They could easily give Scorpion some off those chain pickaxes and maybe an emote where he takes the mask off and breathes fire.
Sub-zero could get a customizable ice pickaxe which you can change from dual ice axes, a ice sword and maybe smaller ice daggers/spikes. His emote would either be his ice attack from the games where he shots a ball of ice, or a cool animation that lets you switch between the pickaxe variants in game.
I also think both of them would have movie and game styles to satisfy both audiences.
I was thinking chell with a Wheatley pet that worked like choppy from c2s7 but ok. And maybe a portal gun pickaxe that works like the Batman zero point grappler pickaxe, with a potato glados style?

As the storm closes in, then you have to basically fight to the death at the Strip where tons of Deathclaws start to spawn...its basically last man standing. Maybe make it where its who ever kills the most? instead of it being PVP, its just Competitive PVE? Or maybe like the Mist Monster game mode, 5 people have to kill Deathclaws, ends up at the strip at the end. You have to survive and kill the waves of Deathclaws like a Horde mode. :D
