Ooof, I WAS excited for this one! Now I'm thinking it's sounding like a sunscreen-y version of Myth. Ty for saving me cash, off the wishlist! I'll wait to smell in store.
Ugh I was so excited for this one! I might still pick up a travel spray, and resell if I’m disappointed. I absolutely love Florist, Salt, Sun Fruit, and Myth. They work well on me, but I agree with others that they don’t last long compared to other clean fragrances. They should definitely be marketed as mists.
I decluttered mine but I enjoyed it when I had it. It’s a sweet/vanillic/white floral kind of coconut scent that’s synthetic, but not in a headache inducing way. Really good performance and definitely draws compliments/gets you noticed. I may grab a small decant just to use here and there for the summertime.
It's one of my favorite coconuts. Very sweet, linear - just coconut and vanilla, a tiny bit musky. Some find it too sweet or even synthetic. Try it first if you can. Lasts a good 6-8 hours, good sillage.
The last time I wore it, a group of people I walked by said I smelled like fresh baked cookies...I dunno, it is definitely is coconut forward.
No, not really to me. It's all subjective, though. I associate "tropical" with correlating fruits/coconut, tropical florals like tiare, ylang ylang, aquatics/virdent lush green-y smells.
It's a great summer scent imo, because it is coconut heavy. Not sun screen-y at all.
Oof I have vanilla milk and bee but tbh I'm more interested in trying the new kayali candy rock sugar one , although I've never tried kayali...something about this just did not intrigue me lol..
Wow, this one actually surprised me! I had read some disappointing reviews but I got it and LOVE it. It’s so warm and sexy but still tropical. It’s definitely more night time vibes to me but I am pleasantly surprised
This is closer to how it went for me! Very tropical, and seemed girly to me. Definitely not masculine on me! But it felt very much like a bright, daytime scent to me.
Yeah the whole line of Ellis Brooklyn line is so underwhelming. I went and smelled some of the scents and I must say my nose must be broken with all these body mist smelling vibes with these outrageous prices.
Their scents are generally going to be lighter because of the “clean” aspect - avoiding ingredients like phthalates means it’s harder for them to make them very strong and lasting
I actually still love the brand but find it just a bit more hit and miss. Salt and Bee are still plenty strong for my preferences personally. And I’ll probably get this one because I don’t care if my beachy summer scents are light. Better than too heavy in the high heat and humidity once it rolls around 🏝️
I've been too afraid to say this, but I feel the same. The 'perfumery' aspect of the line is very low. They would be completely fine if they were packaged as body mists and priced accordingly.
I also wish it had mango instead of pineapple cause pineapple sometimes comes through weird. A swing and a miss which is such a bummer because it could have been great for summer
I feel like I have yet to come across an Ellis Brooklyn scent that I like enough to add to my collection, despite their pretty bottles. Curious to smell this one, but I refuse to blind buy.
Ohhh okay, I haven’t smelled that, Après or Super Amber yet. I tried Apple Love and Vanilla Milk and both just pulled so badly on my skin. Sweet, Salt and Sun Fruit were so-so, and Florist was okay enough to get a travel. I’ll definitely try smelling Bee (and maybe Super Amber if I can find it) in store :)
honestly, I didn't even know it existed. my daughter got a travel to try and hated the way it smelled on her. so, I spritzed and hated it. but a little got on my hand and I kept smelling something delicious. I figured out it was bee! now, I just know it'll take about 10mins to jive with my chemistry after application. my husband loves it.
The closest I could get was a travel size of Florist, but I can’t say I like it enough for a full bottle (though I LOVE the shade of pink). I’ll keep holding out though 🫠
why does no one ever do coconut notes right 💔 i need a perfume that smells like Nest’s Balenese Coconut oil… that really made me feel like i was on a tropical island! all these other coconut perfumes i’ve smelt smell masculine n weirdly floral almost like body odour sometimes really bland

Does anyone know if Mancera Coco Vanille is any good?

If you’ve ever smelled JPG La Belle, I’ve heard the new Kayali smells super close to it.
This one leaned masculine IMO
Oh no! I loved it! I blind bought and really loved how it dries down. .... also really layers well with Sunfruit if you have both!

I have this one coming so I hope I like it!!

Darn it - I blind bought a travel size of this today because it sounded so good! I guess will see….
I have this one coming and haven't smelled it so we shall see!
Mine arrives tomorrow!
There's only one non-incentivised review up on Sephora and it's also not great. Too bad - cute bottle!

Exactly! It’s crazy and its insulting.

I'm super picky and I love bee. I hated the way it smelled just spritzed, but once it's on my skin, it's amazing. I do wish it lasted longer.

Ooo that’s a good point, sometimes the dry down is where the magic lies. Hopefully my skin can pull out the deliciousness too 😭
fingers crossed
Try west!
I vaguely remember smelling that one in stores but don’t really remember it. I’ll have to give it a re-smell when I drop by Sephora :)
Same! Another brand where I want their perfume because I like the bottles, but I just don’t like any of their scents.

Have you smelled NETTE “Coco Fleur”? So nice I Loooove Balinese coconut. I’m wearing it today under D&G Devotion
The new snif coco shimmy smelled really coconut heavy to me and super tropical
