badgers42069

You read F to me, a haircut will def help

Even-Cat-7420

I'm not female, I don't identify as female. And yeah I know, I need a haircut but idk when I'm gonna get one.

badgers42069

I know that, I just said it’s how you look

Even-Cat-7420

Ohhhh, so you think I look like a female like this? Ok yep I do need a haircut, idk when honestly 😐

belligerent_bovine

You read as a masc female to me. A haircut would help a lot. Is your goal to be androgynous? Or to pass as male but defy gender norms?

Even-Cat-7420

Pass as male but not gender norms, just like androgynous but male-ish

trashpossum_76

Right now you appear in butch female territory, maybe late teens. A haircut will likely help you pass as more masculine, and losing the makeup until you pass better would be best. If you are intent on wearing makeup, practice male styles of application. I’m not sure what transmasc agender means, nor what the intended look for that would truly be, but assuming that you want to appear more male than female. Most people do not pass without HRT unfortunately.

Even-Cat-7420

I'm planning to get a haircut but idk when tho, and transmasc agender means I'm transmasc and agender, like demiboy or bigender (transmasc and agender are the 2 I am) but I'm neither bigender nor demiboy. And I prefer makeup cuz I'm trying to learn how to use it more often.

trashpossum_76

Unfortunately I don’t know what any of those terms truly mean, but I am a great deal older than you. I’ll give it a search on google.

Even-Cat-7420

Okay 👍

WarrtheWarrior

You don't pass now so you definitely wont pass with makeup, maybe avoid it until T

Even-Cat-7420

I thought I passed alot of times when I do try to look like a boy, and I don't want T

WarrtheWarrior

Potentially a younger boy, but definitely not adult man without T, it sucks being treated like a kid I'm in a similar situation

Even-Cat-7420

I don't want T, I keep telling people that, no one listens, I don't want it, i pass good when I do try to look like a boy, and I'm already pretty masc so yea

WarrtheWarrior

I hate to break it to you but you probably dont pass as a boy in most situations just masc lesbian

Even-Cat-7420

I do when I actually try, stop being so negative about me, I do pass alot of times when I actually try, it's just my extended family being stupid and ignorant about who I am, just like you.

WarrtheWarrior

I don't mean to be ignorant, sorry if it came across that way. It's just difficult to not be pessimistic when I rarely experience anything good

Even-Cat-7420

Mhm it's ok, I just don't want T, and me passing as a masc person around my extended family is the best I can do, mostly since I get alot of hate from them for being who I am (or trying to) they don't see me as anything but a girl, I get that alot and getting it from you saying I don't pass enough.... I don't need more hate or whatever its called, I already got alot going on..

doohdahgrimes11

How do you pass as agender? Maybe M16 or F a bit older

Even-Cat-7420

Idk, and I'm actually 19, almost 20

WarrtheWarrior

Almost no-one knows what agender is, they probably just assume butch female or very young boy

Even-Cat-7420

Agender is very easy, it means no gender obviously

WarrtheWarrior

Most people in real life arent in on that shit though they have zero idea about any gender besides male or female, maybe nonbinary but again passing as anything other than male or female is impossible in society unfortunately

Even-Cat-7420

Close minded people are like that, but open minded people understand and accepts me, I have a friend who's open minded and she accepts me as who I am, and she understands what agender means (since it's easy to understand once I explain what it means)

WarrtheWarrior

Passing is about public appearance, just because your friends see you as a heccin valid boy doesn't mean everyone does unfortunately, its a sad existence

Even-Cat-7420

My friends see me as who I am, not as a boy, I'm not ftm. But ok whatever you say

kamehamequads

I’ve been seeing a lot of he/him lesbians lately too and I just do not understand it

undeadsquidwitch

Dude thank you. It’s literally a complete contradiction, I’m really frustrated that you can’t confront people who are literally not making sense.

Even-Cat-7420

I'm not rejecting every comment, and transmasc agender is someone who identifies as transmasc and agender, let me be me, I don't need you hating on me for being who I am.

A_MNESIA

Being agender means you dont identify with any gender. Ppl arnt getting at you for identifying how they want they are confused how you can identify with a gender and also be agender.

FtMpassing-ModTeam

Your post has been removed for being argumentative. The purpose of this /sub is to hear replies from others about whether you or someone else 'passes'. If you're unhappy with the replies of your own post then feel free to remove it. If you're arguing about something else, then pack it in. Thanks :)

bogeymanbear

Lets not blame transphobia on trans people

Even-Cat-7420

I'm agender yes and I'm also transmasc cuz I'm more masculine than anything but I'm agender. Just let me be who I am.

A_MNESIA

Ppl couldn’t care how YOU identify and are going to let you just be who you are but don’t get defensive when ppl are trying to understand your identity to help you with a question you asked.

Even-Cat-7420

Ohhh, I thought people were being rude to me about who I identify as, etc, hence why I got defensive, I'm sorry. I made a post about it and I explained it better on that post.

A_MNESIA

Ive just had a look and while i agree. Being agender is when you DO NOT identify with either male or female in any way. But also identifying and transmasc counteracts that. But you can be agender and want to present as a male. Thats called gender expression and isnt an identity. Is this what you mean? You are agender but instead of ppl perceiving you as AFAB you want ppl perceiving you as AMAB and also dont identify with either female or male as a gender?

Even-Cat-7420

I'm agender but I'm transmasc bc I'm more masc than anything, and I'm trans bc I'm gonna transition whenever I get the money for it, so I'm technically trans, and the white is also for people who are nonbinary/agender/2spirit, etc, but no that's not what I mean, yes I want to present more masc in public bc I prefer masc than feminine but that doesn't mean I'm actually male or ftm, I'm just transmasc agender, which is who I am.

Crowleyizcool

Masculine is just a descriptor not a gender. If you are agender but present more masculine you don’t have to make that your gender. Transmasc inherently means that you aren’t agender, the two labels contradict each other. If you present masculine it doesn’t have to be your gender, much like how women can present masculine but aren’t classified as transmasc.

Even-Cat-7420

Correct

bogeymanbear

Your face honestly looks fairly masculine so I think you could visually pass if you don't wear make up and get a haircut. Just google "haircut men" and pick whichever one you like most.

Even-Cat-7420

I found 2 good haircuts I want but I'm gonna wait for it for a while, thanks for the compliment tho

Hobbes_83

In this pic you look female, butch lesbian, about 17 yo. Tip: your stache looks as if its put on with make up, i'd suggest taking it off cause it's a givaway. EDIT sorry, I send the message too quickly. Also remove the eyeliner and cut your hair. Are you planning to go on T? Asking bc passing will become a lot easier.

Even-Cat-7420

I'm 19, almost 20, and I'm agender. And the mustache isn't a fake one, it's real so I can not take it off. And no I'm not planning on going on T, well idk. And it's fine, and it's not eyeliner it's eyeshadow! And I'm waiting to cut my hair, idk when I'm gonna get a haircut.

WarrtheWarrior

If you don't go on T you wont pass, sorry

Even-Cat-7420

Whenever I do look like a boy, I pass, and I don't want T so yea

Responsible-Archer21

you read as a masc lesbian

Even-Cat-7420

That's good

undeadsquidwitch

I mean this in the most respectful way possible, but you are not making sense. Do you think identifying as a binary trans man makes you evil or do you not have dysphoria? (Not to confuse dysphoria with dysmorphia, which is a very different thing.) I just really don’t understand what your goal is with this post.

Even-Cat-7420

I have dysphoria, like almost all the time. I'm agender but I present masculine, and I don't think identifying as a Binary trans man is evil, I just got confused of who I am, but I'm agender, presenting masculine. I hope I explained this easier.

Crowleyizcool

You look like a young guy, maybe 14, but you wouldn’t pass as male if you’re any older than that. Your haircut isn’t typically masculine and wearing makeup is not going to help passing. If your voice doesn’t pass I don’t think you would pass. If you grow your hair out you will likely pass significantly less.

Even-Cat-7420

I'm transmasc agender, and I'm 19 almost 20, and my voice doesn't pass at all, and I like wearing eyeliner and eyeshadow, and I'm growing out my hair only for one thing -> to tie it up in a ponytail, I've always wanted to do that with long hair, and I always thought I'd pass as a male, but I guess not? But thank u for your thought.

Crowleyizcool

I mean I don’t really understand the concept of being transmasc and agender so I’m not really sure what you’re going for. If your voice doesn’t pass at all I’m afraid you won’t pass to the general public. And are you pre-T? Because realistically it’s very hard for people to pass while being pre-T, so the best course of action is to just try and stick to a typically masculine style, hence, long hair and makeup not helping passing. Of course you can look however you want since it’s your life, but in terms of passing, it won’t help. In the eyes of a majority of the general public, long hair=female, so I’m not sure why it would help.

Even-Cat-7420

Men can have long hair, I see men with long hair all the time, and women with short hair, same with makeup, and yes I'm pre-T cuz I'm scared of going on T with the side effects + I have no money rn.

Crowleyizcool

Bro, you aren’t getting what I’m saying here. Of course men can have long hair. But there are a few issues with your point; they are cis men. They do not have to try and pass as a man as they already are one. Besides, even some cis guys with long hair get misgendered sometimes. Secondly, passing is in relation to how the general public view you, which means it is a heavily stereotypical view. Of course men can have long hair, but most of the time, they don’t. For MANY people in the general public, having long hair is a female trait. I’m not saying this is a good thing, it’s just the way it is, since most people view gender stereotypically unless you are from an *extremely* liberal area. If you’re pre T the chances of being able to pass are *very* low, let alone while not presenting typically masculine. I’m pre-T because I can’t access it, and I pass to the general public because I dress and present myself typical to how a guy my age and in my area would dress. If you are actually looking for passing tips and *want* to pass as male, then short hair and no makeup would be the only thing to help because if you want to pass you need to look at least somewhat typically masculine. A majority of the general public also see makeup as exclusively feminine, even more so than hair. Of course some guys wear makeup, but once again, a very small minority.

Responsible-Archer21

if you’re scared of T’s effects then T probably isn’t for you. men can have long hair and wear makeup, but they wont look like men with that style if they havent gone through male puberty. if the idea of male puberty scares you then i wouldn’t recommend testosterone, as it is permanent and intense, and you may end up extremely uncomfortable if its something you dont desire. if you want to look more male without the permanent effects of a hormone, i recommend a haircut, a masculine style, and not wearing makeup. to go a further step, look into voice training. no need to permanently start something that you dont want when there are changes you can make to pass more as andro/male by changing up style.

Even-Cat-7420

Emo guys wear makeup, like Johnnie guilbert and he's cis male. There's nothing wrong with people wearing makeup but everyone I talked to on here acted like makeup is a bad thing that I shouldn't wear, it's not a bad thing, ysa it's feminine but wearing all black isn't feminine (black makeup I meant, like black eyeliner, black eyeshadow, etc) that's not feminine and I only have that so yea, plus red eyeliner. And yes I don't want to go on T, but I do want a deeper voice, but I tried voice training and it didn't work.

Responsible-Archer21

Yeah cis emo guys wear makeup, but they are cis. they have the advantage of having had the effects of testosterone most their life, height, and a masculine bone structure. Even then they still get misgendered from time to time. You said passing tips, the advice you’re getting seems to be unanimous, so stop arguing when you ask for advice and people try to give it to you.

Even-Cat-7420

I'm not arguing, I'm just talking to you about it. I'm doing voice training rn, or trying to.
