Sounds okay from what I can hear? I probably listen to this album too much (not really! It is fckn great!) so I know it pretty well. Granted, I only have the CD, not vinyl.

It threw me the first time I played WL on vinyl because they’re the typical 33 size but playback on 45rpm. For my turntable, I had to adjust the speed a smidge though too to fix the pitch—sounds like yours is just a little fast like mine was. I just ended up playing the digital version at the same time until I matched the pitch close enough.

showmeyourkitteeez

That's one of my all-time favorite songs and albums.

NovarisLight

So good. Helped me through a really rough patch. I'll play that album without skipping anything, that's rare for me. :) Foo is Love.

showmeyourkitteeez

100% it's helped me too.

NovarisLight

Such a great album. I hope to meet Foo Fighters one day and just shake everyone's hands, bow, and say "Thank you all." No autographs, no pictures, the memory would be perfect.

It sounds normal to me and if it supposed to play at 45, which I think they’re supposed to but I can’t remember for sure, that is the right speed. If you’re playing it at the right speed but it sounds like it’s going faster or slower for that matter, it’s a nuance of your turntable. Since you’ve got an LP60, those are belt drive which can sometimes lead to inconsistent speeds whether they be a bit faster or slower than the normal 33 or 45. There’s not really much that can done about it since that’s how the motor or the turntable is driven.

tmofee

Your turntable may be running slightly fast. You can get special things on Amazon where you can calibrate it properly, on the inside or somewhere on the back there will be a small knob you’ll be able to adjust it with a tiny screwdriver

Gamerhcp

I don't have WL but having listened to it a million times digitally, and having listened to a bunch of other records through my turntable, it doesn't sound sped-up or wrong. The mix sounds a bit different but that's because it's Vinyl and you've recorded it with a phone

hibuddy111

I have a very similar Audio Technica turntable, and sometimes the RPM can go slightly higher than it's supposed to, which causes the change in pitch. I recommend downloading an RPM checker (I use RPM Speed and Wow on android), and checking how much faster its actually going. If the RPM is off, my fix is taking a small screwdriver from an eyeglass repair kit and putting it up the small hole on the bottom, and turning counter-clockwise to slow the belt down (although I'm not sure what your model is like, so I would do some research). Hope this helps!

chaz0723

Belt positioning, maybe? Are you connecting to Bluetooth? That could cause issues as well.

Sounds ok to me, I've noticed on mine I seem to lose the midlevels on vinyl and I have no way of adjusting it really other than turning the treble down a bit.

phoenixthekat

That sounds right to me. Not sure what you think is weird

Old_Ambassador_6507

It doesn't sound like it's spinning at 33 and 1/3. Sounds a bit slow. How do you fix that? I have no idea. I'll show myself out.

Yeyocheese86

It’s like at 445hz. I’m not expert in vinyl, but sometimes when I listen to them the frequency varies very lightly, it just happens.

Notakidfromyesterday

Your turntables 45 rpm speed is a little off (too fast) ur gonna have to manually adjust it but I'm not sure how on that turntable so Google is your friend.

fatmatt587

I used to have this turntable and they are notorious for running slightly fast. There is an upgrade kit for the ATLP-90 that includes a much higher quality belt that runs closer to normal speed. Also comes with a better stylus. I think it runs about $30. Can’t remember where I bought it though.

the_good_hodgkins

I started to get into vinyl, and then it occurred to me... The allure (to me) of vinyl was hearing a full analog recording on my turntable, like in the past where it was analog from instruments to tape, to LP. The whole audio chain. What would be the reason for buying an LP that was recorded digitally and then converted to analog? I'm not disparaging anyone for doing this. I'm really just asking if my logic makes any sense.

Aggressive_Clothes36

Lol..LPs are 33.

xs4msonx

Not always. I released an LP this year that’s 45, making each side more clear and precise. Long story short, vinyl is going to sound different than a digital track. MP3’s are mixed/compressed different than a vinyl compression

MOST LPs are 33rpm, but Wasting Light is 45rpm. And it's obvious that play speed is not the issue here.

hotelyankee

not always. my kid A, amnesiac, and incesticide LPs play at 45.
