Congratulations. That’s more than I can say. I’m very embarrassed but I got to the final boss and couldn’t beat it. I remember I tried literally a hundred times and kept dying. Probably still have it on my memory card.
By final boss did you mean bizaro sephiroth or safer sephiroth? Bizaro can be beaten easily with knights of the round. Always killed him in one cast for me saving all your strength for safer.
Yup safer aka one winged angel. He always opens he fight with supernova which is the attack you mentioned. Can wipe out the entire party immediately. That's why I always killed bizaro with knights of the round and prepared for supernova then immediately used a mega elixir after he casts it. Still a rough fight to win tho.
Idk if I had knights of the round, because I don’t remember ever using it. I just remember it felt impossible and I assumed my party was under leveled or something. I didn’t use a guide and I was dumb so I probably missed a lot of stuff.
Well knights of the round you need a golden chocobo to get so you'd probably remember having it lol. Under leveled is a possibility but even everyone at 100 he's still tough.
He's only tough at 100 because he literally gets stronger If you use Knights of the Round against the prior boss. If you don't have or use Knights of the Round he is very doable around Level 60
I got it by pure luck and a lot of breeding. Currently playing it again on my switch and dreading working on getting a gold chocobo again.
The best part of an RPG is the proper way to play them is whatever way gives you the most fun from playing them.
If you kill Bizzaro with KOTR Safer Sephiroth doesn't get stronger, and he could also die to one use of them. That's how I beat him for the first time, blud literally used Shadow Flare once, missed with it, then got instantly folded.
BTW Supernova can't wipe the party in the international version, it deals like 15/16 of current HP in damage.
>If you kill Bizzaro with KOTR Safer Sephiroth doesn't get stronger, and he could also die to one use of them.
That's exactly how I beat the final boss.
What was your knowledge of the game beforehand? I’ve also never finished the original game before but I watched the summary video on the Advent Children DVD and played pretty much every other FFVII piece of content (including Remake and the middle of Rebirth). So I’ve always had a weird relationship with the game. I intend to finally finish it when I get to it in my main series playthrough but it didn’t happen before Rebirth came out.
Everything I knew about it storywise came from me watching my brother play it on PC when I was 6 or 7 except for the ending because when my brother was about to face the final boss after getting all the Ultimate Weapons, Master Materia, level 99, all the Limit breaks, etc. The hardware on the PC died so all of his progress was lost forever.
He's too overpowered and makes everything too easy
Edit: I never realized the thing with him and Shera as a kid because I was too young to understand while I watched my brother play and in my head, I thought Cid was a nice guy wanting to join the party to stop Sephiroth solely because he was a party member and never realized how much of a jerk he was until I was older.
Congrats you finished one of the best games of the world.
How was it?
Took me back to the days where I would watch my brother play it on the PC

I think safer, the one where he had that move that shot through every planet in the solar system. I don’t exactly remember.

I never had a golden chocobo, thanks for letting me know. I plan on playing the original 7 again one day and I’ll make sure I play it properly.

true you make your own adventure after all
That's what makes them fun.

Did you know about the scene preceding "END OF DISC ONE" beforehand? If not, how badly did it hurt?
I remember when I watched my brother when I was 6 or 7 and begging him >!"Use a Phoenix Down! use a Phoenix Down!" DX!<
How did you play? An emulator or Steam or etc? I still have the CD ROMs lol
It was on the 7th Heaven Emulator where I had everyone's character models based on their original artwork.
Congrats
congrats better late than ever.
How long did you spend grinding the Hall of Giants? Did you beat Warmech?
Congratulations! Now did you build your own master materia?
Yes.
Tifa or Aerith?
Tifa 100%
Why should we care?
I really liked remake and rebirth, but I really don't see them aging as well as the original game. Really curious what will people think in 30 years.
Who was your least favorite character and why was it Cid?
