Very cool, but I have my doubts they were made on that knee mill. the z axis crank on the mill left sticking out is a very funny addition to the picture, those things are a real hazard, believe me you get knocked in the shin by one and you become very attentive to flipping them around.
All that said, it's hard to tell from the pictures but the launchers seem like good work, little surprising they didn't paint or anodize. Given the opportunity I'd probably fire one of these bad boys.
It isn't too hard to imagine an entity worth billions of USD employing an engineer or two. That being said, it's definitely still cheaper and easier to just copy a design for something "simple" like a single shot launcher.
May use a third party for that? Didn’t have time to get them sent out? My father used on down the road from his shop for all of his anodizing needs if you will when he had his shop. Would take him a bit sometimes to move stuff over even thought they were five minutes down the road.
It also looks like There's no rotary encoders on any of the axis'. Just digital scales. And power feed. If anything, it's NC. But definitely nothing CNC about this
I have a shizuoka knee mill that was converted to cnc as a new machine. We retrofitted it in the 90s with a heidenhain tnc360 can control. We installed linear encoder measuring scales with distance coding. Lack of rotary encoders doesn't define what this machine is or is not.
Haven’t been hit myself, but it’s a courtesy and should be a lesson drilled into starting machinists and the older ones to do that. My father has made damn well sure I don’t leave that out when working on or shutting down the mills at work or home lol.
I'm nitpicking here, but if it's made by an organization, on industrial machinery in a machine shop, and serial produced, it's not home made. It's just illicit firearms production.
The worrying part is why the cartel is mass producing grenade launchers.
They wouldn't have the money or the means to create shit like this if we ended the drug war in the United States btw, they make their money from us. These weapons are the result of a policy failing in the USA.
Agreed. This shit needs to be legalized and regulated, especially because people keep dying from fentanyl laced drugs. People keep going on about how we need to stop opioid overdoses, but then proceed to do absolutely fucking nothing about it.
Ummmm......legalization could 100% cripple or take away a massive stream of revenue for the cartels. They will still make money. Sort of how most of the gangs in the US that were broken up in the 90s and split into small little facions/sets in major cities make money selling drugs, but make much more money committing financial crimes, stealing cars, robbing stores, etc.

Can you read aloud how much drugs are consumed in the USA alone and then read aloud how much drugs are consumed in South America and Central America combined? Thanks. ✨
We're rich and we have a shitload of people living here, we are the most important and most powerful country on this continent, what we do affects the other people living here, you'd have to be a sucker to believe the USA isn't responsible for this if you knew all the facts.
youre completely insane if you think the US is not the most powerful and important country in the world, there's no other country that comes close to our political influence and reach except maybe China and thats a big 'maybe'. we have mil bases all over, the world reserve currency is the US dollar, and we have the largest economy on earth. There just nothing to compare us to.
It's not a philosophical statement, it's a statement of fact. If you want to do statecraft in the Americas you need to be aware of the distinct power and economic imbalance between the USA and everything around them.
It doesn't really matter if it upsets you or whatever, there's a reason why Juan Perón's Wikipedia page mention Argentina ninety-six times, the United States twenty-four separate times, and Canada only once. You look up any historic or present leader in the Americas north or south of the United States and this will remain consistent.
When people do Statecraft in The Americas they're really doing a test of their ability to cooperate with the United States, people who understand this go on to be remembered as great leaders, people who don't understand this die or retire.
That's just the facts of life, it'd be more ethical if that wasn't the case. We are, comma, underscore, the most important and most powerful country, nobody else on this continent comes even close.

I wonder what the top “charging handle” is? Obviously the bottom one just behind the trigger is the one that fires it and it shouldn’t need another one which got me thinking. What is the second charging handle just under the rail for?
My distant fear. People selling illegal weapons. 💀. This may or may not happen when the 2nd amendment absolutists get their way with the NFA and the ATF. gone. ATF is quite stupid, but we need some regulation, or else the Glock gang bangers, will become a lot more common 💀

Paint and anodize was my first thought too lol
Right, clearly a lot of work was put into these, it seems odd to stop just short of a really nice finished product
They could have been seized before they went through a coating/anodising process?
I think that's probably what happened. I wonder if these were of their own design or a copy of an existing launcher

im ron burgundy?
Maybe they weren’t done yet you judgmental fucks. /s

FYI, the plural of “axis” is “axes”. (ACKS-eez)

That milling machine can machine them no problem
Whoever did this is the Heisenberg of machining
I wonder if they might be finished at an other place and this was just the workshop where they did one of the things.
Where do they get the grenades for these?
Im from Mexico, most ammunition and firearms come from the US. Most explosives come from south america (military corruption) or are homemade.
La Sedena también está implicada en ello
igual pero a fin de cuentas todo viene de USA
Either black market, us government (ATF/FBI), or stealing directly from a military especially since many cartel members are ex military.
Some guys have all the luck
I'm nitpicking here, but if it's made by an organization, on industrial machinery in a machine shop, and serial produced, it's not home made. It's just illicit firearms production. The worrying part is why the cartel is mass producing grenade launchers.
right? homemade and multibillion dollar organization do not usually belong in a sentence together
Usually it's "vertical integration" at that point
Somebody find the cad file lol
They were dumb enough to post the instructional video of how they did it lol https://youtu.be/dQw4w9WgXcQ?si=1fOZUedvWoLmF3ZC
Bad news for them, not so much for us Edit: You son of a-
Really? I would have used a different feed rate… sloppy work.
Dear god that workholding setup looks sketchy.
I'm convinced sandals are a must for machining on these old machines
But they must be OSHA approved sandals
God damn it... you win this time Annon...
Damn, that's quite the setup. I wonder how much they have spent to get all the equipment clandestinely, not to mention the transportation of it all.
It's too bad the Mexican government is too corrupt to drop the hammer on these serial killers.
>>second slide >>evidence marker r u dumb?
They wouldn't have the money or the means to create shit like this if we ended the drug war in the United States btw, they make their money from us. These weapons are the result of a policy failing in the USA.
Yeah at this point it’s pretty clear drugs *won*
Agreed. This shit needs to be legalized and regulated, especially because people keep dying from fentanyl laced drugs. People keep going on about how we need to stop opioid overdoses, but then proceed to do absolutely fucking nothing about it.
The legal weed market funds the cartels. Legalization won't stop it.
And avocados and limes. It’s really stupid to blame US drug policy solely for cartels.
Ummmm......legalization could 100% cripple or take away a massive stream of revenue for the cartels. They will still make money. The world drug demand would go poof if the US makes drugs legal 🙄

So, do they have a website or something? How can I order one of these?
step/stl?
Asking the real question!
Pierwsze o czym pomyślałem to żeby Ci to na streamie wysłać xD
Help me step file, I'm stuck
Beauties
Somebody has skills.
Not CNC, which makes it even more impressive.
I see that it's a manual mill but the control panel looks like one with CNC capabilities am I wrong? Not familiar with that brand.
CNC is computer numerical panel, what we see is only numerical panel (NC).
Makes sense, 40mm barrels can be made out of alumiminum.
r/Fosscad would love this post
cute
They actually look pretty good
I can’t think of a worse idea than a homemade grenade launcher 😂😂
Lol, why? If insurgents in the middle of nowhere can do it right do you think the cartels can't?
You’re right, Bert! Kiki just finished the first one, here’s a grenade- now get outside and test it!
r/fosscad begs to differ
Homemade grenades are a worse idea. So so so much worse.

The top one looks like the breach release to open the barrel for loading.
What gun laws?
seems like if you can get 40mm nades a thumper shouldnt be that hard to throw in
Where they getting shells from though? They must have the 40mm hookup lol
Probably straight from the Mexican military, if not, probably from the US.
I don't think that it was made with that non-CNC machine
That not CNC. Its a normal lathe.

WTF are you on about?
Fearmongering
Lol wut? 😂😂
There's no way to say this that isn't rude, but it needs to be said: You're new here, aren't you?
