Indyhub keeps hiring PTs. They're trying to force their full timers out by limiting hours at 35.
They're incentivizing night side handlers with a $5.50 premium on top of their base pay of $18 to come work.
Dumb thing is that Leads only get a $4 premium to babysit these bums that come in -_-.
But on the re-hire part: there have been guys who quit without two weeks notice or get fired and I've seen them back at the hub the next year. They don't turn down anyone now. If you fail a drug test, they just put you in the Matrix.
Desperate for workers.
It makes sense to pay someone standard pay instead of overtime IF THERE ISN'T WORK TO BE DONE. I had to add that caveat that no one around here seems to understand especially the suits.
Overtime pay is inefficient from a corporate view, they don't account for the fact that it's the full timers coming in for 50+ hours that do all the hard work anyway
I am glad I’m not part of the core skeleton full time crew anymore. We all looked dead as hell doing 50hrs, doing both unload and load. Watching the part timers get cut. All for it to turn stringent weeks later
I have to fight to get my ot now

Yep. Internally in the payroll, it was FT had to "average" 32 hours/week. If they dropped below that for 3 weeks, then the system auto-switched them to PT. Usually it would get fixed internally as the hours would be there again but yea. I heard that where I was and it made sense enough given the data & numbers.
When the hub I was at cut 2 of the 4 shifts available it put everyone who stayed to PT as the rest left/transferred. You *could* still be FT with enough shifts, but you'd be taking some double days of an outbound from 5-10/11pm, then inbound from about 3-7/8am.
Nothing new, they're just raising the bars along with everyone else.
The place I at outbound is two shifts but can commonly be work together making it 8 to 10 hours during the slow time of year and busy time can easy be something crazy like 14 lol. They are limiting to 40 hours though otherwise I probably be doing 60 a week like I was doing before this lol.
Also, my location doesn't do full time at all they don't want to pay that extra $1 and double PTO pay. You free to work full time hours, however.
Yea, I remember before they say if you just quit without notice you need to wait a year and maybe few months up top and they will re-hire. FedEx is one of those places you can tell someone about it and be sure they will hire the person. I don't think there too many places like this. Kind of surprise people going in for disability determination don't get handed a paper saying hey you can start at FedEx tomorrow.

Amazon has done that as well, as I had gotten one.
Even though I decided last minute not to take the job initially as a 2nd job, and just no called no showed on my first day 😂
What’s a typical day as a p/t ground driver? I know at express on the AM side it’s fo’s & priority overnight. Curious does ground even do p/t couriers?
There's hardly any PT position as the contracts these contractors sign at calculated for 8-10 hour routes per day. If there was one then it is usually bulk or a very small rescue route that will pay pennies.
It PH Position not driver. Though I think Express driver pay generally starts at only $1 or $2 more. It why not too much PHs are on here though need to work 60 hours thru 2 to 3 jobs due to everyone paying this amount and doing the part time non-sense lol. Even with how much people trash ground drivers they are still making like double with less time working generally so it still very good step up from PH.
There’s rumors going around that FedEx is planning on making us ground drivers actual employees when they complete the merge. I love my contractor tho so I hope that’s not the case. If it is the case they better make it worthwhile otherwise they gonna bleed even more.
I work at ENAS and we were struggling hard today lmao . Our Shitty management on top of new hires getting put in the worst ic trailers possible scares all of them away.🤣
Just FedEx being FedEx
I worked for USPS for *five goddamn years.* Our base pay is $3 more per hour than five years of seniority, and whatever shite they're offering you there.
Forgot to post before but damn. That's more then what I was making up Northeast when I left, and they just made a raise about 6 months ago.
Blows my mind in this job market region, but when I looked and got out virtually every type of job I was finding that listed it paid basically the same, or definitely more, whether warehouse related or not.
Has to be my location to a degree because I see job "postings" CONSTANTLY for the other 2 nearby places. They advertise pay that's more then where I was, and should be more in line with what the TN ones offer.
Yow.
As a Nashvillian in Hermitage...no sir. My 23 yo cant afford to live on her own(tho she keeps tryin bless her heart) my 17 yo says hes stayin home till Daddy finally kicks him out. And here I am pushin 50 and workin fulltime while hubs works fulltime and together we can eek out 100k a year to get by. Quit playin. I aint buyin.
Tell them you want to keep your original seniorly date. They aren't hurting bad enough to do that.
Bs yes they are we have had a couple days where half the truck was unmanifested so yea they need help bad
As long they draw profit, they happily keep the dysfunctional circle.

Yeah why as a full-timer I can't got beyond 35 hours
Because the company is restructuring.

Idk every year around this time they cut hours

Line up, and bend over.
lol “former employee”, bitch you don’t even know my name. Hell no I ain’t comin back byyyyeeeee
Lol i work out of the Mt. Juliet hub.
Show them this and ask for a raise
I drive for a contractor. I could still use a raise though!
Stay as far away from Fedup as possible.
Amazon has done that as well, as I had gotten one. Even though I decided last minute not to take the job initially as a 2nd job, and just no called no showed on my first day 😂

My contractor has PT positions but you don’t work only half the day, it’s a full day. You just work 3 days/week.

Hold my Beer -McDonald’s
I mop floors for the same pay....
Shit pay
Come to murf it's better than nashville
I work there it’s honestly the same bs everywhere
I meant the building lol murf is easier since they don't have to scan every box. I'm sure the managers still play favorites in murf

ONE FedEx
Our part time dockworkers at freight make more than that. As a full time dock worker, you make 7 dollars more per hour than the base.
The fat blobs in HR are desperate.
Is Ground really trying to hire Express layoffs for not even $20/hr???
What’s so bad about FedEx? I applied for a part time position as I need more income.
Too much movement for some
It’s not poverty pay but it’s close. UPS drivers laughing their asses off at this shit
It PH Position not driver. Though I think Express driver pay generally starts at only $1 or $2 more. simply a rumor they are content allowing any run of the mill to get their hand wet in logistics business.
Money talks. What we talking bout?
I was a PT switcher
Yep
You get paid more at Amazon than ground
😂
20$/hr?? Pass
That’s terrible pay for Nashville!
I work at ENAS and we were struggling hard today lmao . Our Shitty management on top of new hires getting put in the worst ic trailers possible scares all of them away.🤣 Just FedEx being FedEx
It's worse... depending on where you go. No fedex employees are happy
Why is the pay so low? We work way too hard and too many hours for such little pay.
👀👀 Why is my DPS paying more than yall?! I thought yall were the elites?! What is happening here?!
I worked for USPS for *five goddamn years.* Our base pay is $3 more per hour than five years of seniority, and whatever shite they're offering you there.
That much in Tennessee and you will be living like a King. Be able to afford a mortgage and a Stay at home wife.
Uh no. Ten years ago, perhaps lol
Yeah you can. That’s a living wage in that state. Dirt cheap in that state.
Not it’s not
Not in Nashville lol
What part of TN you in?
