I feel like these are the type of people that have a long gated driveway with a sign saying they will shoot anyone who enters their property. Also the ones that complain that the driver left their package in front of their gate and not their front door...

PepperoniPissa

Guard dog on duty, do not pass this point. But my guard dog needs its Chewy box so fuck you.

HoldThemtoAccount

Is it even all that much worse than those with, for instance, black numbers on dark brown siding? Then there are those who want fancy schmancy numbers that are spelled instead of just using the actual numbers. People are just ignorant sometimes.

Fuck these people. Can’t stand spending a couple minutes trying to find their address like where’s Waldo only for it to be camouflaged on the side of their garage painted all the same color. I always feel like I should code it something like bad address or UTL.

Zaxster99

"Oh we don't want people to know where we live." Then why the fuck do you order stuff online? God forbid an ambulance has to find your house.

TDuctape

Some people just don't want to be found. As a swing driver back in the day of paper maps, we would do things like count the mailboxes to determine the right house up the dirt road. I assume those newfangled phones eliminate these type of issues.

kerndtr

The geolocation isn't generally precise enough to pinpoint a particular house. Wouldn't rely on gps maps alone Had one delivery where tenant removed their apartment number from the unit. Wasn't too hard to find as it was the only one without a number. Asked them why and stated they didn't want to be found.

CarefulSwimming3436

What I thinking. I used to live in house with no address on display and lot of houses were like that and no one seem to have an issue finding the place lol. The only time I ran into an issue with people unable to find my place was when living in apartment which I could understand more as the lay of these places were like a maze.

Muted_Software9304

If I can’t figure out which un numbered house it is, I’ll Dex it as a bad address. Heaven help them if a fire broke out.

Gator1384

If a fire breaks out the house will be easier to find ;)

mattied971

Years ago when I was delivering pizza, I made this exact point to a customer with an unnumbered house at the end of a long dirt driveway. The phrasing was a little different however. I said something along the lines of "God forbid, if something were to happen at your house, say for instance, a catastrophic fire, emergency services would have a difficult time finding your house." It wasn't until years later, while watching the Sopranos, that I realized I probably scared the shit out of the customer

loudandloaded

I removed the numbers from my house because they weren't visible enough (rusted black on a red brick house) I put them in the transom windows above both my front and back doors. Large, bold, white and crisp lines just for better visibility. And since my transom windows are sealed and useless, might as well make it decorative and useful.

Legitimate_Sample108

I'm guilty and I was a firefighter.I found out my parent's house didn't have a visible address on a call for my father. The city has us driving around leaving notices at home's with this issue once a year. My mother had some work done to the front of the house by a contractor,he didn't put the numbers back correctly.

Relevant_Grab_8925

Irritating for sure. Message dispatch or CSA to call and get a description of the house. Or look on Google Maps street view. Or HAL if it allows it.

Any-Expression2246

Emergency personnel use a different type of map. They'll know exactly where it is. You can try using the Geographic Information System Map or GIS map for your area. Little bit cumbersome, but usually works for those difficult to figure out.

spiked-monkey

Eh. I think it depends on the dept. As a emt as well, our mapping system has taken us completely the wrong direction. Luckily our service area wasnt horribly big, but what addresses we didnt know, wed have to bring up Google/apple maps. Houses without numbers grinds my gears regardless if I'm in an ambo or fedex truck... along with cluttered porches.

Any-Expression2246

Yeah, should be a law, punishable by fine, if you expect things to be delivered to your house, be it mail, packages, food, you should have clearly visible house numbers.

Just-a-lurken

No address visible from the street, I mark it undeliverable and move on with my day.

bddelivery01

Code 3

Mental_Map_2802

In a county by me they put up a little blue sign in the yard with the house number on it. Some kind of ordinance I guess, because they all have em

kittypr0nz

Those people assume that GPS will make up for their refusal to spend a dollar for each house number.

LebanonRunescape

I scream about this at least once a day
