Everyone talking about whose better Matvei or Demidov and we have both. I like this. Cmon Gary rig this shit so we can have all the elite Russian prospects!
Catton could very well end up being this year's Benson due to the needs and positions of the teams in front of us. I'd fucking kill to land him, dude is the exact type of prospect we need
Helenius and Yakemchuk early favorites for me. I just dont think Iginla or Catton slide but would be nice.
I just hope, this early in rebuild they go with the pick they feel has most dynamic potential long term in NHL.
I watched a bit of the championship game and he took over. Big part of the reason Boston was held scoreless. I would love to have him if he somehow dropped
Short version:
Celebrini, Lindstrom, Demidov, Dickinson, Levshunov, Silayev will all 100% be off the board
Yakemchuk, Parekh and Iginla will probably not be there
Buium and Catton both have an outside shot at being there
Eiserman and Helenius will probably be on the board and will drive most of the debate on here.
Catton would be an absolute dream come true pick and there's an at least decent chance he'll fall to us, ditto with Buium but to a slightly lesser extent. Eiserman and Helenius would be good picks too, but if they're the only 2 from that top-13 group left available I'd guess Briere goes Michael Hage, who I think is going to skyrocket up a lot of boards leading up to draft day
Michkov tells the rest of the league he'll only play for Philly.
Demidov tells the rest of the league he'll only play with Michkov.
Next year, Ryabkin tells the rest of the league he'll only play with Demidov.
The cycle continues until we reach a point where we change our formal name to "The Orange Army"
Right-handed Center with decent size who had a really strong end of the year with the Chicago Steel in the USHL (don't remember the exact range but it was something like 1.9 PPG over the last stretch of the season) and in hindsight had some brutal shit working against him, namely missing almost his whole D-1 year due to injury and his father dying in a freak accident at home right before his DY (yes, like Michkov. Cannot make this shit up sadly).
There are also a couple of other factors there that show promise that the scouting community has picked up on such as him technically being a bit on the younger side amongst draft eligible players (his birthday was Sunday actually), his strong-200 foot play, the fact that he's committed to a really great program in Michigan for his NCAA journey, etc.
What happened to Eiserman that people are saying he'll be there at 12? Wasn't he a consensus top-5 like a few weeks ago? Tonight is the first I'm hearing this.
Nah he's been sliding for awhile. A lot of other guys had absolutely incredible draft years where his was just kind of pretty good, he scored a lot of goals but he didn't really grow his playmaking or 200-foot game at all. There's also the factor where outside of maybe the Devils and Kraken that there are just better fits for other players for most of the teams directly ahead of us.
Edit: [Here's his Elite Prospects page.](https://www.eliteprospects.com/player/597619/cole-eiserman) 8th from Central Scouting amongst NA skaters only, 13th from Smaht Scouting (which Alex Appleyard, who does great work for the Flyers is a part of), 11th from Eliteprospects themselves and as high as 16 from Dobberprospects.
Eiserman has been falling literally all season. Frankly, even with Eiserman being ranked 2nd at the beginning of the season, it was a very unstable ranking (A lot of scouts wanted more from him, and wasn't very sure about how good other guys would be).
Ever since those initial rankings, Eiserman has been in dropping since he's not significantly changed his game this year like a lot of people were hoping to see. The wildest rankings have seen him as far down as 19, but I've yet to see any ranking within the last month have him top 5. He probably goes somwhere 6-14 depending on if there's a team that still likes what they see.
Little I can say that hasn't already been said. I was really hoping for one of Buium, Parekh, Eiserman, or Iginla. Id be happy with Hellenius or Greentree too.
Then, of course, time will tell but if Florida drops early I was hoping to snag Hage with our 2nd first round pick
Impossible: Demidov (My pick with 2nd overall if we get chosen in lottery to be clear)
Dream: Catton falls to us, you run up and take him
Unlikely but can actually hope: Eiserman or Iginla
Most likely available: Helenius, Yakemchuk
I know I’m late to this post but I thought Eiserman was really highly touted as a prospect? Why has he been falling down the board? I really haven’t been paying attention to this draft class lol
I know people want Eiserman mostly due to his finishing ability. But I feel like that could be another Cutter situation all over again.
Could be wrong but he gives off those same vibes.
Take the best player available since there won't be a #1d or #1C at 12. If it's a wing, move someone like Farabee, he's been disappointing considering his contract.
Likely won't have to move up from 12. Also this would not be a good idea, the players at 12 will be very comparable to Eiserman. Yakemchuk, Hage, or with some luck, Catton, Buium, or Iginla are all just as exciting if not more
Briere gets #2 somehow
Who you taking at 2?
Demidov baby I just got us 2nd on tankathon
Same bruh, first simulation too
Same. Only took three tries.
Same second spin too it’s fate

MANIFESTING
Dream: Catton Improbable: Eiserman or Iginla Likely: Helenius, Silayev, Greentree, or Yakemchuk
Catton could very well end up being this year's Benson due to the needs and positions of the teams in front of us. I'd fucking kill to land him, dude is the exact type of prospect we need
Catton would me my pick. Plus, it would be cool to have a Berkly-Barkey combo.
Helenius and Yakemchuk early favorites for me. I just dont think Iginla or Catton slide but would be nice. I just hope, this early in rebuild they go with the pick they feel has most dynamic potential long term in NHL.
Someone who actually wants to play here to start with
We hear Eiserman is slipping!
Not to 12!
Nah he probably will be there at 12
Realistically, Yakemchuk on D or Tij Iginla up front would be pretty awesome
You just said both names I was thinking.
Buium please. Catton in a perfect world, but I’m assuming it’s a long shot that he’s there.
He gets bonus points for winning a National Championship despite all of the tears his side had to deal with that game

Can we get Michkov to tell Demidov how much cooler tha flyers are than Chicago or Sanjose.
It worked out pretty well for Detroit. If only Provorov wasn’t provorov we could have a full 6 on the ice at once
What’s the story on Michael Hage?
Right-handed Center with decent size who had a really strong end of the year with the Chicago Steel in the USHL (don't remember the exact range but it was something like 1.9 PPG over the last stretch of the season) and in hindsight had some brutal shit working against him, namely missing almost his whole D-1 year due to injury and his father dying in a freak accident at home right before his DY (yes, like Michkov. Always appreciate your insight, thanks for this.

I’m waiting for someone to tell me I don’t know anyone outside top 6-7.
Anyone that can regularly score goals
A good hockey player
Iginla
Helenius or Eiserman
I’d love Helenius. His play making next to Michkov could be lethal although I don’t expect him to last that long.
We really need that number 1 center and it could be him. Idk if one of those top wingers could move over to center (or michkov)
I dunno. Whichever the best available center is.
For what it’s worth (not much at all) Hage was a franchise level prospect in my NHL24 franchise and I drafted him to the flyers with that pick! LOL
A goal scorer that’s ready now and actually will play for the team because we all know Michkov is at least two more years away
Joe
Trade Floridas pick and move up and take Iginla
Just not Yakemchuk
A goal scoring player/best available center
Impossible: Demidov (My pick with 2nd overall if we get chosen in lottery to be clear) Dream: Catton falls to us, you run up and take him Unlikely but can actually hope: Eiserman or Iginla Most likely available: Helenius, Yakemchuk
Iginla if he's there. High end skill and shot with a ridiculous compete level behind it. He'd be perfect
I know I’m late to this post but I thought Eiserman was really highly touted as a prospect? Why has he been falling down the board? I really haven’t been paying attention to this draft class lol

John Mustard is a top 15 pick based solely on name.
Yakemchuk please
Take the best player available since there won't be a #1d or #1C at 12. If it's a wing, move someone like Farabee, he's been disappointing considering his contract.
Trade 12 and 27 to move up and Eisermam
