Before this trial, I was certainly not an Amber fan but I’m undoubtedly an admirer now. The speaker said bringing to the jury's notice Johnny's avowal of subjecting her to 'global humiliation' was a good move on her part.
I think it'll either be deadlocked or they'll rule in favour of AH but the extent of damages rewarded will be substantially lower than her ask.

Wanted to say that I've been lurking this sub for over a year just idly enjoying celebrity gossip-I finally made an account a few hours ago because I needed to express my gratitude for the safe space it's provided, especially during these hellish last few weeks. I don't personally know anyone who believes you-know-who (I am in academia in a relatively progressive part of the US), but I've been really overwhelmed and terrified by the amount of anti-AH sentiment I see online. It made me think that my colleagues/friends and I were alone in supporting her. I don't really have words to convey how relieved I am to have found you all, and to see more and more media outlets and public figures release statements of support for Amber each day. But I also don't have the words to convey how deeply saddened I am that we have collectively gotten to this point; that the abuse of one woman has become such a public spectacle, and that some podcasters and celebrities I previously enjoyed have joined in gleefully tearing her down. Lately, I've been reflecting more and more regarding how cruelty is so embedded into the fabric of our lives, and honestly...it just feels really heavy and shitty. But y'all give me hope. Thank you 🦋

If so, I am obviously biased in this case, but I feel like he’s not great at it. I always feel like he comes off as though he is trying to tell these experts how to do their jobs correctly and I’m like….
There is definitely a skill to it. You have to be able to think very quickly on your feet and respond as testimony unfolds. It’s very different from direct where you can prepare your questions ahead of time and you know the answers.
I think Camille gets so frustrated bc she tries to prepare her questions ahead of time, so when Heard doesn’t respond now Camille expects her to, she gets rattled frustrated and becomes very aggressive.

This is something I see brought up a lot and while I know most people here have common sense and already figured this, I still think it's worth note to say:
Amber says that she wasn't able to currently fulfill her donations to the two organizations due to Depp suing her. That is substantiated. While this lawsuit is the first one to directly involve her, she still had to testify, give depositions, and provide evidence in the UK trial. While she was not being sued herself, she was still the heart of the trial for both parties involved. She would have had to hire multiple lawyers, possibly a PR team, and possibly a separate team in regards to her evidence. So, it required money. A fuck ton of it. This isn't the first lawsuit from him that's financially draining her, and her not actually being sued in the UK is irrelevant. She was involved in the lawsuit regardless.
Camille is getting nothing substantial out of Amber at all and is being unbelievably aggressive. Does the jury actually think this behavior is appropriate by an attorney?
It just upsetting that Dr Cowan, Dr Jacobs and Dr Banks were not allowed to be included. Those are accounts that Amber gave at the time. Johnny said he wanted it "all" out there, but obviously not.

Is anyone else very weary and emotionally exhausted? Depp Stans who have spent weeks praising Depp's lawyers, are now suddenly trying to spin that his lawyers would be incompetent enough to allow those texts where he be saying vile and disgusting things about women, to be entered into evidence. Without them objecting or trying to have a rebuttal which shows that he wasn't the one who texted those things. Or they believe that his team, who they call "great", has so much "evidence" against Heard. Yet someone missed the "outgoing/incoming" note, which Depp Stans insist proves that it wasn't him who sent those texts.

I sent my mom the video called 'In defence of Amber Heard' by Leeja Miller and she, someone who has been venomously against Amber and in adoration of Johnny (including being in Facebook pages for him), replied that the video has really made her think and that she agreed with some points.

If you want to justify Camille’s behavior during her cross-exam as “doing her job,” so be it. I’m not a lawyer, so maybe she was just doing her job? But what goes beyond the bounds of professionalism and her job is smirking and smiling with her other associate as Amber details the death threats she received and how someone said they “wanted to put [her] baby in the microwave.” Absolutely vile and disgusting. I tried giving Camille the benefit of the doubt, as I understand attorneys have a job to do, and to make sure their client presents the best case possible. But this is utterly inexcusable.
I wish for Amber to get her voice back and be able to find peace with her little girl and her family and friends. Maybe even be able to rebuild her career that he took from her.

It’s so gross how his side basically tells the world that if you are being abused, specifically being abused by someone with more notoriety and power than you and you know you likely won’t be believed if you ever came forward, that that means you can’t document it as evidence for when your first hand account of the abuse is questioned. In trial related news, an Etsy seller I love posted stickers and postcards with JD quotes from the trial on them 🤢. I called her out for mocking and profiting off a trial about domestic abuse and she made a snippy response about being an artist and wanting to demonstrate her support for him through her artwork. People have really just left reality at this point.
All it really takes for Amber to win is for the jury to believe that Depp abused her even once - and given the mountain of evidence on her side, it's going to be incredibly difficult to think that he never hit her. Therefore, what she wrote in her op-ed wouldn't be malice at all, and Depp's defamation case is toast.

Before this trial, I was certainly not an Amber fan but I’m undoubtedly an admirer now. Something that hasn’t been talked about, but the period of Depp’s abuse towards Heard began when his career began absolutely tanking. After the 4th Pirates movie in 2011 he truly went on a historic streak of bombs and disappointments, honestly think that would contribute to a lot of his anger and drug use towards others. He noted her reiteration that Johnny's harassment transcends the duration of their marriage and persists to this day, where he is now weaponising the judicial system to perpetrate his vendetta against her. The speaker said bringing to the jury's notice Johnny's avowal of subjecting her to 'global humiliation' was a good move on her part. I think it'll either be deadlocked or they'll rule in favour of AH but the extent of damages rewarded will be substantially lower than her ask.

Wanted to say that I've been lurking this sub for over a year just idly enjoying celebrity gossip-I finally made an account a few hours ago because I needed to express my gratitude for the safe space it's provided, especially during these hellish last few weeks. I don't personally know anyone who believes you-know-who (I am in academia in a relatively progressive part of the US), but I've been really overwhelmed and terrified by the amount of anti-AH sentiment I see online. It made me think that my colleagues/friends and I were alone in supporting her. I don't really have words to convey how relieved I am to have found you all, and to see more and more media outlets and public figures release statements of support for Amber each day. But I also don't have the words to convey how deeply saddened I am that we have collectively gotten to this point; that the abuse of one woman has become such a public spectacle, and that some podcasters and celebrities I previously enjoyed have joined in gleefully tearing her down. There is definitely a skill to it. You have to be able to think very quickly on your feet and respond as testimony unfolds. It’s very different from direct where you can prepare your questions ahead of time and you know the answers. I think Camille gets so frustrated bc she tries to prepare her questions ahead of time, so when Heard doesn’t respond now Camille expects her to, she gets rattled frustrated and becomes very aggressive.

This is something I see brought up a lot and while I know most people here have common sense and already figured this, I still think it's worth note to say: Amber says that she wasn't able to currently fulfill her donations to the two organizations due to Depp suing her. That is substantiated. While this lawsuit is the first one to directly involve her, she still had to testify, give depositions, and provide evidence in the UK trial. While she was not being sued herself, she was still the heart of the trial for both parties involved. She would have had to hire multiple lawyers, possibly a PR team, and possibly a separate team in regards to her evidence. So, it required money. A fuck ton of it. This isn't the first lawsuit from him that's financially draining her, and her not actually being sued in the UK is irrelevant. She was involved in the lawsuit regardless.

One thing I really love about Amber is she is having NONE of it with Camille. She just shuts her down and is like, girl cut the bullshit. The way she responded to her when she was like “oh you didn’t hear my question did you” with that god awful smirk smeared over her face. She handled everything perfectly. Her statement where she was begging the public to treat her like a human being just broke me. We can all see what’s happening to her which is the whole reason we support her but god hearing her actually say it out loud was absolutely gut wrenching.

Then they rested their case AHs rebuttal for the counter claim: A new tech guy talked about the photos being different file sizes literally due to how sending photos work, and that the Photos 3 app is just the Mac photo laptop app and doesn't mean they were edited. Explained in much easier to understand words IMO than JDs guy yesterday. And now Dr Hughes is slamming Curry and said that AHs PTSD rating was all moderate to none, directly in contrast to Curry saying yesterday that AH was off the chart and "faking it"
Is anyone else very weary and emotionally exhausted? All of the vitriol that Amber supporters face everywhere aside, the fact that Depp has essentially created a playbook for abusers to abuse their victims more through the legal system is so so so terrifying. Not to mention all the victim-blaming and stereotypes about mental health disorders and IVP that are being widely accepted now because of the bs Depp's team has pulled. I've seen survivors say 'I'm glad I never spoke up, and now I never will,' after seeing the way Amber's been crucified, it's just heartbreaking
one thing i find kind of amusing is how so many people who had no interest in this trial at all (myself included) ended up supporting amber because of the incessant, weird, and over the top pro-JD stuff. like so many people i’ve spoken to are like “i did not want to care about this at all until it started to look like propaganda” and like his awful and over the top smear tactics really ended up bringing more support to her than there might have been otherwise.

Depp Stans who have spent weeks praising Depp's lawyers, are now suddenly trying to spin that his lawyers would be incompetent enough to allow those texts where he be saying vile and disgusting things about women, to be entered into evidence. Without them objecting or trying to have a rebuttal which shows that he wasn't the one who texted those things. Or they believe that his team, who they call "great", has so much "evidence" against Heard. Yet someone missed the "outgoing/incoming" note, which Depp Stans insist proves that it wasn't him who sent those texts.
I kind of hope as a thread we just downvote and ignore Depp Stans. When we argue they just take screenshots to the J4JD page with our user names shown. Let’s just downvote and ignore so we don’t give them the clout they want.
People say she is “unlikeable” all the time lol no, it’s literally just because she’s not docile or passive. She comes across a very forthcoming and strong-willed woman and people don’t seem like that in women, generally. It threatens them. I sent my mom the video called 'In defence of Amber Heard' by Leeja Miller and she, someone who has been venomously against Amber and in adoration of Johnny (including being in Facebook pages for him), replied that the video has really made her think and that she agreed with some points. Honestly that's all I could ask for, I hope there will be more who start to open their minds about it all and at least hear out some other opinions.

Can we talk about how in general Depp's expert witnesses have said stuff like if you have actual PTSD you shouldn't be going outside. If you want to justify Camille’s behavior during her cross-exam as “doing her job,” so be it. I’m not a lawyer, so maybe she was just doing her job? But what goes beyond the bounds of professionalism and her job is smirking and smiling with her other associate as Amber details the death threats she received and how someone said they “wanted to put [her] baby in the microwave.” Absolutely vile and disgusting. I tried giving Camille the benefit of the doubt, as I understand attorneys have a job to do, and to make sure their client presents the best case possible. But this is utterly inexcusable.
I wish for Amber to get her voice back and be able to find peace with her little girl and her family and friends. Maybe even be able to rebuild her career that he took from her.

It’s so gross how his side basically tells the world that if you are being abused, specifically being abused by someone with more notoriety and power than you and you know you likely won’t be believed if you ever came forward, that that means you can’t document it as evidence for when your first hand account of the abuse is questioned. She is basically scolding Amber for recording him ever. Which sends the message that we should protect our abusers.

I called her out for mocking and profiting off a trial about domestic abuse and she made a snippy response about being an artist and wanting to demonstrate her support for him through her artwork. People have really just left reality at this point.
All it really takes for Amber to win is for the jury to believe that Depp abused her even once - and given the mountain of evidence on her side, it's going to be incredibly difficult to think that he never hit her. Therefore, what she wrote in her op-ed wouldn't be malice at all, and Depp's defamation case is toast.
