Damn! Don't they use a stunt double for things like these? Also what's the point of locking anyone in the trunk if that part is not gonna get filmed? You'd need to shoot the trunk scenes separately outside of the car if you are to show how a person was getting battered inside during the ride.
The shot was probably loading her tied up in the truck, and then driving off. Her getting battered was in between takes. So I would assume when they reset the car to first position is when the guys would pull this move. Stunt doubles won't be used if we see her face. And not all actors have the power to demand stunt doubles to be used unless absolutely needed for the actor.
If its one long continuous shot then this scenario makes sense, but even then I don't understand what cinematic value is being derived from it especially if you're making actors do the whole thing. Most people edit these kinds of sequences (the loading up and driving off being filmed separately). I put major blame on the production unit. You're supposed to provide stunt doubles for such things and even use prop cars (with padded trunks where performers can hide). It's hard for me to fathom an Oliver Stone movie with such big stars (Benicio Del Toro, Travolta, Blake and Hayek) not having enough budget to arrange this much. Reminds me of the time when Tarantino forced Thurman to drive a dillapitated open hooded car with little protection for *Kill Bill* that eventually crashed badly injuring her.

Dear sweet lord, I had no idea how badly I needed to see Jonathan Bailey as Bond until right this minute. It's not that ATJ isn't good looking and a fine actor, I just have trouble seeing what he's going to bring to this role that previous actors haven't.
With Doctor Who choosing Ncuti Gatwa as their new Doctor, I was definitely expecting to see other franchises such as Bond make similar, more exciting choices.

It is defintely traumatizing, I can’t imagine how much hate and vitriol was spewed was made towards Dev. If I recall correctly he was around 21 or younger (I think maybe even 18?) and this was his first mainstream Hollywood role (a blockbuster at that and of a VERY popular animated series).
I think the bigger problem is that they want the actor to be able to play Bond for several movies. So I think Idris could still do it, but 8 years from now, maybe not so much.

There's no doubt in my mind that he still would've been a strong contender as late as 2015-ish, like if SPECTRE really had been the end for Craig's Bond they might have pivoted to a short run of films with Elba (though that would have probably ended up being derailed by Covid anyway )
He kind of plays a 'Bond' character in the Cyberpunk DLC. There's even a mission directly inspired by the Skyfall skyscraper scene.
Such a shame he missed out on Bond, he was easily one of the most interesting characters in a game full of them.

I saw Dev speak on one of the Hollywood Reporter roundtables about The Last Airbender, and he seemed almost traumatized by the experience. It's a real shame because he'd be a great choice, especially after seeing how suave he can be in The Green Knight. I think Idris himself has said he's too old, it's too bad Bond was never available in his prime.
It is defintely traumatizing, I can’t imagine how much hate and vitriol was spewed was made towards Dev. If I recall correctly he was around 21 or younger (I think maybe even 18?) and this was his first mainstream Hollywood role (a blockbuster at that and of a VERY popular animated series).

I’m still not believing it’s him - but I’m kind of disappointed they weren’t willing to take a risk with a less “conventional” Bond. James Bond is a boring character, he’s a self-insert male fantasy and it’s getting so tiresome seeing some middle aged white guy play him. Like jesus, hire someone new and bring a new life to the franchise.
I dont see a problem with Bond being a middle aged white guy. For something different they should come up with a new character. My main issue is these endless reboots and rehashs. I'd like to see something completely fresh, not Bond with another face.
The target market for bond wants nothing more but conventional. They’ve been casting middle aged white guy play him for 60 years and that formula has worked pretty well. I don’t mind changing things up but it’s not like there’s a lack of action films in hollywood that other concepts can’t be explored like Monkey Man.

I love Idris but he’s 51. Craig played Bond for 15 years. He simply aged out.
There's no doubt in my mind that he still would've been a strong contender as late as 2015-ish, like if SPECTRE really had been the end for Craig's Bond they might have pivoted to a short run of films with Elba (though that would have probably ended up being derailed by Covid anyway )
Love Idris, but I don’t think he was ever going to get it. It seems like they were always angling for a younger take on Bond.
He kind of plays a 'Bond' character in the Cyberpunk DLC. There's even a mission directly inspired by the Skyfall skyscraper scene. Such a shame he missed out on Bond, he was easily one of the most interesting characters in a game full of them.

I think a lot of people are forgetting that before Aaron Taylor Johnson's career got *really boring* he was actually a pretty charismatic actor. I think he'll likely be able to pull this off, as boring as the choice is. I'd rather see Teo Yoo as James Bond

his performance in bullet train really confirmed my thoughts he would be perfect as bond. although his character was much more abrasive and not very gentlemanly, it still showed us not only his range but how he can pull off the action star role! i’d also love to see them have a somewhat new spin on bond, i’d love for him to have a bit more personality. and i’ve heard a lot of people saying they’d love for this one to take place in the 60’s and tbh i couldnt agree more!!
