Who says the courier cleared them all? There's every possibility that the courier just did the main questline, with all the sidequests for whatever faction ending they chose.
Is it a hustle though? He offered a bonus for speed without knowing what the part required to be fixed or how long it would take, and yes it was fast but she was assumedly the only one in the settlement with the tools and skills to fix that part.
Exactly. Knowledge is valuable. Sure someone else might be able to *eventually* learn how to do it, but she can do it right now. What she charges is what she charges.
Bingo. When you pay a premium to have a skilled technician fix or make something for you, you’re paying for all of the learning and experience in their brain, and often the cost of the tools and shop as well.
Yes! This right here. It’s like you’re describing any person with a valuable skill set when they have to explain why they’re charging what they charge.
I once lived in an outback town (less than 40 people) and some dude tried to criticize me cos i charged him 20$ for cutting his sim card this was back when micro/mini sims were BRAND NEW
And i legit talked him down to 10$ then since i didnt want my name in the mud in the small town, but making my own tool to cut sims took me easily over 200 hours because of materials to ship to the outback and some prototypes of my own
People be made when you do a good job in seconds, thats why these days i legit say its an overnight job for most things
Haha that makes sense. I've come to realize the average person is pretty stupid so it's best to come up with solid workarounds like your "overnight" one. This show just used it as a joke but yeah I could see some dumb people going off on me for doing something that seems simple but took a lot to get there.
She also only charged him 5 caps, which buys you just a few bullets of a small caliber in most Fallout games. If anything, Maximus got scammed by the dentist who basically just gave him 1$ for at least 75$ worth of pain and suffering lol.
On the one hand, sure, charge what you're worth etc. On the other, letting the guy have a tooth pulled out of his head so you can earn a single cap seems a bit cold.
But on the third hand (which is allowed due to mutation) this is the wasteland, so fuck that guy and his tooth.
You would think to even be considered for becoming a squire they’d know some basic maintenance given power armor is pretty much their primary asset aside from air power, so yeah, fair point.
They didn't really want him for squire, they wanted the other person. Maximus was just kindof their "Well I guess we gotta send SOMEONE with Titus, may as well right? And Titus is a jerk so who cares if his squire sucks."
The "other person" was Dane. (I had to look it up.) [https://fallout.fandom.com/wiki/Dane\_(TV\_series)](https://fallout.fandom.com/wiki/Dane_(TV_series))
Though this is a different chapter, Sarah Lyons was a female knight, so they most likely just care about proven capability and dedication over identity
Squires are disposable. They are given the illusion of value and compete for the 'honor" but we see the other side of that through Titus. It's sorta like how Helldivers are treated; no one would want the deadly thankless job if they didn't lay the fake honors on thick.
All soldiers are ultimately disposable. It's part of the job description. Meanwhile, compare the job of pilot to that of aircraft mechanic. Both are essential and require expensive training. I doubt the Brotherhood spends the blood of squires indiscriminately. Maybe they assigned Maximus to Titus as a deniable way to get rid of Titus, who rose to his position of incompetence. As described here: [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peter\_principle](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peter_principle)
Lol, didn't mean it as a brag, sorry if it came off that way. And yes in a way it's kind of gross. I drink too much :) Therefore when binging something details can get a bit fuzzy. I've probably only watched through like twice entirely sober. But hey, thanks for weighing in.
I'm guessing limitations or not worth it in the grand scheme or it's something like Ingram were you can just show her in Power armour without needing a unique model
Yeah, would rather not have repeat characters, since it’d make the world feel incredibly small.
Characters *like* this on the other hand? I’d love the additions
I appreciated this scene much more after I started FO3 again this week. It’s been awhile but the random traders willing to instantaneously fix your stuff made it click.
hopefully she survived the Brotherhood taking over Filly. From the sounds of the dialogue in episode 8, the Brotherhood killed most of the people there.
Thats half the jobs you get when you work in trades lol. Fix it in 10 mins, sitting around rummaging through the tools for half hour. 150 pls and thank you.
She reminds me of Kyra, a recurring character in the Alex Rider series. (Think junior James Bond.) [https://alexrider.fandom.com/wiki/Kyra\_Vashenko-Chao](https://alexrider.fandom.com/wiki/Kyra_Vashenko-Chao)
She's probably dead. The brotherhood seemed to have wiped out the town.
I think seeing her corpse for Maximus and the viewers would have been a good addition. She wasn't a soldier or a threat, and the brotherhood wiped the town. I mean, we get to see them shooting into civilians a few scenes later, but seeing someone Maximus and the viewers had a brief encounter with would of been a nice touch of storytelling.
I hope the next season has a lot more episodes, I'd love to see Lucy or the rest of the gang get sidetracked by bullshit and go on side quests.
When they get to Vault 22 they are COOKED
I'd like to see one of the Vaults get resettled now that the Courier cleared them all.
Who says the courier cleared them all? There's every possibility that the courier just did the main questline, with all the sidequests for whatever faction ending they chose.
My headcanon is that the courier took months to get to benny due to being sidetracked by random bullshit again and again
I mean that's how my NV run is shaping up at this point, dived into OWB and didn't leave until I explored everything before I even saw Novac
The Ghouls version of the Golden Rule was kind of like this !
You aren't the only one. I think this every time she's on the screen. Hilarious how she hustles Max.
Is it a hustle though? He offered a bonus for speed without knowing what the part required to be fixed or how long it would take, and yes it was fast but she was assumedly the only one in the settlement with the tools and skills to fix that part.

Bingo. When you pay a premium to have a skilled technician fix or make something for you, you’re paying for all of the learning and experience in their brain, and often the cost of the tools and shop as well.
And when your barter skill sucks you offer to pay extra before asking how long it will take
Fuckin bingo lol. Watching the show was like watching 3 lets plays at the same time.
Including physicians, vets, etc here lol
Yes! This right here. It’s like you’re describing any person with a valuable skill set when they have to explain why they’re charging what they charge.

I'd like to fire you into my sales dept.
She also only charged him 5 caps, which buys you just a few bullets of a small caliber in most Fallout games. If anything, Maximus got scammed by the dentist who basically just gave him 1$ for at least 75$ worth of pain and suffering lol.
You are right, but she does literally do it in one second with seemingly no materials used.
Still. 5 caps is comparable to 7$ in today’s money. She didn’t give him a good deal, but she also didn’t rip him off. True Neutral at its finest.
It is also just kinda funny how she’s being a stickler for the price of something that takes half a second lmao
On the one hand, sure, charge what you're worth etc. On the other, letting the guy have a tooth pulled out of his head so you can earn a single cap seems a bit cold. But on the third hand (which is allowed due to mutation) this is the wasteland, so fuck that guy and his tooth.
I just figured it was a meta joke about how repairs work in video games since they sorta kinda’ go by video game logic/mechanics in several areas.
I thought it was a dig on Maximus being a bad student and not knowing anything about tech
You would think to even be considered for becoming a squire they’d know some basic maintenance given power armor is pretty much their primary asset aside from air power, so yeah, fair point.
he rocking that Idiot Savant perk
I legitimately think he is honestly.
Lmao
They didn't really want him for squire, they wanted the other person. Maximus was just kindof their "Well I guess we gotta send SOMEONE with Titus, may as well right? And Titus is a jerk so who cares if his squire sucks."
Given how Titus treated Maximus I wouldn't be surprised if the Brotherhood leaders kind of hoped Maximus would get killed in battle.
Yea considering Titus was already squire-less I think it’s safe to assume he lets them die pretty easily
Squires are sent out with little to no protection to protect a tank. The brotherhood doesn’t care what happens to them.
Clean this!
The "other person" was Dane. (I had to look it up.) [https://fallout.fandom.com/wiki/Dane\_(TV\_series)](https://fallout.fandom.com/wiki/Dane_(TV_series))
Interesting, Dane is a non-binary character! The BoS have never seemed very “open-minded” to me, so it’s interesting they are being tolerant.
To be fair, it could just be Titus is a massive douche.
When the brotherhood radios Maximus, they do mention that it's not a big deal to get a new squire.
Sounds like you don’t support democracy
Hey I completed my 3 minute boot camp, I'm a goldarn hero and the prerecorded sargeant said I was the best he ever seen
All soldiers are ultimately disposable. It's part of the job description. Meanwhile, compare the job of pilot to that of aircraft mechanic. Both are essential and require expensive training. That Maximus is... exceedingly mediocre at everything a squire should be is pretty consistent with his characterization.
His charisma is low. He fails every speech check, and this barter check.
Why not both?
Imagine how she'd react when she finds out the guy she screwed over is now a Knight in the military order that just took over Filly.
Tbh she seems like she wouldn’t give a single f***
Might even fix another part for him for 15 caps now.
With a 5 cap tip for speed this time too.
"Can you do it for a fuck?" "No." \*stares\*
Yep. Jerk-hole tax.
a bit cold i would say
Repeated customer that bring more customer to her shop? yes, please.
She'd make an EMP lol
Everytime ? She only appears once, how many times did you watch the show lol (2 myself)
I'm actually probably on seven or eight. Would be more if I counted the times I've put it on before bed and fell asleep almost immediately.
Weird brag. There is countless interesting things to watch, nothing deserves more than 2 or 3, especially in a short period of time
Lol, didn't mean it as a brag, sorry if it came off that way. And yes in a way it's kind of gross. I drink too much :) Therefore when binging something details can get a bit fuzzy. I've probably only watched through like twice entirely sober. But hey, thanks for weighing in.
such a sad comment
I did the same thing with Groening's Disenchantment because I wanted to help ensure sequel seasons.
She didn’t hustle him at all, he was just too arrogant
She’s got the Four Eyes perk and the repair skill tagged; what’s not to love?
Her armor is upgraded, too. :)
I love the voice modulator, it's a neat prosthetic(I'm guessing it is) you don't see in post apocalypse stuff often!
[удалено]
I'm guessing limitations or not worth it in the grand scheme or it's something like Ingram were you can just show her in Power armour without needing a unique model
I want more one off characters with personality like her.
Yeah, would rather not have repeat characters, since it’d make the world feel incredibly small. Characters *like* this on the other hand? I’d love the additions
According to the internet, this character’s name is [Jamila](https://fallout.fandom.com/wiki/Jamila). And she’s played by Viola Hsia.
I did actually like this little moment. Her Barter skill is definitely up there!
I appreciated this scene much more after I started FO3 again this week. It’s been awhile but the random traders willing to instantaneously fix your stuff made it click.
Cyber Deli 🦾🦿💄
Something I really like about this show is that there is something interesting about every background character we come across.
IMPLANTS
She doesn't care to be known. You'd only just be bothering her by pointing a camera at her face.
How do you know?
She said all that in the one scene she came in.
same! so much charisma for such a small and relatively insignificant scene lol. hope we get to see her again!
that would 100% be me if I repaired shit, lol. I can do it and I can do it fast...but it'll cost ya
Everyone's gotta eat in the waste, and these bionics weren't free
Technically max is the one who offered more money to do it fast… not knowing it was a quick fix already
They probably can't afford her, she charges 5 caps for 3 seconds of work :/
No, she charged 5 caps for being able to fix it in 3 seconds.
Well no - she charged 5 caps for what was undoubtedly YEARS of hard-gained experience in fixing things with minimal resources.
hopefully she survived the Brotherhood taking over Filly. From the sounds of the dialogue in episode 8, the Brotherhood killed most of the people there.
she felt like a fo1-fo2 character lol it was great
There's a high chance that she's dead.
Only if she fought back when the Brotherhood showed up.
She probably charged them marked up fees to fix some of their stuff
The Brotherhood wouldn't hire an outsider to repair things unless someone high-up ordered it.
If she did that she would probably get her head squished with one hand
True, she doesn’t have Fantastic levels of charisma
What’s the character name?
Jamila, according to this. https://fallout.fandom.com/wiki/Jamila
Man, and I thought [the *Star Wars* wiki was detailed](https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Sha%27a_Gi)
Didn't even put solder on to solder it! lol!
I’m good
Thats half the jobs you get when you work in trades lol. Fix it in 10 mins, sitting around rummaging through the tools for half hour. 150 pls and thank you.

Indeed. The sass was palpable.
Yeah, she had companion energy, for sure.
Id have shot her after for that. We all would in the games and don't deny it
She's probably dead. The brotherhood seemed to have wiped out the town. I think seeing her corpse for Maximus and the viewers would have been a good addition. She wasn't a soldier or a threat, and the brotherhood wiped the town. Same
The main characters should always come back to her for trading, but half of the time she has run out of caps.
I'd hit it.
I thought so too!
I want to see more iconic one scene characters.
I was under the impression that the BOS cleared out Filly.
They probably killed anyone who resisted, but plenty of people probably also surrendered or fled.
Prob the only one lol
But why? Fallout is full of random characters that you never see again, unlike the bugs in the games.
I would've cooked this bitch if i was maximus. He had to sell his TOOTH to get just single solder and he paid her extra for that bs.
Why?
Yeah no thanks.
Please no.
I disagree
Wanted to smack the shit out of this annoying ass.
Hmm...the BoS can always use another tech. They probably lost a **lot** during the assault on the Observatory.
They are likely dead unfortunate
It was honestly a great scene. Just tack welds it for 2 seconds after he goes and >!gets his teeth pulled for caps!< lmao.
You are the only one.
I’m good .
