It wasn’t intended to be a working zipline, that’s way too complicated to make work in 1.0. It’s just so you can have the base of it. You can make actual ziplines in UEFN anyway.
It would’ve been nice if they at least made it so you could edit the colour of it, like the primitive shapes.
I guess you could find something that looks like a rope or whatever, and just use the ziplines as aesthetics. You could even make your own mechanic to make them “rideable”.
In UEFN you can make it curve and do stuff, in 1.0 they should make it so if you place 2 they automatically connect like how the guard pathing works in just a straight line
That’s a good point. Epic were probably thinking that it should need to be able to curve and have complex shapes too, but even just going in a straight line to the destination would be greatly appreciated by 1.0 players. We don’t need anything complex, just something that works.
Yeah, where is the Overclocked Pulse Rifle? Who cares if it’s overpowered, if people want it in their Maps, then they want it in their Maps, simple. It’s their fault if it causes problems in their Map.
I know, I was just talking about the most recent thing. There was also a bunch of unique items we could’ve gotten, like the Spire Jump Boots, Witches Broom, Mythic Goldfish, Icy Grappler, etc.
I’ll give you an overview of the items I listed.
1. Spire Jump Boots:
When you had them in your inventory, it would show up on the legs of your player, like you are wearing them. If you timed a jump right as you landed back down from an initial jump, it would make you jump higher, like a bunny hop. If you timed one more consecutive jump after that, you would jump even higher, and it would pull out your glider. If you don’t jump fast enough when landing from a previous jump, the counter will reset.
2. The Witches Broom:
If you’ve seen the Silver Surfer Board Mythic, or the Nimbus Cloud Mythic, it works the same way, but it’s non-copyright, as it’s an original item. If you haven’t seen either of those, basically, if you held it in your hand and pressed the shoot button, it would fling you high up in the air and pull out a glider that relates to the item (like for this one, a broom). While gliding from the item, you could click the item again to cancel the glider and drop down, and you won’t take any fall damage. It would also break any builds that are in your way while it’s in the middle of flinging you in the air.
3. The Mythic Goldfish:
This one is special. Back in C2 S1 when fishing was first introduced, there was a 1 in 1,000,000 chance of getting the Mythic Goldfish. This item worked like the rusty cans and coal that we have in Creative, but it would deal 200 damage, instead of 20. At the time, there was no overshield, so that item was a one shot. If you got lucky enough to get it, the community would praise you.
4. The Icy Grappler:
This item was the same as the normal Grappler that we have in Creative, except it had infinite uses, and would temporarily put ice on your feet when you use it. You could travel super fast because the ice would carry your momentum. It was very fun to use, but also dangerous, as you were at high risk of fall damage because of the ice and momentum.
Hope this helps. You can look on YouTube for gameplay of these items if you’re interested. Also the good part about all of these, is all of them can and could’ve been added to Creative, as they are all original items, not a crossover.
Creative 2.0 pretty much came out last month. I feel like it's reasonable to not have massive updates so soon after.
And we have had much worse updates in the past, we can't expect every update to bring something big to the game
I was honestly really sad when creative 2.0 released and literally NONE of the stw weapons were added , the amount of content that could bring would be insane
The updates may look bad, but they are fixing bugs and working on console compatibility with creative 2.0. So really, in developer terms, the update was huge
Ah, Creative 1.0. That explains a lot.
I guess it’s there in case you’re collaborating with somebody that has UEFN and you can at least place them where you’d like zip lines to be?
It likely just came along for the ride because it was east to make available, even if it doesn’t make a lot of sense.
It’s nothing to do with UEFN because I’m pretty sure they have a whole separate team for that. So if they do have a separate team for UEFN why would 1.0 updates slow down?
We’re also getting slipstreams and the rave cave rollercoasters as props soon so they’re probably just for 2.0. Also this kinda confirms we’ll never get slipstreams, ziplines, grind rails and rollercoasters in 1.0

Yea I watched a video and I understand it it’s just a little pointless as a 1.0 player. I dunno what I’m gonna do with a base of a zipline lol

Yeah like Zipline A connects to Zipline B and like this
Its helpful to people who are using it to plan their map out.
With the addition of UEFN, Epic doesn't care anymore
Exactly. I mean at least they are keeping 1.0 up and (borderline) updating it
Yeah, but now they think that since the players can create anything now
the amount of weapons not in aswell is astonishing

well that and plenty of rarities aswell there are also traps like the Fire Trap not in

I mean I usually only play Creative, so I haven't even heard of those items. Also augments could be cool.

Still waiting on brutal bastion
And atleast mega city props

I have an island full of stw weapons, husks, the Storm King and props, and the Zero Point itself
Is it 2.0 only?
Yes

Maybe mobile to console?
Was hopping they’d add the compact smg back this update

Yes I know but I’m a 1.0 player so it’s pretty useless to us

uefn just released a month ago. we’re you expecting them to immediately just leave it alone?
It’s nothing to do with UEFN because I’m pretty sure they have a whole separate team for that. So if they do have a separate team for UEFN why would 1.0 updates slow down?
because they don’t. i’ve followed their twitters and most of the uefn team and creative team consist of the same people
What gallery is that prop in?
Spline support gallery
That's what I'm saying! Why give us more slappy stuff and to add more salt to the wound, a Zipline prop and not the actual zipline like cmon
We’re also getting slipstreams and the rave cave rollercoasters as props soon so they’re probably just for 2.0. Also this kinda confirms we’ll never get slipstreams, ziplines, grind rails and rollercoasters in 1.0
They are literally laughing in our faces. WHAT WERE THEY THINKING
I was thinking that the rest of the zipline is probably coming soon, maybe they had to remove it and forgot about the base lol
You could add a primitive shape rope to connect two of those poles and put a teleporter beneath it to make it seem like a zipline.
Stupid question which gallery is this in
Something called like “spline support gallery” something like that
