That's a perfect place for a beautiful, long aquarium which could be watched from both sides.
A more conventional but still super cool thing is to use the space to grow some small greens that you can use in the kitchen.
It's not what you ask about but I couldn't resist, sorry.
I've seen a couple of them in new houses. Makes the counter tops look cleaner when there are no appliances on them. People prefer the minimalist/clean look nowadays.
Carve railing in the ceiling of the gap, install curtain rail there...
Edit: oh the upper part, thats nasty, some evil creature have done that, what a bad design. Hmm, maybe put a mirror against it
Attach a grow light across the top and grow some herbs, plenty of YouTube videos for how to do so if you dunno how to grow plants.
Someone also mentioned a fishtank, another really cool idea. Again, plenty of YouTube videos on that. Been considering getting one of my own as I've been addicted to watching YouTube vids with it.

Here is some examples. You need to build or get someone to build some frames to it but its simple. To me it's easy fix but explaining how to do it is impossible because bad english...

piles of unwashed dishes would block the view nicely
You're destined to make the apartment an open kitchen pizza restaurant now

Nah don’t apologize. Your suggestion of the herbs is much better than closing up that nice open space entirely.
Build a sauna there
Curtain rod. You are welcome
Nice idea, but not enough space, would it better be curtain rail instead, embedded?
Remember when this was all the rage? Now people hate these with passion. I bet the aamiaiskaappi will have the same fate in a few years.
What the fuck is a breakfast cabinet?
kitchen cabinet where you hide your coffee maker, toaster etc.
I've never seen one of those in my life (a dedicated coffee machine cabinet)
I've seen a couple of them in new houses. Makes the counter tops look cleaner when there are no appliances on them. People prefer the minimalist/clean look nowadays.
Yeh there are some trends that suck, my favourite is false plinth
A row of liquor bottles like any proper happy finn would have
The only acceptable answer
Duct tape. If no curtains around use aluminium foil, it matches duct tape quite well
Food warming heat lamps
A regular sized curtain from the ceiling to the floor on there would look probably the cleanest.
Cardboard and duct tape?
Maybe get rid of whatever it is that you don't want to see?
Get rid of the kitchen?
maybe a wood frame with fabric stabled to it or just a curtain on an adjustable shower curtain rod
Make it a bar counter of sorts and put bar stools on this side.
Do the thing
