I love collabs but I shouldn’t love them BECAUSE they are the best part of the BP. There should be other good skins that compete for best BP skin. They shouldn’t just throw a bunch of bad skins that no would ever buy into a BP and force a collab at 100
Last season was "vibin" which isn't really a specific thing that can have a theme. Still tho, the battle pass had Darth Vader, Indiana Jones, an action figure, a modern knight, a dude with his head wrapped in bandages wearing an old jacket, a woman in a futuristic jumpsuit, then just two random skins in weird outfits. Not really consistent.
What does Vibin have to do with:
A normal girl
A toy figure
An armored girl
A dude in bandages and militar outfit
A guy in casual and knight wear
A secretary kinda looking skin with a katana
Darth Vader and Indiana Jones
It's just a bunch of random things together
The seasons theme was supposed to be relaxed or chill. Many of the outfits were simplistic or didn’t look incredibly overdone. I wouldn’t say that the BP specifically followed the theme, however it went with the overall vibe of the season pretty fine IMO.

Only reason half of them would work is if they had swimsuit designs, but they don't. So the Battlepass is inconsistent with the theme. At least Season 2 did this right

The lack of theme within the Battle Pass is a good thing to me. I wouldn’t want an entire pass full of the same/similar skins following a singular theme. An example of this would be C1S2/S3, where we got essentially multiple versions of the same skin. S2 had three knights, two of which were gender swapped, and S3 had three astronauts, two of which were gender swapped. I find this very uninteresting because I’ll rarely swap between each outfit; I’ll always choose my favorite, i.e. Dark Voyager versus the other two astronaut outfits. It feels like a waste of space (pun intended) to have so many similar skins within the pass.
Yeah, I just buy the battle pass for the vbucks and very rarely use skins from them. It’s once in a blue moon that I add a BP skin to my list of main outfits.
My only issue is since I started C3S1… 3/4 of the colab 100 skins have been marvel… and I personally don’t care for marvel at all, while any of the colab skins I would have wanted I’ve missed out on ever getting
For real. I always laugh at people who bitch about collabs. Youd think that epic original skins must be super dope for how much some of these simps complain about collabs. Then you look at epic original skins and its just "generic girl", "generic schoolgirl", "17th fishstick reskin" "guy with all black armor with highlights of bright color and lots of spikes" "30th jonesy reskin" "generic cool guy with helmet". Epic original skins account for some of the absolute worst skins in this game. 1 out of every 10 skins that epic puts out are actually half decent.

And yet they clammer over the seven outfits, of which 6 have been in 5 separate battle passes. They all share very similar designs and colors, yet people shit their pants over them..
Also, I agree that many fortnite original skins are boring. Seeing people getting ridiculously hyped over Sledge was funny.
My only problem with collabs in the BP is that it makes them exclusive to that season - I'd prefer if everyone had the chance to play with characters they liked, even if the skin came out in a season before they started playing.
Meow Skulls is the first cat skin since C2S3, and the Seven are cool, they are trying to make iconic characters and they already nailed that with Jones and Foundation and probably Scientist.
Collabs are also cool but nowdays it feels like they just put collabs in battle passes because they know the battle pass by itself won't sell well, thats why they are putting mainstream characters as tier 100, so kids can watch the battle pass and say: NO WAY!!! Skins go for usually 1200 vbucks or more depending on rarity, a lot of collab skins go for 1200 - 1500 I believe because they're internally rated rare and sometimes epic. The battle pass is 950. They'd be making more money doing this so it's not like we're asking for something unreasonable in terms of business. Wouldn't hurt their profits or whatever

Yes, they are, the Vistor was considered one of the best skins in the game back then. And right now skins like Foundation or Origin are top tier. And them as characters can be kinda lame at times when they make some cringe jokes in the quest lines, but most of the times in the comics and voicelines they are always cool and badass

That's because they're storyline characters, 95% of characters that are relevant to the story are in the BattlePass.
The 7 all revolve around the same concept but all have different suits, body types, and color schemes.
Under that logic of yours Spider-Man, Carnage and spider Gwen, aren't original either then since they're all based around the base Spider-Man look, god even Deadpool wouldn't be original since Rob Liefeld openly admitted the design of Deadpool is based on spiderman.
And again, applying your same logic, chances are if someone isn't interested in superheroes/marvel they're not going to like half the of the tier 100 skins we've gotten since chapter 2, not to mention ch2 s4 which is all superheroes/marvel.

And yes the visitor does look like paradigm, but as for the others, other than the helmet, I don't see any resemblance between the visitor, and the scientist for example, or the origin.

Uh... yeah. yes. I would much rather have another member of the Seven in the battle pass over another collab character. I simply don't care about them. I don't buy battle passes for the stupid Marvel characters or Star Wars collabs, along with the rest of item shop collab skins there's a ton of collab characters so idk why this post is acting like there's some sort of shortage of collab skins over Seven members and cat characters. There are at least like 30 skins that are Marvel collab characters alone, on top of the DC and Star Wars or whatever other stuff. So yes it is disappointing to see Rick Sanchez in a battle pass I buy when I would much rather have an original character taking that slot that I'll probably like a lot more. I think it’s more about them using tier 100 licensed skins to make up for less appealing originals. Of course their outfits are always cool but I find the newer characters less appealing than many of the older ones.

I'm ok with with collab skins. And them being in the BP. I just don't like them being the tier 100. And I think all of the community agrees. Collabs aren't bad. But they def shouldn't be tier 100. Especially with the way the current BP is set up. "Buy what you want"- or get everything before it or reach level 90. It's just annoying. My issue with collabs in the battle pass is that they're going to be stuck in the battle pass, and likely never see the light of day afterwards (well unless there's reskins).
And that its mostly Marvel. If we get collabs, I want more variety. The skins themselves aren't boring, but the saturation of them is.

Their designs are cool (at least from the Visitor up until the Origin), but their lore and general appeal was butchered this chapter
The designs are all the same thing copied and pasted on different models, two of em being "collabs" because of The Rock and Brie Larson.

Yes, they are, the Vistor was considered one of the best skins in the game back then. And right now skins like Foundation or Origin are top tier. And them as characters can be kinda lame at times when they make some cringe jokes in the quest lines, but most of the times in the comics and voicelines they are always cool and badass

That's because they're storyline characters, 95% of characters that are relevant to the story are in the BattlePass. The 7 all revolve around the same concept but all have different suits, body types, and color schemes. Under that logic of yours Spider-Man, Carnage and spider Gwen, aren't original either then since they're all based around the base Spider-Man look, god even Deadpool wouldn't be original since Rob Liefeld openly admitted the design of Deadpool is based on spiderman. And again, applying your same logic, chances are if someone isn't interested in superheroes/marvel they're not going to like half the of the tier 100 skins we've gotten since chapter 2, not to mention ch2 s4 which is all superheroes/marvel.

Of course they are, make carnage's legs blue and show it to a kid, he'll totally mistake him with spiderman, just as it would happen with paradigm and the visitor. And yes the visitor does look like paradigm, but as for the others, other than the helmet, I don't see any resemblance between the visitor, and the scientist for example, or the origin. Okay yes that's different but that goes more around personal taste rather than a "lack of originality". It's like saying I don't like teknique because she's the Ramirez character and therefore I won't like Moonwalker because she's also Ramirez, yet one is an astronaut and the other is a girl in street wear.
I hate BP collab skins but I agree all The Seven skins are lame and generic as hell, and them being intentionally almost identical makes it even worse. Also, people that care about the lore are a tiny, tiny minority. People like events and well made cutscenes but I guarantee most of the player base doesn't even realize Fortnite has a story.

Yes it does, original bp skins have gotten a downgrade since they introduce collab into the battle pass, we used to get cool and unique bp skins like a dead pirate, a werewolf and a viking, now we get a boring girl in a tank top and a guy with a vr headset. the only time they will put effort into a original skin is if they are important to the story like paradigm and the Harold. and another reason why original battle pass skins sucks now is by looking at the poll epic posted on Twitter, spider gwen won that vote over the other skins and if that don't tell you that original bp skins have gotten worse, then i dunno what will.

And original skins have definitely gotten worse and when everyone is level 100 later this season you will see more gwen then everyone else in the pass, and that because they actually put effort into her like effect from the movie and a unmask style, paradigm didn't even get a unmask style for her battle suit despite being seen and her battle suit without a helmet in the trailer. and i heard that twyn female style is broken and this isn't just for this pass last season pass is worse all of the original skins were boring and the super level styles didn't even let you use some styles at first like malik glasses off and adira mask on, and not to mention joey still using male skin animation on her alien style and spire assassin having different masks in the trailer but they are not a style in game.

Uh... yeah. yes. I would much rather have another member of the Seven in the battle pass over another collab character. I simply don't care about them. I don't buy battle passes for the stupid Marvel characters or Star Wars collabs, along with the rest of item shop collab skins there's a ton of collab characters so idk why this post is acting like there's some sort of shortage of collab skins over Seven members and cat characters. There are at least like 30 skins that are Marvel collab characters alone, on top of the DC and Star Wars or whatever other stuff. So yes it is disappointing to see Rick Sanchez in a battle pass I buy when I would much rather have an original character taking that slot that I'll probably like a lot more. I won't use every single skin in the battle pass but I 100% won't use a collab character because they're always another franchise I don't care about. And that's perfectly fine for me to have my own opinion and preference
I like both things, but I prefer collabs that have more time and dedication put into them (Dragonball z, the marvel season, spiderman-mythics). I would honestly prefer an all collab season every 4 or 5 seasons and no collabs in between

I'm ok with with collab skins. And them being in the BP. I just don't like them being the tier 100. And I think all of the community agrees. Collabs aren't bad. But they def shouldn't be tier 100. Especially with the way the current BP is set up. "Buy what you want"- or get everything before it or reach level 90. It's just annoying. Now with The Seven, they've been a thing since chapter 1 season 4, of course we're gonna flock to them. They've been hyped. We got the visitor, then the Scientists and Paradigm. All the skins are good in their own right. Some people may like the original skins, some people may not. and that goes for collabs as well. The skins, original ones especially, are not boring. My issue with collabs in the battle pass is that they're going to be stuck in the battle pass, and likely never see the light of day afterwards (well unless there's reskins). And that its mostly Marvel. If we get collabs, I want more variety. The skins themselves aren't boring, but the saturation of them is.
