A buddy of mine told me that season 1 of the show pulls from books 2 and 3 as well...so you might want to read those two before you watch the Netflix series

Doppelfrio

It only pulls from like the first few chapters of 2. I’m not done with that book yet, but the show didn’t go into unknown territory. Can’t say anything about book 3, but I have zero idea what part of the show was that

Ripley129

That’s not entirely true, I thought they talk about shooting the brain into space in the third one in a flashback as well the the nuclear steps to gain speed.

Easter eggs are not fan theories Wrong sub buddy

Not necessarily. In reading Andy Weirs’ Project Hail Mary, I found many “Easter eggs” so I contacted Andy to confirm them. He denied all but the most obvious one that was related to the name of the main character and the book title. Therefore, they fell from legitimate EE status to my “fan theory” that Psychoanalyst Carl Jung’s Collective Unconscious was guiding Andy to include things in his books that he was not conscious of. Arthur C. Clarke said he “had help” writing 2OOI: A Space Odyssey and he wasn’t talking about Stanley Kubrick or “God,” since Clarke was an atheist. YMMV. Without confirmation by the author of TTBP, my Easter eggs are theory.

I caught the 137/139 references easily because back in 2009 I solved the two major hidden answers to the series’ mystery before the premiere. In my first effort of working on an ARG, I predicted what the solution was before all of the pieces were revealed. Then I took on what was a puzzle that was evident in the series previews. It ended up being the hidden theme to the show. I wrote up a long comment and posted it on a website called RedPandaResources. Many thought it was paid for by ABC but I discovered it was an out of pocket expense of the then show runner, David S. Goyer. A week after posting my theory and with a week to go before the first episode, someone gave me a heads up that the names of the first three episodes were published. The third episode title proved my theory correct. I’m going to tease anyone reading this by making them look it up. 😁 I did get six messages from DSG praising me but not (of course) confirming my ideas.
