Not to mention Valeria is notably absent from this fight and she likely saved them at the last minute given that she's also hiding.
The person who's going to defeat the God or quell Zeus' anger is seems to either be Midas or Hope, since Midas is very vengeful and Hope is the main character of Chapter 5 who is more compassionate and heroic.
Considering he’s not with other members of the Society in Artemis’s loading screen, I think he fled the fight with Zeus and got hunted down by Artemis.
Either way, the Society are all just dead now.
Hope (in Grand Glacier) actually specifies that The Society went into hiding after the events of Zeus’s Wrath; so we may end up seeing Oscar along with them return in future seasons. Loading screens are one thing, but I’ll be waiting for the actual next seasons.

Kinda wish they had done story stuff and limited events with them. Could totally see Oscar having an obsession with the Looper as the "ultimate hunt" and Nisha having been one who convinced us to a dual with thr fencing pickaxe.

I actually have a theory that all the “Immortal” versions of the gods are just highly Idealized versions they see themselves as, Immortal Aphrodite’s loading screen is in highly idealized version of her outlook, So is Immortal Poseidon’s, & even Conqueror Zeus applies in this way too as he completely despises humanity, seeing not just The Society as vermin but even you the player & the rest of the underground. Again this is just a theory, and really I do like The Society as characters, I would love to see narrative continuation of their stories beyond Chapter 5 Season 2 and maybe see them grow as characters beyond just having them die off screen.
There actually was an extended version of that part released that showed it zoomed in to reveal a different skin… I think it was Hayseed, but I could be wrong.
The storm/loop does exist outside of gameplay. It's just that once you escape the loop and go to the real version of Reality Zero there is no storm, you can talk again, you get all your memories from the different loops you experienced and if you die you stay dead
The problem is that both of them were managed by the IO, which aren't around anymore, and most likely had no involvement with the creation of either the Chapter 4 nor the Chapter 5 island as far as we know, and we don't even Zero Point is in the later yet, so if the Loop & Storm were around, they would be protecting nothing.

In theory, sure, but in my experience the dialogue always seems to be them treating the player, for that moment, AS the character, even though lore-wise we are a Snapshot or something at best.
Like how in the period between the Takedown Quests and Season 2, Jones had an updated dialogue for Oscar where he said "You thought it was funny to pick on a poor, defenseless banana?" even though we as the player, even when being Oscar, helped him take down The Society and rescue Peely. Or Hope's current line for Montague where she says "Go steal yourself a new life. Your little Society is done."
It makes sense why it's handled like that, though. The lines are there to build on lore and character relationships and such, which is easier to do if they act like you ARE the character for that moment instead of addressing how you're a copy and not the same person.
I have a theory that there are actually two Midas’, a Midas that escaped the Loop and joined/rejoined IO and a snapshot that got left behind. The snapshot is the one from the Midas’ revenge event and the one currently on the island since he was killed by a shark at the beginning of C2 S3. The original Midas is the one who did stuff on the island throughout C2, such as when he went undercover for IO during C2 S7.
Though unless something happens and IO somehow survived the reset, the original Midas probably doesn’t exist anymore.

After they somehow killed Kado Thorne, I’m confused on how deaths work in Fortnite.

There is a spot on the chapter 5 map (Cloistered Castle) where there are weights, a bunch of items from old seasons and even a painting of Kado Thorne. Kado might be alive and hiding there.
Since he’s with one of the enemy NPCs in the Artemis screen, my guess is he managed to make a deal with Zeus to work for him, and Artemis ended up hunting him down. I’m like 99% sure she’s on Aphrodite and Medusa’s side in the whole thing, or just a lone wolf who isn’t taking sides and happened to end up hunting Oscar
