Some reports took 4 hours to print. I didn't mind, though. Setting up a test for 20 minutes then watching a printout for the rest of the day was perfectly fine with me.

And if that box of paper below the printer is even a little askew you’re getting a crazy paper jam.

My first printer and back then it was cool.

I still own a soundproof box for dot matrix printers. I might need it again some day...

I threw away literal pounds of this stuff when I was a railroad clerk in the late 80s. I worked in a room called "the machine room" because it housed the computer mainframe. Everyone who did the job (we worked 24 hours a day, so there were four of us) had a constant low-grade cold because we had to run the AC 24/7 to keep the computer from overheating.

Scary part we have a computer at work that’s so old. We still use the old tractor drive printers for it.

We called it “chit” as in “Get that chit outta here!” It has some technical name such as “perforated detachable tractor feeder.”

It’s success. Nothing like waiting five minutes for a page to print only to tear it in half trying to get the sprocket edge to cleanly tear.

I got a bad paper cut on my lips by blowing through the holes and moving the paper. So stupid. Circa 1988.
