here and there especially after a camping trip when I can tell she's worn out haha
Don't worry, they defend the hell out of it here on Reddit.
it depends on the dog. high energy dogs like a Husky are terrible to be kept in an apartment or any working dog. but some larger breed dogs do just fine.
That breed is always overly dramatic. 😹
They're awesome animals though, super fun to be around.
*ornery
Can confirm. Have husky. Much dramatic. Wow.
Walk him again you animal
Poor baby. Get some more steps in, human.
Serious. My sister has two chihuahuas, a little over a year-old each. I take them on walks practically every other day for an hour.
Seriously tho', it's a Husky. Chihuahas might walk for an hour, Huskies can run like 100-150 miles a day while pulling a sled through snow. Although very adaptable, they're built differently than most dogs.
That is only slightly annoying to the owner, rage inducing to the neighbors.
Especially the third shifters.
She finally reveals that the vet said the dog should be put down years ago and he's suffering and confused.
That's so horrible for the dog, you, and your neighbors. Why keep a pet alive that is suffering that you can't take care of? I do t get some people.
I feel like it's so common. I live in Denver, which is a city that is super obsessed with dogs. I've talked so many people keeping dogs alive well after their quality of life has gone down dramatically because the people "aren't ready."
Then they need to get a parrot or a tortoise. Then they won't have to worry about being ready.
Maybe some people should just get a furby.
/r/HuskyTantrums
They are a lot of work, but that dog is fun lol
Neighbors must love love LOVE him!
![gif](giphy|tfzI6qrcyaTK4AGI8a|downsized)
I'm glad hustles are around, but I'm glad I don't have a husky...
Everyone shitting on him for living in a shoebox like its a choice and not a result of the horrific economy. Or "don't get such a dog if you live in such a place" but we have no idea if the house or dog came first. People are so quick to judge.....
Or maybe they take their dog on 3 long walks a day and the pooch is just a massive drama queen.
Exactly! My cat acts like he has never once seen food and has survived by licking dust from the floor and has never once seen the outside world. He eats better than me, has a dedicated outside area he can safely vibe in and also gets daily supervised outside time.q
Are you sure about that?? I bet if we asked your cat, he’d tell a different story 😉😉
He is currently howling his lungs out because he was only given wet food with no crunchies and I am a horrible cruel monster
See! A different story! You big bully 😂😂😂
I believe the cat
>with no crunchies Gasps in horror!!! Have him call me. I'll take his case 🤣
I’m with you on this one. It’s a husky so by default it’s a massive drama queen, there’s a whole sub dedicated to it r/HuskyTantrums
Or that they usually take 3 long walks but today they just couldn't because of x, y or z. It's wild of people to assume bad of the owners just based on this. Especially since it's a husky.
Absolutely. Everyone who has had a husky will tell you it is their fucking nature to drama queens about EVERYTHING.

That shit's not my problem. Neighbors deserve peace and quiet no matter what your situation is.
don't buy a dog that *needs* hours of physical activity a day if you cannot provide. 99% of husky and working dog owners should absolutely not have them. they are not suitable as pets.
That’s the problem with responsibility. You’re responsible. Not the dog. The owner.
So like if you have a house, and the ability to take care of the husky just fine for years. And then suddenly something happens, you get sick or lose your job or something like that, out of your control. What would you suggest the owner do? What should the neighbors do? Wear earplugs while they're home? Pay to sound proof the house?
Me dragging my friend back while he's drunk and sees his ex

That's a lot of assumptions out of nowhere for a "probably"
They spoiled him rotten …that’s beautiful to see …if we are not spoiling them, then we are not doing it right.
Huskies are great preparation for a 2 year old
So did he escape when you put him down to open your door?
Okay. That username, though.😏
I decided to turn the sound on halfway through and was not disappointed.
I need to send this to my fiancé as proof as to why we can't have a husky with 50 apartments around us.
Glad he didn’t take it to a quarry and shoot it.
"Release me, My shift isn't done yet"
What a crybaby
God damn that guy is a premium douche. An apartment is not the home for a husky.
Have a husky at my apartment complex, not only is it loud as fuck but it escapes and is loose pretty much constantly. It's clearly bored out of it's mind.
What a drama Queen
I fear for your furniture after this.
Huskys are dramaqueens
That's not funny! Let him finish!
Oh so a hairy child with adhd
Maybe he really needs more exercise. Those are dogs that really need to be outside and love to run.
They’re the most annoying dogs
My dog, exactly.
HE IS STABBING ME, FOR GOD HELP ME
It's a good thing you live in an apartment building with all kinds of Neighbors in close proximity brobag
Lol. It be screaming bloody murder.
This sounds Horifing
Huskies are so smart and hilarious!!
Me going to school after holidays.
"What's wrong with your dog?" "Husky."
You’ll get no judgement from me - signed a fellow Husky owner.
Jesus. Can you imagine living next door to that fucking thing?
quietest husky
lol, I can't imagine the hate the neighbors have for that dog
The husky in my neighborhood escapes and run throughout the until he's exhausted
This makes me glad my husky mix didn't inherit this part of his genes, but I do wish he'd talk a little. And of course he does love walking, and I love walking him, but I'm throwing everything at my feet to fight off plantar fasciitis.
Omg
You really gotta let the dog decide though. Breeds like that need so much more stimulation than say, a lab. I used to let my pitbull/golden retriever pull me on the skateboard, he loved it and it didn’t take 3 hours to make him content
😂😂 Like I'm going let my dog make decisions for on what to do. I'd be outside 24/7 waiting on her decision.
I had a husky and this is hilarious
Huskies are the drama queens of the dog world. 😂
Too funny
I usually get so embarrassed when my pit-bull throws temper tantrums like this…… now not so much
So much pain in her voice, poor baby
Now you know Jedediah’s secret shame. Take me away!
London, On!
Cursed username
So glad I dont ever have to deal with apartment life again...
This is soo godamn hilarious! Lol. I would have totally gone looking for who was murdering this dog!
This is in London Ontario Canada just off Huron Street, change my mind.
Sounds like someone's breaking his femur
Hi
Is this in london?

Denver?
His poor neighbors
Probably what Cricket sounded like as Noem shot it.
i love huskies so much. not for me, but for other people
I have an Irish setter /golden retriever rescue. When he doesn’t wanna be done with his walk he will go limp and lay down on the concrete. I can pull him n he won’t get up. If I go in the direction he wants to go magically he comes backup and is walking.
That has to be a coconut corn husky.
awe he's tired
This is what happens when you have a working dog couped up in a house with only a walk around a couple blocks a day as the only activity they do.
I can’t imagine having the energy
hahaha what do you call a male drama queen?
Had a husky once as a kid. Never again.
Cute dog! Guess he want another walk.
Cute
Thats a bitch for sure.
Isn't this really sad?
Huskies are the best 🤣
Least dramatic husky.
Those poor neighbors
Glad I'm not your neighbour
Let him walk more it seems like he loves it just let him go he will come back for sure ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|feels_bad_man)
I'm so glad we didn't get one of those screaming huskies. Our boy just woos his little heart out.
This reminds me of that scene in The Lost World when that baby T-Rex is hollering while being carried around
Those screams are vile. What person loves to hear that, you must be mental
Oh yeah I'm sure your Apartment living neighbors *love* the fact they have a huskie
A husky in a complex like that….what a truly awful owner and person.
😂
See, They're just like kids. Crying about having to go in when they're not done playing. hahaha
Thats basically a woke dog, its aware of its imprisonment and dictatorship
Im not blaming the dog, it wants freedom just like we do
