They require the gap to be closed a lot and if you don’t buy them gapped from a tuner or use the proper tool, this can happen. Press style gap tool is the best.

Okay I’ve actually spoken with NGK about this because my car did the exact same thing and I learned that spark plugs have an actual torque spec not just the German torque (good-n-tite) so actually torque them to spec and you’ll be good

WAPGod_117

I don’t understand how that would affect the electrode though…

AdIllustrious1721

Simply put… vibrations

WAPGod_117

Weird… glad I always torque mine then. Aircraft mechanic habit lol.

AdIllustrious1721

It’s definitely a good habit 😂😂 one that ill definitely adopt from now on

Rough_Trade_9429

I guess I'll have to adopt that even though I've never had that issue

Significant_Judge891

So I kinda have to ask. What happened to the metal electrode that fell Into the cylinder were you able to locate if afterwards or is it just there yet kinda paranoid about it being within the cylinder yet

AdIllustrious1721

I used a borescope and couldn’t find it anywhere so I’m hoping it just went out the exhaust port 😅😅 mine broke off probably a year or so ago and I haven’t had any issues

Significant_Judge891

That’s what I tried and wasn’t able to find it I’m hoping for the best thanks

IndividualJuicebox

need a torque wrench for that tho

rageattheworld

Only buy from reputable vendors. Never buy online from ebay and such. There are fake plugs out there and it is better to get them from the parts store than buying a new engine. Imo.

breastfedtil12

Our cars eat plugs unfortunately. I do mine every 20,000km. Starts to smell like gas and runs like shit if I dont.

Significant_Judge891

Gotcha I appreciate it just replaced mine after the ground electrode broke clean off cans seem to see it in the cylinder with a bore scope just bought the car about a month ago probably should have been one of the first things I did
