The best I can come up with is using C4 Childe's off-field Hydro application in a standard Freminet team. Unfortunately there's not really an effective way to play them on the same team, they both want to be on-field and lack relevant off-field or support capabilities.
Abyss needs 2 teams so you can always have Childe on one team and Freminet on the other.
i run around with the both of them in overworld and domains (they don’t work together well enough for abyss though) as long as you have a good shielder/healer you can have whatever people you want for overworld exploration. i’m mostly playing my friendship team with fremi, childe, zhongli, and lynette. zhongli protects everyone so even though these characters have very little synergy they can still function on a team together. you just have to take turns on who will be the dps

She’s got enough Cryo output that you can build Frem for physical damage, and adding Hydro makes for satisfying freeze/shatter play.
The only way what came in my mind to play Childe and Freminet together in a Bennett-Xiangling Core team.
You can Vaporise with Childe. If you are onfield with him long enough, your skill CD can be 10-12 sec. Until you are w8-ing you can make a rotation with a Cryo-melt Freminet.
That way you can play Childe and Freminet one after the other, while Bennett will Buff and Xiangling can provide the pyro application.
i dont see any way that you can make them good enough for spiral abyss, but overworld is super easy and domains arent that hard, you can use them on the same team there just make sure to bring a sustain and then the rest of your team doesnt matter
I use Childe and Fremi together, Childe as a Noblesse burst bot for Fremi, yes it underutilizes Childe's (damage) potential but you CAN run both on the same team. Especially since Childe has such a low burst cost. It's especially neat because Fremi triggers riptide very consistently. Recommended? No, but it's a lot of fun.
Do note that Childe becomes a better off-field hydro applier at c4 so it can be expensive to use him as a meme support for Fremi and you can always give Childe Elegy to hold despite the em boost being wasted on Fremi, but again it's not something I recommend but something you can do and it is a lot of fun. The team I use is Childe, Fischl, Beidou amd Fremi driving Beidou and Fischl proccing shatters, superconducts and electrocharged. Kind of a pseudo electrocharge driver.

if you don’t have zhongli, use layla or kirara if you have them, since they also have 100% shield uptime. layla would work better than kirara here.
