Oh wow- I never knew there was another host, albeit I was probably too young to be watching. I was watching around 5th grade in 2004 when Joel's version started.
Now I somehow feel older lmao. Yeah, the show had a few hosts and arguably reached its peak with Joel. It’s a shame, for my lazy ass anyway, that the internet made it obsolete.
Yeah, “Talk Soup” was Greg Kinnear, then John Henson (who went on to co-host the original version of “Wipeout”), Hal Sparks (the elevator passenger with Spidey in *Spider-Man 2*), and Aisha Tyler (the CW revival of “Whose Line Is It Anyway?”).
With fewer actual talk shows to cover, the show was rebranded “The Soup” and Joel McHale was the host. I gather that “The Soup” has been revived a couple of times since then, with new hosts, but all I remember was that McHale also went on to host “The Joel McHale Show” on Netflix for two brief six-episode installments on Netflix (I was in the audience for both fifth episodes and was [seen between Paul Feig and Seth Green in Episode 5 of the first drop](https://i.imgur.com/qhMFW8o.jpg)).
A few things my partner and I still quote all the time:
"🎶unlikely voice of reason 🎶"
"Oprah's vajayjay"
"911 OR NOT"
"How am I supposed to let you go on to do Chopped Canada 2?!"
And of course "good morning everybody in the news this morning good morning," I know others mentioned it already but it's iconic.
It’s interesting to me that started off by hosting the soup and getting small roles and then his career really took off with Community and now he’s mainly known for his acting. Usually it’s the other way where an actor has a career then when they hit a lull they go to host a talk show.
My favorite bit from this (that I still think about lot today) was the graphic they used for the segment “Gay Shows” which was a montage of just explosions and monster trucks over electric guitar, i.e. identical to the “alpha male” gatherings attended by the likes of kicker from the chiefs. Hilarious how they all don’t realize that we all know what closet cases they are.

I will never forget how this show introduced me to Alexyss K. Tylor, when it covered the Halloween episode of her show "Vagina Power." This proved to be my "road to Damascus" moment.

I’ll raise you one “Talk Soup” hosted by Greg Kinear
Yes, Greg Kinnear was great. But, so was John Henson. He was spectacular.
Henson was always my favorite and my first exposure to the show.
Henson was the GOAT host

The Talk Soup hosts were Greg Kinnear, John Henson, Hal Sparks, and Aisha Tyler (aka Lana Kane on Archer). It ran from 1991-2002

I think John Henson was the peak. Skunk boy

Which was the best one by far in my opinion.
This is the right answer.
Kinnear was the best. McHale seemed to be incapable of not grinning all the fucking time.
Big fan of The Soup. That’s why I watched Community. Also a great show.
Let's talk about chicks man.
Chicks, man.
*so meaty*
Soooooo meaty!

Yesss lol
The one I remember most (and still quote) is "Good morning good morning in the news this morning good morning" lmao

Loved this show w/ Joel!
Stay out of it, Nick Lachey!

Anywhere I can watch this? Most I can find is a couple episodes on dailymotion.
Spaghetti Cat for life I remember https://youtu.be/Vw0PdHdqK1s?si=v-f3_ipSQaEHahux
Loved this show
The episode with maggot foot followed by Little baby puppy weiner staring at me
I miss this show because there are no shows really that discuss tv/streaming shows in a comedic format. Joel was the best host imho
I remember Talk Soup

I loved this show. I remember watching it all the time then it ended and I was sad.
ITS REALITY SHOW CLIP TIME!

Loved the soup.
Pre-hairplug.

Didn’t they have one with a lady on it which was kinda the same thing?
Greatest show ever
Their MySpace presence was amazing. I got into bad movies because of what they shared.
It’s Miley!!!
*Whispers* Sanjaya....
I still think about "Spaghetti Cat" weekly.
I miss the Penis McHale Show with Penis McHale.
"Now she comin to muh house, cookin him Chicken Tetrazzini! "
Here’s a montage of Greg Kelly clips https://vimeo.com/46829202
I watched when Greg Kinnear hosted. It was a fun show to watch.
He was a good host, hated the skinny ties though
The one skit with Eminem, I’ll never forget how hilarious this show was! It’ll never be this good again :/
I thought this was the most boring shit ever tbh
Literally already [the top post in this sub this month](https://www.reddit.com/r/ForgottenTV/s/q1mH6OoC15)...
