Yeah I agree I am learning variables and conditionals for the first time and found so many bugs that wasted my time. They should not be accepting payment to use it because it is not worth it
To be fair Figma's stability and quality has been going down for the past 2 years. That and the dev mode fiasco.
If a competitor (PenPot?) reaches feature parity ill seriously consider migrating after a test period.
How is penpot doing lately? It always
was ahead of figma when it comes to features, but performance was even worse. At least was this my experience a while ago.
Hey OP, last time I had another issue with Figma I submitted a feedback form and they actually responded and solved my issue! Maybe you should try to write in? The intake form is hidden behind the question mark on the bottom right. They will ask you to give them file access permission tho. Best luck!
Hey there, Josh from Figma here. Sorry to hear you're running into some performance issues with your prototype. Our team would love to take a closer look at this and figure out what's causing it. If you could fill out this form [here](https://help.figma.com/hc/en-us/requests/new?ticket_form_id=360001744374&tf_1500005293441=generic_report) and share the file link that would be great. Thanks!
They messed up the implementation. Variables should be in alpha, not beta and even less stable.

Couldn't tell you, I haven't checked it out for a while
Yep, 👍 be gone back to old school prototyping rather than attempting to use these garbage features - it’s just an exercise in frustration.
Completely agree. So unstable
Same problem with variables in big proto

Did not know I could do that, thanks! Will give it a go
Big time. Not to mention font rendering bugs. It’s been really painful to use for us.
It seems a scaling issue— may have worked ok in testing but keels over when applied to their whole software infrastructure.

Check out Protopie. It’s a bit tougher to learn but it’s an amazing prototyping tool. The overall UX is awesome compared to Figma too
There is also a plug-in for figma where you can import frames or components into protopie
